When I see the beauty of white snow my mind runs to the words of the prophet, Isaiah:
“Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18 NKJ
Your picture and words, Sara, sure seems to say that God is speaking by what He shows in His nature and creation if I will pause, look and listen.
Love the picture!
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18 NKJ
1 John 2: 1-2 (NLT) “My dear children,
I am writing this to you so that you will
not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have
an advocate who pleads our case before
the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who
is truly righteous. He himself is the
sacrifice that atones for our sins — and
not only our sins but the sins of all the
world.”
Sara your pic reminded me, almost immediately, of one of my favorite, most touching poems by Robert Frost. Even his name seems to reflect the awesomeness of the aura of this particular poem.
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
As much as snow may be troublesome to drivers and those that have to shovel, it helps protect plants by insulating their roots, etc from these frigid temps. God thought of winter blankets even for the plants that we rely on for food, beauty, oxygen, etc.
“Blankets even for the plants”……..makes me think of the scripture in Matthew, Debi. Matthew 6:30-33 (NLT) “And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
I saw a beautiful red cardinal in a leafless tree with elegant limbs and snow tips! What beauty to behold! Our God is such a masterful landscape artist! Time to pause and behold the beauty.
