Genesis 6:5-8 The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the Lord said “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing- all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them. “But Noah found favor with the Lord.”
During Noah’s day the world was filled with violence. Adam and Eve’s child and grandchildren were walking their own and not walking with God. They were arguing, fighting, killing, lusting, committing sex sin, and doing whatever they pleased. This was Chapter 6 of the very first book of the Bible. The people of Noah’s day walked in sin and BROKE HIS HEART. We are at the end of the Bible and we are still BREAKING GOD’S HEART. People on the earth are still walking in sin and doing what pleases them and not God. What makes us think we will walk through our lives without seeing the end of the earth. God will take his righteous servants (friends) and then he will destroy the world just as he did in Noah’s day.
Matthew 24: 37-41 When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets, parties, and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. Two men will be working together in the field: one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour in the mill, one will be taken, the other left.
What is the difference between Noah’s days and our days. We better wake up, look up towards heaven and repent. We need to fall on our faces, pray that our father will forgive us and have mercy on our souls. Then we need to get up and be DOERS OF GODS WORD, not just READERS. Just reading the word is not enough for our God.
James 1:22-25 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in the mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you DO what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.
We need to be DOERS. We need to get fired up about Jesus and what he’s doing in our lives. We need to study the word, pray for others, love others and go out door to door if it will bring another soul to our Father in Heaven. N.C. schools have a program NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. The teachers educate, reeducate and reeducate to the child’s level of understanding and until the child understand what is being taught. We need to do the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND program for Christ. We need to educate people about our Lord and if they don’t want to listen we need to go pray for them and reeducate them about the Lord again and again until we reach their level of understanding. We need to wake up!!!
Rev. 3:1-3 I know all the things you do, and that you have a reputation for being alive-but you are dead WAKE UP!! Strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead. I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God. Go back to what you heard and believed at first, hold it firmly. Repent and turn to me again. If you don’t wake up, I will come to you suddenly, as unexpected as a thief.
Lord have mercy on us! Let us have a walk such as Enoch and Lord find favor in us such as Noah. We need to wake up and do something before it’s too late. We still have time but it’s getting shorter with each day. Rejoice in the Lord and let the revival in our souls spread throughout the world.

Blow the Trumpet in Zion, Wendy. Sound the alarm in the HOLY CITY of GOD’S PEOPLE and ALL PEOPLES of the earth. The Daily Lilies trumpet
the Word of God as a sign, a signal, that THE KING IS COMING. THE KING IS COMIING>… 2Peter warns us, blatantly, (Message Bible paraphrased)…”God is incensed against the evil predators who live by lust, addicted to a horrid existence, speak evil of holy things and indulge in self-rule….obsessed with and compulsion to sin. Their speciality is GREED…DEAD SOULS! They’ve escaped from the slum of sin by experiencing our Master and Savior Jesus Chfist and then slid back into the same old sin habits, returning to it like the dogs and the pigs.
And the story of the destruction of the earth is not just for Noah’s time. Because Peter tells us that in the “end” the earth will burn with fervent heat and a conflagration that will destroy the earth and all its inhabitants. “BUt when that day of judgment comes it will be unannounced as a thief. The sky will collapse with a thunderous bang and the earth will disintegrate into a monumental conflagration, earth and all its works exposed to the judgment of GOD ALMIGHTY. Don’t overlook the obvious here. With GOD one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. He’s holding back right now because He’s waiting for all of us. He doesn’t wish that anyone would perish out of the earth and be lost forever. He’s giving us time And space to change;” change our minds, change our attitudes, change our hearts for HIM. “Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow, do you see how essential it is to live a holy life?” If we choose to do His will now, to follow His Word now, to live a holy life now,” when that day does arrive, the galaxies will burn up and the elements will melt down ON THAT DAY,,,,GOD’S WORD….but we’ll hardly notice it because we’ll be looking the other way…at the NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH AND THE NEW JERUSALEM….”All LANDSCAPED WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS” (2Peter, chapters 2&3)
Today, Sara and Gary exhorted us, encouraged us, motivated us, entreated us to lift our vision higher and see the sad, frightened world out there, out way beyond ourselves, out way beyond the comfortable little box we live in; looking at those far away and near crying for A WAY, looking for a way; looking for a god; for the LIVING GOD, even if they do not know how to find HIM, YET! SO BLOW THE TRUMPT IN ZION, WENDY. Sound the alarm in the holy mountain. LILIES BLOW THEIR TRUMPETS OF GOD’S FAITH AND HOPE!
