Grow Tall-Bloom Big-Make a Show

I’m growing daily

According to the Book of Samuel, an “evil spirit from the Lord” plagued King Saul, making him agitated and fearful of persecution. Because music was thought to have a therapeutic effect, the king summoned the hero and warrior David, who was renowned for his skill with the harp. (Ref I Samuel 16:14-23)

The Holy Spirit plays the Harp within our souls, inviting us to dance. “The Dance of Healing is within!”

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
—2 Corinthians 3:17 (NRSV)

  1. The footnotes for Corinthians 3:17 from the NIV says: “Those who were trying to be saved by keeping the Old Testament law were soon tied up in rules and ceremonies. But now, through the Holy Spirit, God provides freedom from sin and condemnation (Romans 8:1). When we trust Christ to save us, he removes our heavy burden of trying to please him and our guilt for failing to do so. By trusting Christ we are loved, accepted, forgiven, and freed to live for him. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” Encouraging words, from His Word! 🙏 beautiful sunflowers in the picture above 🌻 🌻

  2. This morning after this post and Tammy’s footnotes I was listening to Bill Gaither from Mark Lowery’s IPhone as he recorded live a concert from last night in Okla which Bill is doing a new video. Jeff and Sheri Easter p, with the writer of this song, were on stage singing I believe a song from their new album. I thought WOW Holy Spirit You are right as always, “ The Holy Spirit plays the Harp within our souls, inviting us to dance. “The Dance of Healing is within!”
    🎼Learning to Dance in the Rain
    by Jeff & Sheri Easter
    Album: You Are Loved

    🎼To the saint and the sinner
    The losers and winners
    Sometimes the rains gonna fall
    All the bad and the good
    The misunderstood
    Storms will come to us all
    Well I found the answer
    From heartache to cancer
    I thank him in spite of the pain
    Cause when I start praising
    Things begin changing
    By learning to dance in the rain

    I’m learning to smile when i feel like crying
    To live every day as if I were dying
    I’m learning the lesson of praising God through the pain
    I’m learning to stand when my heart is breaking
    To hold to the cross when my hands are shaking
    Lord through it all, I’m learning to dance in the rain

    When the clouds start to gather, bringing bad weather
    There’s no silver lining in sight
    When yours prayers have been prayed and the answers delayed
    And you’re holding on for dear life
    Whether you walk on water or if you falter
    He’ll be there when you call his name
    And you’ll get the victory and you’ll solve the mystery
    By learning to dance in the rain

    I’m learning to smile when i feel like crying
    To live every day as if I were dying
    I’m learning the lesson of praising God through the pain
    I’m learning to stand when my heart is breaking
    To hold to the cross when my hands are shaking
    Lord through it all, I’m learning to dance in the rain

    I’m learning to stand when my heart is breaking
    To hold to the cross when my hands are shaking
    Lord through it all, I’m learning to dance in the rain
    Lord through it all, I’m learning to dance in the rain🎼

  3. As I read the blog and especially Sara’s words,“The Holy Spirit plays the Harp within our souls, inviting us to dance. “The Dance of Healing is within!”, I thought of her retreat book she wrote many years ago, “The Dance of Healing – The Ultra-Healing Spirit Comes From Within.” There are many pictures of figures dancing, and invitations to dance. As I reviewed it, I saw the picture of a man playing a violin!. …and many other example pictures to help us to learn this Dance.

    The beautiful ”Learning to Dance in the Rain” song posted said:
    “And you’ll get the victory and you’ll solve the mystery
    By learning to dance in the rain”.

    I think this victory/mystery is helpfully explained in her book with words such as, “Christ-in-us the Mystery of the Word of God in all its fullness….Christ-in -us is the Mystery hidden in ages past but now revealed in each of us…To the Christ-in-us, we pray the Mystery of your Indwelling Presence will continue to fill us with Your glory. May we learn the Dance of Healing as we surrender to all the new steps you will teach us. We desire to bow and move to Your heart’s delight…Know this: The Mystery within us The Hope of our glory was and is and will always be the mastering of metaphors and similies.”

    And I agree with you, Tammy, that the sunflowers in Sara’s picture are beautiful!
    The blog title, “Grow Tall-Bloom Big-Make a Show” also illustrates for me (more metaphors and similies!) her book words, “Yes, Bloom, Bloom, said He, for I am The Lord of the Bloom…I am your partner…I am the DANCE AND I AM THE BLOOM…So Bloom and Dance and come to Me and you will find Healing for your Soul! Said He.”

  4. “Lord of the Dance” is a hymn with words written by English songwriter Sydney Carter in 1963. It follows the idea of a traditional English carol, “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day” which tells the gospel story in the first person voice of Jesus of Nazareth with the device of portraying Jesus’ life and mission as a dance.”

    Lord of the Dance
    🎼I danced in the morning when the world was begun,
    And I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun,
    And I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth:
    At Bethlehem I had my birth.

    Dance, then, wherever you may be,
    I am the Lord of the dance, said he,
    And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
    And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.

    I danced for the scribe and the Pharisee,
    But they would not dance and they wouldn’t follow me;
    I danced for the fishermen, for James and John;
    They came with me and the dance went on:

    Dance, then, wherever you may be,
    I am the Lord of the dance, said he,
    And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
    And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.

    I danced on the Sabbath and I cured the lame:
    The holy people said it was a shame.
    They whipped and they stripped and they hung me on high,
    And they left me there on a cross to die:

    Dance, then, wherever you may be,
    I am the Lord of the dance, said he,
    And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
    And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.

    I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black;
    It’s hard to dance with the devil on your back.
    They buried my body and they thought I’d gone;
    But I am the dance, and I still go on:

    Dance, then, wherever you may be,
    I am the Lord of the dance, said he,
    And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
    And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.

    They cut me down and I leapt up high;
    I am the life that’ll never, never die.
    I’ll live in you if you’ll live in me:
    I am the Lord of the dance, said he.

    Dance, then, wherever you may be,
    I am the Lord of the dance, said he,
    And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
    And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.🎼
