Find the King

Once upon a time there were three worker bees named, Peter, Noah, and Jacob. They were looking for honey until Peter was hit with an idea. We shall find our beloved queen a king, who will adore her and praise her. He will be beautiful!
All the bees stood in excitement till Noah said, Where will we find such a king.
The three bees were on there search until they reached a king who was very handsome.
To see if the king is thoughtful we will see if he will feed us as if we were poor, said Jacob.
As the three bees went up to the handsome king they were order to stop by him with an, Ewwwwwww! Look at those foolish clothes! GET OUT, SCRAM, AND BEAT IT! The bees knew only a thoughtful king would be good enough for their queen.
Next the bees saw the strongest honey bee ever! They knew their queen needs a king that is kind so they acted like a weak old man trying to cross the street.
As they went across they shouted, Help me cross the street sir.
The bee just walked on by not even caring and just saying, Sorry. I’m just to busy right now. The bees were astonished! How can someone walk by when someone is in need? He did not share his talents the Lord had given him!
Wow what a smart king ahead. The queen always wanted a smart bee in her life. To see if the bee has such a heart we shall ask him a question about himself to see if he does it without him bragging, said Jacob.
When they asked the bee the question he replied by saying, Let me tell you about me! I am the smartest king you will EVER bump into. No king for the queen should insult or brag about ones difficulties and talents. Of course he continued to boast.
The bees started to give up.
Is there a king that is PERFECT? Our queen deserves the best, they all cried!
They saw a man pat there back telling them, I herd your little cry and the hurtful things those bees did to you and I would like to make it up to you. How would I be as the king? I am a king but every one of God’s creatures is perfect. I would love to help you with my whole heart, the strange man said.
The bees looked at him realizing that he was not handsome, strong, nor he was smart but there was something about that made his heart shine! He was helpful, wonderful, and PERFECT! He was the one.
What is your name, the three bees asked?
My name is Jesus, the strange man answered.
Can you be our queen’s king The three bees asked
Of course I can. I will also be your king because I am God’s son! Jesus replied
Finally, we found the king! The three bees shouted.

  1. Hi Grace,
What a beautiful story. In the bible it says that we are the bride and Jesus is our groom. The scripture that stands out the most to me is John 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him (in your story the bees) rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice…. In Jer 33:11 it mentions that His voice is of joy, and of gladness. Aren’t we so glad that Jesus is so gracious with his conversation with us that it causes joy to over flow in us like an overflowing pot. This makes you want to reach out and hug Him with our praises. Merry Christmas!
Let your love of Him continue to overflow and touch others.

Your teacher and friend in Jesus,
    Mrs.O

    1. You are so sweet! Thank you! I think What a beautiful story. In the bible it says that we are the bride and Jesus is our groom when I read our story! Remeber I learned all this from you! I really would be nothing without you! Thanks again!
      Your Friend,
      Grace

  2. Grace I love to read stories about bees because my name Deborah means ‘the bee’. I learned so much about bees from your story. Your three bees reminded me of the Wise Men seeking that perfect Star that shines to light men’s hearts. Your bees were hard-working seekers who wouldn’t give up until they had found the King. And their search told me much about how wicked heart’s can be if they don’t know and aren’t searching for the King like your three bees. Thank you for doing such an excellent job with this story lesson.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. You understood the lesson. I am happy talking to you! I am glad I am on the daily lily.
      With Faith,
      Grace

  3. You have woven some of the parables of Jesus into a beautiful story. When I read your words “Look at those foolish clothes! GET OUT, SCRAM, AND BEAT IT!” I thought of the Parable of the Marriage Feast in Matthew 22:7-13.

I like how the three bees were so diligent and found the King. I hope you will continue with your writings, they are great.

    Many Blessings to you Grace,
    Sara

    1. You should write stories. Just think of all you know about Jesus and write about it. It doesn’t have to be for children. You could do a book about prayers. My paster wrote a book called Comen words, Uncomen Prayers. It could be for everyone!

      1. Thank you Grace, I would love to write about prayers and read your Pastors book on Prayer. Are we able to buy it in the book stores? I think it is so important to pray and we have so many things to pray about. Thank you for encouraging me again,

Hope you keep your storeis coming as we are all enjoying them so much. We are sharing them with other children and adults as well. We all just love your stories and TOTO’s as well.

  4. Grace! Dynamite story with multi-lessons throughout the plot. Other kids would love to read this kind of story. It contains lessons on the virtues…we call it Character Ed…. which we are teaching our students at my school. Each virtue (like the ones the bees had) is called a pillar. You wrote in a most fascinating way about the virtues, the fine character that the Bees displayed. Then your ending had great impact when you revealed the PERFECTION of CHARACTER AND VIRTUE, JESUS!! Just “perfect”! You are a “perfect” story-teller! Keep on writing and teaching lessons in your stories.

    1. Hi, thank you for your kind words. If you are a teacher you must wright. Share a story on thedailylily.com! I hope I see your story!

      1. Thank YOU, Grace, for encouraging others to do what you so skillfully and lovingly do…WRITE! I see a bit of MRS. O in there, somewhere. Perhaps I shall write some of my things on Lily, soon. Thanks for the good advice and counsel. You are an inspirational author!!

      2. Grace & Toto…I would love to read your stories to my second grade classes if you will allow me to do that. I made a little booklet of Mrs. O’s stories and read them to some of my students and they loved them. It would be so wonderful to present Grace’s and Toto’s stories to my students and then tell them that fifth grade girls wrote these excellent stories. Don’t you KNOW that would be an incredible inspriation for those young children to emulate and be encouraged and challenged to write stories, also? Your stories are about virtue and faith and character and kindness. There are not many stories that children can read at school like that. What a great service you could do to inspire students younger than yourselves, or even older students when they discover such talented offerings come from elementary school students like yourselves. I would appreciate it if you gave me permission to read your stories to the children.
        Thank you.

      3. Grace, so sweet of you to encourage MG to write. If you go under teaching on The Daily lily and go to Frogs II, you can read some of MG’s writings.

You are such an encourager. When we read about Barnabas in God’s Word we think of an encourager. Of course the Holy Spirit is an encourager. And, God gives the gift of exhortation. I think you have it. Thanks for encouraging all of us.

  5. Grace it is hard to believe that you are so young and yet you write with such wisdom and truth,,,and yet when Christ is alive in a heart such as yours there can be nothing but wonder and beauty and wisdom that pours out….This story caused me to remember what the Lord said in Matthew 25: 35-46….the people had treated other people just like those bee kings had treated the 3 bees….And Jesus said the way you treated the other people…that wasnt them that you were treating badly ..It was Me….you treated badly…(Grace your story is so full and rich with Gods words …keep on writing and keep on learning about all it take to be a good author everything about publishing…and most of all keep on building your knoweledge of the Bible and Jesus and The Father and the Holy Spirit….and thank you for sharing this story….you didnt just share it with us here at the Daily Lily….you shared it with the whole world wide web….and thats awsome……

    1. Thank you! You also have a heart for God. Everytime I get on thedailylily.com I wonder, what will Dorothy say next. Your heart shows and you keep me going throughout the day!
      With Faith,
      Grace
