As I looked at the beautiful painting in the picture I thought I saw that Light was displayed by the star, the intensity of the colors and the message that the True Light has been born. Looking closer, there were shadows in the painting, which only further enhanced the colors of light. And there were reflectors….yellows and whites that seemed to reflect the sun’s own rays.
All three words seem to carry a special message for us.
The Light and the call to “Send the Light” was sung so beautifully and inspiring in the video.
The shadow of the Almighty tells us of a place of protection. Psalm 91:1 says “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” And Psalm 36:7 reminds us, “How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.”
And we have been asked to be a reflector of God’s glory. “But all of us who reflect the Lord’s glory with an unveiled face are being transformed into his own image, from one degree of glory to another. This too is from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Cor 3:18
I think even the “men” singing about the Light seemed to be reflectors in image and in blended voices as in a multi-mirror.
The glorious marvelous light we are when we willfully come out of darkness is astounding.
As we placed this art by an artist from NC into our yard again for the third year joy of singing praises and worship sprang forth from within of just what a story of living waters this old wooden board reflecting about the birth of a King, Priest and Judge. The long awaited Messiah has arrived. We live in his shadow. We light the world of His power by using the gifts He has imparted to us. We reflect His life from birth, to cross to death to resurrection to ascension and even to His return once again to earth! Hallelujah what a story!
What a beautiful display/ reminder to passerby’s, of what Jesus did many years ago …(He became flesh)….. Matthew 1 (NIV) says: “21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f] because he will save his people from their sins.”
“Light, Shadow or Reflector?”