Wake up and do. This is serious business. Chickenfarmer what you said about being a doer and the time getting shorter with each day reminded me of John 9:4 where Jesus said’…” I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is still day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
And in Matt 25:10-13 some people weren’t prepared or ready when the bridegroom’s midnight cry came…”and while they (the virgins) went to buy oil for their lamps) the bridegroom came and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding and the DOOR WAS SHUT. Afterwards the other virgins came also saying ‘Lord, Lord open to us! But He answered and said ‘Assuredly I say to you, I do not know you. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day not the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”
In Matthew 7:22 it says, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out demons? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I(Jesus)profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity……He says “I never knew you”….This is serious..if these people were casting out demons and doing wonderful works and Jesus still said I never knew you..thats being dead …If Life(Jesus) doesnt know you…you are Dead.. .O God that the wake up call be heeded..and the sleepers would wake and take action ….He said Strengthen what little remains… we had better use what we have left or according Matthew 25;26-30 “His Lord answered and said unto him, thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not spread..Thou oughtest, therefore, to have put my money to the exhangers, and then, at my coming, I should have recieved mine own with interest…Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him who hath ten talents…for unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance,; but from him that hath not, it shall be taken away even that which he hath..And cast the unporfitable servant into outer darkness; there whall be weeping and gnashing of teeth…There is more to just prophysing, there is more to just casting out demons, there is more to just doing many wonderful works in Jesus name….In Luke 10:19 it say,”Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you..Notwithsatnding, in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven…We need to see the fields because they are there ready..and we need to get other names written in the Lambs Book of Life in Heaven…and good works even in Jesus name just to be doing a good work isnt going to cut it…its lives for the Kingdom that is what is pleasing to God..as Wendys’ blog Sounds the Wake up call…and says let the revival in our souls spread throughout the world..I say amen to this… spreading the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ..And bringing many sons to glory….using and strenghtening what remains…dj …(What an awsome blog chickenfarmer)
I re-read this blog again this morning as it stayed with me all night long..especially this part…”I find that your actions do not meet the requirements of my God, Go back to what you heard and believed at first, hold it firmly, Repent and turn to me again”. This scripture had said to strengthen what little remains, for even what is left is almost dead…..then it said go back to to what you heard and believed first and hold it firmly….What is it that was heard and believed first….That He is the vine we are the branches and if we abide in Him we would bring forth much fruit..What is the fruit …souls for Gods Kingdom…saved by preaching…Jesus Christ and him Crucified to the uttermost parts of the earth/world… He said hold it firmly…Firmly means=not weak or uncertian; vigourous…and vigourous means=possessing vigor; full of physcial or mental strength or active force, carried out forcefully and energetically…showing no signs of depletion or diminishing of freshness or robustness ( web dic.)…..(true Holy Ghost filled led action..dj)
I truly appreciate this wake-up call. As I pondered these words in my heart I thought about:
Hebrews 6:11-12 “…do not become sluggish.”
Romans 12:11 “Not Lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.”
And of course some of our most beloved scriptures. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say rejoice and do not grow weary in doing good.
My question of help upon awakening with all this info from you and the others that have added wood to the fire is:
What do we do now? I read where you gave some suggestions, door knocking, President Bush’s administration’s program “No Child left Behind.”
I am a part of a lovely home fellowship that upon talking with them about this subject from time to time I am told the same always. “I pray all day and all the time. I ask, seek, knock but I did not find anyone interested in what I have to say or offer. My family turns a deaf ear to any of this but not to money and fun and/or their own agenda” Now I heard loud and clear your “No child left behind program for Christ.” Now, I guess a simple way of putting this is how does one get the child in order to implement this program?
Maybe teachers should all switch to “Christian Schools?” But what about the money and benefits? How would the teacher live? Do you think joining a larger church? If so, do you know of any that has this kind of program that is working and has the fruit to prove it?
I am asking, seeking and knocking from all this fire and wood on the fire for answers? Where does the money come from to support these programs? We have the Bill Gates and the many other wealthy business men and women that are supporting many great programs throughout the world. And, for that I raise my head and hands in thanks to God for such caring people.
But, where or where are the Lydia’s of Acts 16, listened, converted, and opened her home and gave and supported the mission of God from her lucrative business of selling purple.
I see many of us today that talk this and that stand in line for inheritance or did and freely gave it to another in hopes they would do the right thing with it as they just did not want the responsibility of having to walk this out. Or, we hold what we have so tight in our hands because of what tomorrow may bring. Now this is all good, very good. So I am only asking how or where does God have the business lady or man that sounds off with fruit because they had what it takes to do this.
We that are on here are using some expensive computers to blow the trumpet but how do we get the sound of the trumpet to ears? 1) We can better educate ourselves to the use of our computer and its many ways of outreach 2) Take time to use and use wisely for the Kingdom work 3) Evaluate our time and see how much time we use for The Kingdom compared to our own desires and wants. Personal emails, etc.
As I was reading the questions from Sara, I thought about Noah. God told Noah to build an ark that was 600 feet long, 100 feet wide and 60 feet high. Noah didn’t wait until next week to begin this amazing project. He told his sons to stop their careers and work with him building an ark. I’m sure he hired others to work on the ark. All the time and money invested for a project that took 120 years to complete. The entire time Noah was doing God’s will, the people around him were laughing at him and making fun of him for building an ark on dry land. Noah preached to the people about the flood that was coming but they only laughed at him. Can you imagine what Noah felt. God told him to build an ark of mammoth size so every soul could be saved. Noah warned the people about the flood, but no one cared. They were to busy living their own lives to worry about some man and a big boat. The people thought they would live forever.Even when the animals began to walk on the ark, they continued to laugh and tease Noah about a floating zoo. Noah told them come before it’s too late. There’s going to be a great flood and the world will be destroyed. The people just laughed at him and made fun of him as they watched the door of the ark being closed by God’s hand. Noah caught one last glimpse of the beautiful outside world, the world he would never see again.
