Quote for the week-end

“There is a wonderful mythical law of nature that the three things we crave most in life — happiness, freedom, and peace of mind — are always attained by giving them to someone else.”
– Peyton Conway March

As we honor and celebrate Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter let us remember to give. Jesus gave His life for us. We have happiness, freedom and peace of mind because of Him. Because of His death and resurrection. So we are capable of giving these gifts to others by using the gifts He has given us to give to others.

Matthew 10:8 “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” vs. 14 “And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.”

Easter brings us such freedom!!!

  1. Yes, what Christ did on the Cross for us was complete and total salvation. It was like a TREASURE package. His death purchased our salvation and assurance of entering Heaven when we trust Him and RECEIVE that Treasure in our Hearts. His death purchased our healing by the stripes on His back, for our diseases, the crown of Thorns for our PEACE OF MIND and MENTAL ACUITY and the PEACE & LIBERTY that passes all understanding. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. What a wonderful GOD!!!! And then HE sealed it all by rising from the Dead and enforcing the contract that He made with THE FATHER for us!! He gave us peace, liberty and set us on the Path to Heaven. Those of us who believe already live in Eternity. It’s just that the scenery is just a little DIFFERENT right now.
Thank YOU Jesus for Your unspeakable sacrifice and resurrection.

  2. Your opening quote by Peyton Conway March gives me an enlarged meaning of Paul’s words in Acts 20:35 where he exhorted us to remember the words of the Lord Jesus Christ , “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Not only is it a blessing to others to give, but it it how we obtain our blessing. This is one way to ‘catch happiness’ that you refer to in your blog from March 9 ‘Happiness Belongs to you”. I have seen it happen in my own life so many times as I give.
