Hosea 6

My husband, Gary, read this to me recently as I was facing a difficult situation. It was very encouraging to me. Hope you will be encouraged as you read and believe.
“Come, let us return to the LORD.
He has torn us to pieces
but he will heal us;
he has injured us
but he will bind up our wounds.

After two days he will revive us;
on the third day he will restore us,
that we may live in his presence.
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.”

Be encouraged!

  1. Hallelujah! Be encouraged some more. From Spurgeon’s devotional I read – “No promise from His Word will ever be broken. He is neither unreasonable in His demands upon us (our obedience) nor unfaithful to our claims upon Him. We have a faithful God. Be this our joy.

    He will stablish us so that wicked men shall not cause our downfall, and He will keep us so that none of the evils which now assail us shall really do us damage. (Amen!) What a blessing for us that we need not contend with men but are allowed to shelter ourselves in the LORD Jesus, who is in truest sympathy with us. There is one true heart, one faithful mind, one never changing love; there let us repose. The LORD will fulfill the purpose of His grace to us, His servants, and we need not allow a shadow of a fear to fatal upon our spirits. Not all that men or devils can do can hinder us of the divine protection and provision. This day let us pray the LORD to stablish and keep us.”

    The scripture quoted was, “But the LORD is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil” (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

    What a wonderful God we serve! He holds us in the palm of his hand. He desires good for us, his children!

  2. What lovely words from the WORD of GOD. I thought of that phrase from the Hymn, HE LIVES; “and just the time I need Him, He’s always near”

    And another encouraging Scripture from Ex. 14:13>
    DO not fear. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance that the Lord will bring you today ( or tomorrow). This (enemy) you see today, you will never see again!” AMEN!

  3. Hosea 6 does give great hope, showing us God is so trustworthy and dependable that we can acknowledge (one definition is ‘To express thanks or gratitude for’) Him. I love the exhortation to press on in Him and the absolute promise in the verse, “As surely as the sun rises, he will appear”.

  4. Speaking of rising, Malachi 4: 2 the last verses of the Old Testament say,
    “But for you who fear My name, the Sun of Righteousness WILL RISE WITH HEALING IN HIS WINGS AND BEAMS.”
    ” And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture. On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

  5. Another encouraging “ARISE” Scripture….”Arise and sing ye daughter of Zion for the Lord hath delivered thee. Open up your heart and rejoice before Him for the Lord is your God!”

  6. The Lord must love to sing too…and He sings so purposefully.
    “For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

  7. Sounds you are hearing Sara are the sounds of triumphal, orchestral music marching forth in victory over our enemy the evil one.

    And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider (and all the sickness that plagues us) hath he thrown into the sea.
    Judges 5:3

    “Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel.”David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers to sing joyful songs, accompanied by musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.

    Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
    Let us sing unto the Lord a new song as we follow Him in intercessory fray against the foe.
    Now is the time. Now is the moment. For He says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.!! Amen!

  8. “With the high praises of God in our mouths and a two-edged sword in our hand. We will march right up on the victor’s side right into Canaan Land.”__Ps. 148
    We praise God for every victory, every day and for the ones that He will bring us through tomorrow and the next day and the next.

  9. With all the severe weather and other tragic incidents that are going on in the world and in our nation, even now, I looked back to this particular blog with the encouraging Scripture posted above from “Come, let us return to the LORD.
    He has torn us to pieces but He will heal us;He has injured us but He will bind up our wounds.” Whom the Lord loves He scourges and corrects and scourges every son whom He receives.(Hebrews 12:6)
    I stand corrected and scourged, almost daily. You would think that I would finally “Catch on”, but …NO..I get through one crisis by the grace, mercy and forgiveness of God and then, shortly go ahead and create another mess in my life and often in the life of others, usually by my mouth.
    But Oh, the promises of our Loving Heavenly Father . The Word given above
    “…He will revive us….He will restore us…that we may live in His presence.” Actually, we COULD live in His presence even now if we…let’s say I, could heed the counsel of the Holy Spirit and my counselors…take my “correction” like a good daughter and then put it to work in my life’d affairs. Then…
    “As surely as the sun rises, He will appear;He will come to us like the winter rains.”
    That is truly divine encouragement!!!!!
