Feel free to fear!
“The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil.”
Proverbs 19:23 NKJV
“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”
Psalms 34:11 NKJV
Proverbs 1:7 – 7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
The fear of the Lord “…is about a deep reverence, a respect, and awe for God’s holiness, power, and authority. It’s a posture of humility, acknowledging God’s supremacy and greatness, and responding with obedience and love.”
Recently I’ve noticed the overload from news and churches alike seems to be one in unity for one. I may be extremely naive in my thoughts and beliefs since I believe ‘The ONE’ to be-in unity with is;
(Matthew 22:32) “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’ ? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
The Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth says,
I am the resurrection, and the life.” (John 11:25.) In His arraignment before Caiaphas, He was asked, “Art thou the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the Blessed?” He answered, “I am.” (Mark 14:61, 62.) Jesus declared His Messiahship by direct testimony.
“The Holy Spirit, along with the Father and Son, makes up the one God, who is understood as a single being existing in three distinct persons.”
“The Holy Spirit is associated with various works, including creating, regenerating, sanctifying, convicting of sin, and empowering believers for service.”

In Luke 21:28, Jesus instructs his followers to “stand up and raise your heads,” because their redemption is drawing near.
“…that people will know fear, that earth and heaven will traumatized, and that “’Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and glory.” …Luke 21:27

Sara, thanks for helping us “Feel free to fear The Lord…” by your words of understanding here, accompanied by such a beautiful photo!
Some of what I understand from what you wrote is: fear God and be alive; don’t fear God and stay dead. Be in unity with God, His Son and the Holy Spirit and be alive; be unified (or united) to something or someone else and be dead.
A scripture came to mind after reading this blog from Psalm 86:11. It really is a prayer: “Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.” Yes, Lord, because I really do want to “stand up and raise your heads,” as Sara wrote and ’’…see the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and glory.” …Luke 21:27:
Debi, you quote a prayer from Psalms 86:11, “Unite my heart to fear Your name.” In the prayer we also acknowledge, for He alone is God….
“For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.”Psalms 86:10-11 NKJVhttps://bible.com/bible/114/psa.86.10-11.NKJV
Thank you Sara, for sharing that we can and should “feel free to fear the Lord”. I believe the Bible tells us several times to fear not, but fearing the Lord, as you have written here says knowledge and wisdom may follow
The Footnotes for Proverbs 1: 7-9 says (NLT) “ In this age of information, knowledge is plentiful, but wisdom is scarce. Wisdom means far more than simply knowing a lot. It is a basic attitude that affects every aspect of life. The foundation of knowledge is to fear the Lord, to honor and respect God, to live in awe of his power, and to obey his Word. faith in God should be the controlling principle of your understanding of the world, your attitudes, and your actions. Trust in God, he will make you truly wise.”
love, love, love these footnotes. Thank you Tammy.
