Paul, the Apostle of Jesus wrote, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” 1 Corinthians 3:6 (NIV)

“It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.
The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work.” vs 7,8
WOW! Just WOW! Pause and think on this! 💝

“The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work.” vs 7,8”
Your photo, Sara, sure does illustrate this! Both uncle and niece look focused and intent on this team effort. And looks like others will have a part in making the strawberry harvest a real success and fun time!
I love how you encourage, exhort and remind us with words, scriptures and visuals how seedtime and harvest works in God’s economy, along with mutual rewards.
I read in Genesis just the other day how God started, and how He controls how plants began, and how they grow and multiply, assuring us that if a strawberry is planted, a strawberry will eventually be harvested. “Then God said, “Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.” And that is what happened. The land produced vegetation—all sorts of seed-bearing plants, and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.” Genesis 1:11-12
Reading Debi”s comment on the Biblical teaching of seed time and harvest made me think of this prayer so often heard and prayed with new eyes and understanding.
“Day by day, dear Lord,
of thee three things I pray;
to see thee more clearly,
to love thee more dearly,
to follow thee more nearly,
day by day.”
—prayer attributed to Richard of Chichester, England, 13th century
The footnotes for 1 Corinthians 3:7-9 says:(NIV)”God’s work involves many different individuals with a variety of gifts and abilities. There are no superstars in this task, only team members performing their own special roles. We can become useful members of God’s team by setting aside our desire to receive glory from what we do. Don’t seek the praise that comes from people- it is comparatively worthless. Instead, seek approval from God.”
That is a great picture of a little DOLL and her uncle working together!🥰💜💙
Tammy, thanks for the footnotes. And, for the strawberry ice cream producing photo comment. 🍓 I also enjoy the footnotes as they often shine a light on how to. This one did. My first thought was this scripture. Matthew 23:11-12 NIV “The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Imagine a church team working from this perspective.
I recently heard an interview of a sports team coach being honored. I don’t even know his name or team. But, I remember what he said he learned over many years of coaching and keeping his life in balance for all to be winners. It takes “love and humility.” I think Jesus, the Master Teacher and The Holy Spirit, the Master Coach would agree with him. Don’t you?
Colossians 3:14(AMP)
“Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others].”
Galatians 3:28 “reminds readers that we are all one in Jesus Christ and our superficial differences are nothing. There can still be true fellowship among believers of different cultures and classes because of the love of Jesus Christ that binds us together.”
I think the video song “Bind us Together” that Sara shared is a great example of what Tammy’s footnotes said: “ There are no superstars in this task, only team members performing their own special roles”. The prayer words of the song ask for all members to be bound together (bind: “cohere or cause to cohere in a single mass.”). Their unique voices did just that… and made one beautiful sound.
