In class the other day we were studying the three states of matter. I hope
this will be an exciting experience for the young at heart and those who are
about the age of my students (11 years old). First pour 1/2 cup of whole
milk into a quart sized baggy. Place 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2
tablespoons of sugar in the milk and seal the bag. Place the quart sized
baggy in a gallon sized ziploc baggy. Cover the quart sized baggy with as
much ice as you can. Cover the ice with 1/4 cup salt. Seal the large bag
tightly. Shake and toss it until the ice cream is semi solid. Some of the
students on our hallway added chocolate to their milk. For all you young
scientist, remember that the salt lowers the freezing point of the water
which causes your mixture to become solid. This is a tasty treat that you
get a lot of exercise when doing. Hope you young people out their enjoy it
as much as my class did. Happy ice cream making!

I love ice cream, but this looks too hard for me without my frineds chickenfarmer and needles. So we will schedule this for the next retreat.
