Personal information
Biography:
I have recently graduated from college and am currently working in Atlanta, GA in order to pay for graduate school at New York University in the Fall of 2007. I am so excited and blown away day after day at the ways that God is working and is moving to allow me to be a part of His beautiful plan. I have a passion for bringing hope to the people of other nations, especially the people of Uganda; this is the thing that makes my heart race and is what I truly believe that God has created me to do.

Dear Lindsey,
I’m so excited about what God is doing in your life. I was thrilled that you extended an invitation to me last night to be apart this next summer of teachers reaching out to teachers in that country. Please tell us more about Uganda and this adventure of love for God.
Love, Rena
Hi Lindsey…We are so excited to hear from you and your passion. We are thrilled and happy to pray for and support Rena in prayer as she seeks God for the right decision in this journey and season of her life.
I would like to share with you my feelings about Rena and the invitation you have extended to her. You could not invite one more qualified in every-way to be a part of this teaching team in Uganda. Rena was with me on a team to India. She did a beautiful job with the children of this great Nation. She is the very best supporter and intercessor for team work in international ministry to children and women. Rena is a jewel in every-way imaginable and a wonderful friend of mine as well.
I believe that God has prepared Rena for such a time as this. I do hope you will share more about your ministry and how God is using you. I will pray for you and this ministry as I do have a passion for Uganda and Ghana and – The situation of widows and children.
THEME: Inheritance practices can increase food insecurity among widows and their dependent children.
May God open all the right doors for you and Rena and your team as you walk toward this goal with great focus.
Passion…passion for bringing hope to people of other nations…this is awsome…and with a heart that races for the things of God ..one can not help but pray Lord God Grant her the desires of her heart….Welcome once again Lindsey to the Daily Lily…dj

Hi Grace! Thank you so much for your sweet encouragement. I don’t know what kind of role model I may or may not be, but I know that God has incredible things in store for you as you continue to trust and love Him. Mrs. O has also told me many wonderful things about you, such wonderful things that it made me want to meet you just to know such a neat heart. I read some of your writing, and I believe that God is going to use you in a very exciting way as an instrument of life and encouragement to others. Keep placing that gift in His hands, and I can’t wait to hear more from you soon! Have a beautiful day!
In His love,
Lindsey
What excitement and joy we detect in your testimony of doing the work of the New Testament in Uganda. It reminds me of the Book Of ACTS and Paul’s missionary journeys, spreading the Gospel of Love and Salvation.
Bringing hope to the nations is one of thedailylily.com’s goals and focus, also. We are thrilled to read your writings and await the things you will tell us about Uganda and what the Lord has for His people there. We are praying for you.
You are a burning and a shining light. What a treasure in an earthen vessel.! WELCOME!
Hi Lindsey
It’s great to read about you, your plans and your passion. And it’s especially inspiring that you know that this is what God created you to do. I am looking forward to hearing more about you and these plans. Welcome!
Wow, thank you so much to all of you for extending such a warm welcome to me and for expressing such abundant support and encouragement in what God is doing. It’s so exciting to hear so many of you respond so quickly and wholeheartedly in an act of support of what He is leading me to do. Thank you a million times over for being so kind.
I thought I might take a minute to allow you to grasp a clearer understanding of the ways you can pray as these plans unfold. Before I even tell you that, though, I want you to know that God is constantly reminding me of Proverbs 16:1 – “People may make plans in their minds, but only the Lord can make them come true.” There is nothing that is coming about as a result of any great ideas or any work of mine…it is only by submitting to the desires of Christ that these things are taking place. He has made it clear what He wants to do, and I have said that I would love to be a part of it. With that being said, here is the vision He has given me for this summer.
I don’t know how much you may or may not know about the history of Uganda, but right now they are coming out of a 20+ year civil war in which over 30,000 children were abducted and forced to fight as child soldiers and countless more were killed and left without homes or parents. Not only that, this nation has been hit especially hard with AIDS, malaria, and poverty. However, right now is a pivotal time for the people of Uganda, for this is a window in which they have the potential to emerge a newly restored and hope-filled nation. I believe that it is vital we intervene during this window to help lay a solid foundation in order to ensure that these children really can break free from this cycle of poverty and war.
