The Moon is…

“They (we) know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them (us). For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they (we) have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT)

‬‬The LORD is a safe place for the oppressed a safe place in difficult times.
(Psalm 9:9 CEB)

“The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.” (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭9‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT)‬‬

  • Psalm 136:9: “The moon is a testament to God’s enduring love
  • Psalm 121:6: The moon is a symbol of God’s protective care over His people
  • Isaiah 30:26: The moon is depicted symbolically as reflecting the glory of God’s future kingdom”

Have you ever felt fear, doubt and unbelief? I have? There have been times I thought others to be “Light” only to find darkness. And, others have felt that way about me. Surely, we have seen times we thought we had it right and they in their blindness, like us, also thought they had it right. We close the door and lock ourselves, at least our minds, away until they agree with us. That probably will never happen.

Mind Movies running 24/7! Do we reallly want to, or know others that want to play the villain in their own movie?

We only have to open our door or even a window and look up to realize God with us! God in us! God loves us!

A few nights ago when the world news surely distorted my faith I walked my precious goldendoodle to the door and “The Moon” greeted me!

Do you have a moon story? A moon song? A moon poem? A moon…? one that has helped you to make you faith stronger?

  1. What a beautiful and dramatic photo, Sara. It really shows the contrast of the Light and darkness you wrote about; and it gives life and meaning to the three scriptures about the moon. And I love your moon story and all you wrote and shared…so encouraging!

Sara, you asked, “Do you have a moon story? A moon song? A moon poem? A moon…? one that has helped you to make you faith stronger?”

Well, late yesterday afternoon I was driving home and thinking on some of the dark news and chaos and events that seem to take up such space in the atmosphere. And then I saw a flock of geese in the evening sky flying in perfect formation and I said God you are a wonderful Creator! You are in control. Just look how they fly in perfect formation, following their leader, honking away above the earth noise of traffic, loud vehicles, and blaring horns from impatient drivers! And then this am, on my way to work, I look toward the sky in front of me and there is another flock; so orderly, precise, and confident, flying with the unique navigation system that the Lord created them with, to their destination. They sure brought a sense of joy and encouragement.

They remind me of this scripture from Matthew 6:26: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

    1. 1 Corinthians 14:40But all things should be done decently and in order.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;”

Even a flock of geese know order! They know seasons and timing! They understand the value and benefits of gathering together and flying in a skein.

  2. Sara asked……”have you ever felt fear, doubt, or unbelief?” We could all probably say yes to this, at least, at some point in our lives? Thanks for sharing the beautiful picture of the moon, but especially reminding us of the Scriptures above that tells us how much God loves us! ✝️

    1. Thanks Tammy for reminding us this morning about our Scriptures reminding us about how much God loves us.

“…encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
      ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Thanks Tammy and Debi for living out your faith for all to see and hear how much they are loved by God.
