Tammy Holton

Thank you, Tammy, for inviting us to join in this study on “The Story”, led by your pastor, Daniel Davenport! It sounded so interesting I jumped in to listen last night to a sermon from 9/1/24 where Pastor Davenport introduced the book and then preached a great sermon on “The Upper and Lower Story”. In that sermon, he let us know that in the story of our lives, we may live in the day to day Lower Story, but that God has a plan and purpose in His Upper Story that we may not see or understand. What I understood from it was that God is at work in His Upper Story and we need to trust him. He pointed to Job as an example. Job’s trust in God produced a great result in the end, though Job could not see this when he was going through the lower story.
I am looking forward to listening to Pastor Davenport’s sermon on chapter 1.
Thanks for you input Debi. I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store, through this study. Glad you are joining in 🙏🙏🙏
I enjoyed listening to the sermon on the first chapter of “The Story”, “Creation The Beginning of Life as We Know It”, and following the points he made on the creation story in Genesis; God’s perfect world; and then the fall of Adam and Eve. Pastor Davenport emphasized God as the only Creator, who created out of nothing…unlike we humans who may be creative, but always have to start with something to be able to ‘create’. This seemed to further reinforce what he said in the previous sermon about Upper vs Lower Story…that God is powerfully working in His Upper Story and we cannot see it or even understand.
He further said that human beings are unique because only humans are made in His image, (Genesis 1:26), and our purpose is to reflect God.🙏