As many of you know, the best way to do this is through education, equipping them with the life skills and knowledge they need to secure a job and find hope for the future. Unfortunately, school is very expensive in Uganda, and most children simply cannot afford to go. There are also many men and women who have been blessed to receive some education and would like to help teach these children, but they certainly can’t afford to pay to go to a university to receive that kind of training. As such, I will be taking a team of teachers and former education majors to Uganda this summer to hold a month-long training seminar for those who want to learn to teach. We will be pouring into them and teaching them to utilize the most effective methods of teaching, training them in the ways that we ourselves have been trained. As such, we will be equipping them to then equip others, not only the students but even other potential teachers. You know, countless lives have been touched from men and women investing in a specific group of students during mission trips. But imagine how much further those ripples could reach if the trip is only the launching point, the catalyst for a movement of learning and equipping that continues to spread to generation after generation of students who come through those classrooms, from village to village as teachers share their knowledge and experiences with one another.
This is the adventure upon which we will be embarking this summer. I believe that God has hand-picked a very small group of women for this trip, but each one seems to bring such a vitally unique and integral asset to this team. It’s so exciting I can barely contain myself at the thought of it – my heart feels as if it is going to burst when I think of what God has invited us to be a part of. All the while, I believe that we will be doing so much more than simply teaching the basics of education. We will be discipling these women, instilling in them a passion to lead their students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as we seek to do that very thing in their lives during our time with them. Isn’t it beautiful? Would you please pray that God would continue to give us guidance and blessings as He opens door after door of opportunity? Also, I have invited Rena to join us in this adventure, so please pray that she would have the wisdom to know the ways that the Lord wants her to serve, be it through prayer from home or working alongside us on the field, shining that beautiful light from her face for all of Uganda to see. Thank you again for your encouragement, thank you for your time in reading this, and thank you for your prayers. You guys truly seem to be such a beautiful picture of the Body. Thank you even for that example.
In His love,
Lindsey
Lindsey,
I am excited that you are so diligent, about the work of Christ! I like what you said, “submitting to the desires of Christ.” We all know that God’s desire is that no one perish, (John 3:16). I pray that God will magnify the effectiveness, of the gifts that this team has to offer, to the people of Uganda.
Dear Lindsey,
This morning after praying about the trip to Uganda and continuing with my day, the Lord suddenly spoke and said, “You are going.” I’m so excited that God has chosen me to help these wonderful people of Uganda and to be apart of the team. I even received an offering from a lady who at their church had been given a reverse offering where they had to give to someone else that God laid on their hearts. When I told her about the trip, she said the Holy Spirit said “Give”.
Love, Rena
I agree with your decision to go and count myself and our church, CCI, on the giving to go and prayer support.
Rena I am so excited that you are going as part of the team to Uganda for you have so many wonderful gifts and talents to share with the women and children of Uganda and to help the team with! And I am happy to be counted with CCI to support you in this as Sara said above.
And Amen!!!!dj
Rena to be Chosen by God and have the Lord speak to you and say “You are going”….this is awsome…God has equiped and readied you for this and oh the joy and blessings that are going to burst forth from you and the team upon those that recieve….for the children and the people of Uganda….I pray the Lord Jesus Keep and protect this whole team and the preparations and all that is envolved before now and after…and that nothing hindering will be acomplished against this move of God…GO TEAM!….dj
Lindsey as I read your article above my heart almost burst with excitement of the CALL OF GOD ON YOUR LIFE and those of the chosen that God will send with you. It brought to mind immediately the Scripture from Luke 24:32 from the ROAD story after encountering the risen Christ on the ROAD TO EMMAUS, they said one to another, “DID NOT OUR HEARTS BURN WITHIN US, WHILE HE TALKED WITH US BY THE WAY AND OPENED TO US THE WORD?”
Sounds like your encounter with the living CHRIST is setting your heart afire and those who particpate and become involved in whatever way with what the Lord is calling you to do. And we will pray for those precious people to whom you will be sent to minister, that they would receive all that GOD has contained in you all to give to those lovely Ugandan people! What a blessing. GOD IS REAL!!!
We bless you and we will pray, as Sara has said.
Thank you Lindsey for telling us more about this trip to Uganda and some of the needs there. I will add my prayers to others here at The Daily Lily that God would give you and the team the guidance and blessings and doors of opportunity that you have requested. I am sure many, many lives will be helped and changed through this teaching and discipling effort this summer.
