  1. Definitely “thought provoking”! I love music and thankful we can worship God through music. I know our friend, MG surely did, as she played her heart out on the piano for Him, and our friend Debi plays her heart out on the guitar for Him. 🎶 🙏🙌🎶🎶🎶

    1. Tammy, so agree with you about MG and Debi.
MG always said when she got to heaven she wanted to continue playing her piano and worshiping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! She started playing about age 3 and played up to the end of her earth life. She never said I’m tired she just played

Thinking about her today after you mentioned her I was reminded of you and her having fun together in her last days. You would mail her peanuts from NC to her care room. Nurses would come by and she would give them a teaspoon of nuts. She was extremely generous with her music but not those peanuts. Lol

  2. Yes, I agree, Sara, that it is “thought provoking”. And if “the original purpose of music is to give God the honor and worship He is due” than that must be a measuring stick to see how and what we use music for and what our motives are for using and singing music.

I went on a scripture search to find out a bit more about what the Bible has to say regarding music and singing.

Psalm 29:2 NLT “Honor the LORD for the glory of his name. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.”

Psalm 95: NLT  “Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.” (vs 1,2)

“Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,”…(vs 6)

Psalm 96: NLT “Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!” (vs. 1)

“Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him.” (vs.9)

Colossians 3:16 NLT “Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.”
