Psalm 36 A Psalm of David

”Sinners don’t respect God; sin is all they think about. They like themselves too much to hate their own sins or even to see them. They tell deceitful lies, and they don’t have the sense to live right. Those people stay awake, thinking up mischief, and they follow the wrong road, refusing to turn from sin. Your love is faithful, Lord, and even the clouds in the sky can depend on you. Your decisions are always fair. They are firm like mountains, deep like the sea, and all people and animals are under your care. Your love is a treasure, and everyone finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You give your guests a feast in your house, and you serve a tasty drink that flows like a river. The life-giving fountain belongs to you, and your light gives light to each of us.

A flame of love
“Hope speaks Life and life speaks Hope” Sara’s thoughts

”Our Lord, keep showing love to everyone who knows you, and use your power to save all whose thoughts please you. Don’t let those proud and merciless people kick me around or chase me away. Look at those wicked people! They are knocked down, never to get up again.“

  1. “A flame of love”
    “Hope speaks Life and life speaks Hope” Sara’s thoughts”

    Your “thoughts”, Sara, give us a lot to think on, as does the flame photo which looks to me like a “life-giving fountain “.

    Just reading your blog and scriptures says to me that your words are Hope and they speak Life.

    This verse seems to go along with your “thoughts”…that flow…“Hope speaks Life and life speaks Hope”…
    “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 NLT

    1. I WANT TO ADD VS 12 TO DEBI’S COMMENT FROM ROMANS 15:13…because we trust in him, the Messiah, Redeemer, Savior, Lord, King, the Rock, Jesus! “We will place our Hope on him.” “Hope speaks Life and life speaks Hope” Sara’s thoughts”
      ”… Isaiah said, “The heir to David’s throne will come, and he will rule over the Gentiles. They will place their hope on him.”

  2. I found 100 Bible Verses about Fire. Sharing a few for us to ponder…

    Hebrews 12:29 ESV
    “For our God is a consuming fire.”

    Luke 3:16 ESV
    “John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

    Psalm 104:4 ESV
    “He makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire.”

    Luke 12:49 ESV
    “I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled!”

    1. …Isiah 43:1,2
      “Look at the fire flame in this verse…(NIV)
      “But now, this is what the Lord says-he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:
      “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
      I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
      2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
      and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
      When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
      the flames will not set you ablaze.” Why would you not want to put your trust in a God that loves you like this?”

      ”Descendants of Jacob, I, the Lord, created you and formed your nation. Israel, don’t be afraid. I have rescued you. I have called you by name; now you belong to me. When you cross deep rivers, I will be with you, and you won’t drown. When you walk through fire, you won’t be burned or scorched by the flames.“

  4. Tammy’s comments and especially , “When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” reminded me of an incident where 3 men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, lived in such a way that this proved to be true in their dire situation.

    From an account about King Nebuchadnezzar and a gold statue he had set up in Daniel 3:12, it said that these three men “…refuse to serve your gods and do not worship the gold statue you have set up.”

    And the Lord rescued them.
    “So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that “the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke!” Vs 27

    Daniel 2: 29 says this about those three men:
    “He sent his angel to rescue his servants who trusted in him. They defied the king’s command and were willing to die rather than serve or worship any god except their own God. “ Vs. 29

    “From Tammy Holton…please pray for us as we strieve to find out why her comments are not posting from her devices.”
    I join in prayers that this issue is quickly and completely resolved so that Tammy can post on The Daily Lily.
