Hello! My name is Lola Marshall, and I am four years old. Although
I’m four years old, I have a dream. My dream is to see what it is
like to be that beautiful angel which is way, way up high on that
beautiful, lighted Christmas tree. I only want to be one just for a
day. My Mom let me hold that angel in my tiny hands before it went up
there. She has blue eyes, rosy red cheeks, blonde hair, a satin gown
trimmed in gold braid. The gown never gets wrinkled, and she is always
glowing, showing forth her light.

On Christmas Eve, I fell asleep early in hopes that Santa Claus would
come and bring me gifts, especially the one wish to be a Christmas
angel for a day. I suddenly was awoken by someone singing Silent
Night. I searched out the singer of song. I went all through the
house until I came to the Christmas tree. I looked up and low and
behold that the angel on top of the tree was singing. The way she sang
it was the most beautiful thing because her pitch was perfect. After
she was finished, I decided to say Hello. She said that her name
was Gloria. I told her about me and I told her about my wish to be her
for one day.
She told me that she would love to take me where all the angels
where. It seemed like a blink in time, and we were there. At this place there
were maple trees and lively colored poinsettias. She told me that they
were stars for Jesus. There were also clear, frozen lakes in this
area. The thing that made me the happiest is that I was going to meet
real Christmas tree angels.
When we arrived, a monstrously large church, I saw all of the angels.
They were so beautiful. They all had different colored hair. They had
rosy red cheeks and gleaming blue eyes so that you could see their
beautiful, loving souls. They said that they would love to make me
into a Christmas tree angel. They put me in a white satin gown with
gold trim. They put sprinkled God’s loving spirit in me.
After they made me into an angel, Gloria said that I should prepare to
go home and become the angel on my own Christmas tree. I was so
excited about becoming the angel on my Christmas tree. I had just achieved my
dream.
When I got back home, I was sleepy so I went to bed. In the morning,
I found that I was glowing and when I looked down I was on top of the
Christmas tree in my own house. I saw my mother crying. I wondered
why she was crying on Christmas day. I told her that I was the angel
on top of the Christmas tree, but she couldn’t hear me at first. I
yelled and she turned around and looked up. She was very happy that I
was the angel on top of the Christmas tree.
She asked me how I had become an angel, and I told her about my wish
for Christmas. I told her about Gloria and the angels. She said that
this was amazing to her, but she wanted know when she could have her
real daughter back. I told her that my wish was only for a day.
Somehow my Mom got through the day. She was very focused on the angel
at the top of the tree all day long.
I will always remember my experience being the angel at the top of the
Christmas tree.

Hi TOTO
I love your story. When I was your age I would always play the angel in our Christmas Nativity in our church. And, I like “Lola” wished to be the Christmas Angel for a day.
After reading your story today I thought of this scripture and I thought how many angels has God sent our way to help us and love us.
Passage Hebrews 13:2:
” Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! ”
Your Christmas Angel is very special. Thanks for sharing.
Dear Toto,
Your story is so beautiful. To be an angel for a day, I can’t even imagine, but you did. I wonder what it was like to be shepherd in the field and receiving the good news about the birth of Jesus. I wonder what it was like to be one of those angels selected by God to give the good news about Jesus. Perhaps there is a story waiting to happen right here.
God gave us Jesus. Aren’t we so blessed. Please keep writing the stories which come from the heart. I so enjoying working with you on them. Your teacher and friend in Jesus. Mrs. O
Toto, your story is so bright and beautiful….just like the angel on the tree ‘showing forth her light’. When I read it I hear the Christmas carol “Angels we have heard on high sweetly singing o’er the plains ,And the mountains in reply, Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!”….just like your Gloria. Your words paint pictures and make music. Thank you for sharing the beauty of Christmas.
Fantastic Story, TOTO! What a great imagination!!! (or did it Really happen?) Keep the great stories coming. Mrs.O had a great idea about writing a story from the shepherds’ point of view. Maybe you could write from the Wise Men’s point of view or even from Baby Jesus’ point of view!! Congratulations on an award-worthy story. I hope you get published!!
Other children need to read what you write.
Hi ToTo! What a cute story!
You are a great writier!
