  1. I can’t get my mind in gear beyond the first few minutes.

Four (4) reasons why God allowed the Cannites to remain in the land…One (1) of four (4) to punish Israel for her sins. And, three (3) of Four (4) so they can have experience in warfare.

Yes, I left 2 and four out since I’m focusing my lesson for today on One and there. It takes me a few takes to gather the facts to follow the timeline.

Love input from others to help me establish the timeline in facts.

    1. Some thoughts on this lesson, as I listen and read….”God allowed the Israelites to stay in the land…(did you notice that?? “God allowed”(these pagan gods were not in control). The Israelites remained in Canaan and did not wipe the Canaanites out, as God had instructed them to (disobedience to God), but God allows us to follow our own agendas, if we chose to, even if we have a covenant with Him.

I can’t help but think of other Scriptures here…..Read with me from the NLT in the book of Romans 1:21-25 “Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.”

Now, reading these verses in the book of Romans, seems to follow what I think I understood from the lesson here, correct me if I misunderstood the lesson, please? “We were given 3 steps that caused the Israelites to convert to paganism: 1) they lived among the Canaanites 2) they intermarried with the Canaanites 3) they served their gods. I understood, from the lesson that each step here lead to the next step?

      1. Tammy, at your convenience would you listen to the first few minutes of this tape and see if we are in agreement on the remaining in the land.

I may ave missed a bullet point?

      2. Sara, I believe I messed up, sorry. The Canaanites remained in the land. Is this what you asked if we were in agreement on the remaining in the land? I hope I didn’t mislead anyone.

      3. Thanks Tammy. This is a lot to take in and I wanted to make sure I was following correctly. You are able to see and hear and take notes.

Glad we have the recordings so we can go back and study together.

Now we are ready for our next lesson.

      4. I agree, it is a lot to take in📝,and sure am glad we can listen 👂to the recordings.🎧🎤📀. Thanks for correcting my error.🤓

  2. My focus will be on (4) so they can experience warfare

They sure did experience warfare of Satan against them and they failed to be bold and stand their ground for the Lord.

    Isaiah 59:19
When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. They had made a vow to God to keep His commandments.

Oops they forgot to lift the standard up so all could see and laid it down to mix with the Canaanites and their culture.

Again they faced bondage and it took eight years before they lifted the standard.
Where were the warfare prayers of the nation of Isreal. When they had had enough they laid down and cried to the Lord and He showed them mercy. The standard was lifted once again.

    Who can break the cycle?

2 Chronicles 7: 14 says if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray
And seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins and heal their land.

Hopefully the Israelites learned something that day

  3. One point in the teaching that stuck out to me was that the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord because they just “forgot about what God had done for them.”
Apparently no recall or remembrance or maybe simply ignored and chose not to focus on what God and His greatness and worthiness.

  4. Rising early I felt God was prompting me to read Psalms 105. So I did.
Upon grouping all given in the Psalm, I came up with five general categories.

    Judgment and release:

    1. God showed His power through His chosen.
    • No release of His people.

    2. God touches the enemies land, water, and plant life .
    • No release of His people.
    3. God sent annoyances upon people in homes and surroundings..
    • No release of His people.

    4. God took the life of the first male of each family.
When God touched the enemies children, they freed God’s people.

Is there soon going to be a release of God’s people?
The Bible tells us there will be.

Which category are we in or are experiencing in USA ? 😢