Noah spent 120 years of his time, money and what ever else it took to do God’s will. I’m sure he was tired and sometimes even frustrated. People from all over came just to make fun of him. They thought he was crazy. Noah kept his eyes on God and not his surroundings. He did what ever it took to do God’s will. That’s what we have to do. God may have a different plan for each of us. He blessed each of us with unique talents and gifts to be used for his glory. Don’t just say well God know’s I love him,I believe in him, I pray, and I go to church on Sundays, isn’t that enough. Be careful not to be just “lukewarm” for the Lord. What would have happen to the world if Noah had this attitude. Let’s use the gifts that God’s given us to glorify him.
Wendy, as I was reading your words I thought and began to sing the words of a hymn I have sang so often so long ago and yet it still has great meaning today.
“Though none go with me, yet will I follow; (3x)
No turning back, no turning back.
The world behind me, the cross before me; (3x)
No turning back, no turning back.”
Also a scripture comes to mind from Pr. 22:28 “Do not remove the ancient landmark which your fathers have set.” This brings to mind respect the boundaries of tradition-behavioral as well as geographical.
Look what happens if we turn back and just do our own thing.. Matthew 24:45Who, then, is a faithful and wise servant, whom his/her Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his/her Lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you that he shall make him/her ruler over all his goods……verse48 but and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lords delayeth his coming; and shall begin to smite his/her servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, The lord of that servantshall come in a day when he/she looketh not for him , and in an hour that he is not aware of, and shall cut him/her asunder, and apoint his/her portion with the hypocrite; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth….Soooo…we have to do like Wendy said use our gifts and dont become lukewarm… What a mighty song..those words…”still I will follow”…that takes faith,,,and thats true love…..dj
Lukewarm is nothing to be…Revelation 3:15…I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot..So then, because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth……Be zealous…Zealous means=filled with or characterized by zeal..Zeal means=eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of something; fervor, Passion..P A S S I O N !…means compelling action…and thats what the hymn Sara shared with us is saying…thats passion…Though none go with me, still I will follow…Thats PASSION…..and I want more of it!!!!dj
First thought I had was to go and watch another baseball game on TV and I did. But, the thoughts of this didn’t leave so during the game I went back to Sara’s laptop computer and reread.
I think we should pray for one another Ephesians 6:19 as Paul requested for himself; “and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel. and vs. 20 “…that I may speak bodly, as I ought to speak.”
Wendy, are you a Pentecostal Laptop Computer Preacher? I thought you told us it was your Dad that was the preacher.
As I was thinking about this, the Lord showed me a picture of a rut in the road. When you can not come up higher with the Lord or even come to know the Lord Jesus Christ then you are in the rut of the world/church. Come up higher with the Lord, get out of the rut (the world) and see what the Lord has for you. Be refreshed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Be renewed and take in all that he has for you.
rut… a long deep track made by the repeated passage of the wheels of vehicles. ??? figurative a habit or pattern of behavior that has become dull and unproductive but is hard to change : the administration was stuck in a rut and was losing its direction.
Wendy,
You are right. Jesus’ return is “closer now than it’s ever been”, and we all
need to be reminded, to awaken. God, help us not to be sleeping like your
disciples did, just before your crucifiction. God, forgive me for being so
busy with the things of life, and forgetting to be busy about Your work and
Your return. Help me to be like Enoch and Noah.
Passage 2 Timothy 4:8:
“Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
Yes, we need to long for and love, and steady think and hope and believe for the second coming of Jesus Christ our Lord and we will receive a crown of righteousness. Don’t you want to see Him?
Yes I want to see Our Lord and King, and I want to have many crowns to lay at His feet and Many souls for His Kindgom and I want to hear Him say well done not just to me but to the many souls that come in because of what we have done here on the Daily Lily and individually..I long for and hope and believe for His coming…looking for it too…dj
I read your reply and the part that got me to thinking was when you wrote, Help us not to be sleeping like your disciples did….Jesus was right there with them..they could see Him touch Him,..and they still went to seep..tired from all the emotions of the day probably..and now Jesus lives in us…it makes one wonder how we could drift off to sleep or even allow ourselves to be lulled to sleep..and yet it happens and then a wake up call comes like this one Wendy gives…I agree with you Needles…help us all be like Enoch and Noah…and especially just like Jesus…..dj
I re-read this and have done more serious thinking and studying…and this is what I have found…It is a choice…we all can be told to wake up but we can choose not to…we can all be talking it but the proof is in the walking out (waking)…or better yet the waking up..you choose to do or dont….Enoch chose to… walk/wake…dj
