Dormancy from “The Dance of Healing.” by Sara
A note from my Journal “Farming ‘Spiritual’ Retreat ’06:
In reviewing my notes I realized I had been suffering from emotional trauma. I feel I am healed in these areas after our retreat and the love I received.
In the process of cultivating inner beauty I understand we are told, your outside must line up with your inside,,,but I found if your inside has more of you than Christ, that’s what shows up and its’ awful not awesome’. You may think its not a good thing, but I’ve found it is especially if your working to change things, you need to know and see what kind of weed needs to be removed or what kind of seed needs to be planted…and there is shock ,there is trauma when you get a real look at you in you instead of Christ in You…I know this for myself….I looked up shock it means=a violent shock or jar….and trauma means= an injury caused by an extrinsic agent such as (surgical trauma) web.dictionary)….But when you do like Isaiah 40:31 says They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…and remember Christ in us is our Hope of Glory and do what the Lord says (His Word)…then there is hope…to make it….the Dance that is……this I wanted to share because this is where I am….dj

Thank you for such an insightful blog. It is horrifying to see a weed when we thought there was a beautiful landscape for Jesus in our lives. What surprises me the most is that sometimes we look at the landscape and don’t even see the weeds. How sad God must be when He looks down from heaven and sees that we did not put the right glasses on. He cleans our muddied glasses through a fairy (someone who comes along side us to help in a moment when it is needed most). Through this person’s help we are able to see the weed, name it, and with Jesus’s help it is extracted. We thank God for the scripture Isaiah 40:31, a promise that encourages us in our walk and dance through life.
These are helpful comments Dorothy. I especially like your insight about weeds. It made me think that in agriculture we learn to control pests (weeds, insects, diseases) using Integrated Pest Management techniques (IPM). IPM is effective because rule #1 is to scout or monitor for pests or weeds and then properly identify what they are so you will know how to effectively manage them. In other words…always look for the root cause. For me I learned as a result of the retreat that if there is confusion showing up in my life’s field than look for the weeds of self-seeking and envy (James 3:16). Dealing with and killing these will eradicate the confusion.
Dorothy, I am glad your journal worked for you and you have it to refer back to for notes throughout the year.
I have enjoyed your sharing your notes and giving us thoughts to think about. Maybe soon you can write a blog on “waiting on the Lord” from Isaiah 40:31
Dorothy, what a great blog with so many lessons for us. Is. 40:31 was one of
my grandmother’s favorite scriptures. As I reread it again, I began to focus
on it and what God may be teaching us, in just this one scripture. “They that
WAIT” made me think of patience. I feel that God does want us to learn
patience, especially in the “instant gratification” world that we live in.
The word patience or patient is mentioned quite a bit in God’s Word. Here are
just some of the scriptures that reference patience or patient:
Rom. 15:5, 2:4, 12:12
Gal. 5:22
Col. 1:11, 3:12
2Tim. 3:10
Titus 2:2
Jas.5:10, 5:8
2Pet.3:15
1Cor.4:12, 13:4
1Thes. 5:14
1Pet.3:20
Rev. 14:12
I believe God commands patience.
I thought on this word and I thought of how patient and long suffering and kind and loving God our Father is….He is so patient not wanting any to perish but that all should be saved and come to Him……..How loving and how patient……yes I agree He commands patience…..dj
As Needles mentioned… Galatians 5:22…” the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, vs. 24…Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25…Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in STEP with the Spirit.
I understand from the above scriptures if we are to dance to “The Dance of Healing” we have to keep in STEP with the music and the dance steps of the Spirit. Of course Vs. 19 and 20 of Galatians 5 will tell us what we are dancing to if we are not dancing to the Spirit.
I thought of this many times at ’06 “The Dance of Healing Retreat” when Wendy did not want to line dance with me because I had the wrong foot in at the wrong time. Well, I was out of step and that is very serious when it comes to patience, and the other colors of the fruit of the Spirit. (Trouble for me) I may feel the spirit inside but I need to know by knowledge and that is “God’s Word” and understand the dance steps. Just as I could feel the line dance, the joy, the fun, and the want to, but, I failed to understand there was order to the dance and Wendy didn’t want to dance with me.
In the same manner, God instructed us to understand that if we are living outside His command (again, Tammy’s words, “I believe God commands patience”) then we are out of step with the Spirit whether we feel it or not.
I agree with Tammy many lessons to learn from Doroth’s blog. And, Dorothy is so right we need out outside to line up with our inside. Good job and a great dance to practice, learn and enjoy. Thanks Dorothy and Tammy.
