Because it’s just Destiny

Here is a poem I wrote. It helps me remember God and Jesus are in charge of my destiny. Only God and Jesus know. My song is called ‘Because it’s just Destiny.’
I still believe in destiny
Right there hand and hand
With the Master I worship
And his Son that I love
Will I stay strong
I still believe in destiny
With heaven coming
And a future I don’t see
What will it be
I don’t know
I don’t know
It’s just destiny
Oh, Destiny
Destiny God made for me
With the help of his Son
Who will help me get done
I see and I know they are with me
Because it’s just destiny
Oh, Oh, It’s just destiny

  1. Dearest Grace,
Thank you for posting this beautiful poem. God and Jesus are in our destiny. When I grew up in Virginia I never thought that I would live any other place. God sent me to India to see his beautiful smiling children there. He sent me to Louisiana to work with His beautiful, smiling children there. Next he will be sending me to Africa to see the beautiful smiling children there. Oh destiny, where will the Lord Jesus take me next? I trust Him for He only wants whats GOOD for me. I thank the Lord for allowing me to touch the lives of so many children, especially you and Toto and everyone I have ever had in my classroom. I pray that I will get to see or hear of your destiny as it unfolds like a beautiful rose whose fragrance is sweet to JESUS and all those in the world oh know HIS name. May the Lord bless you as you let YOUR LIGHT SHINE and bring many to know His son.

  2. Grace! You gave much food for thought in your wonderful song/poem “Destiny”. In my Roget’s, the word DESTINY has such exciting meanings.
Destiny: “appointment, commitment, devotion, consecration, fortune, predestined, future, ordained”!
I believe our LORD has much for you to do as you have sensed, yourself, in the theme of this poem.
It is exciting to read such valuable concepts put forth in your writings by such a young student of THE WORD.
I pray you continue in the WAY that you should go; that your writings show forth your devotion to the LORD JESUS CHRIST with, as your very own name reveals…(GRACE); good taste, skill, honor, favor, virtue and beauty.
    Excellent! A++++++++++++++++ to infinity!

  3. Grace, this is a very beautiful and deep song..it speaks of the longing in ones heart for the things and desires of God…to walk in His ways and fulfill His wants and desires…it reminds me of the 23rd Psalm..”The Lord is my shepard; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goddness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”,,,This is what your song/poem causes one to think of Grace..it could fit right in the Psams of David….

  4. Grace,
What an awesome poem! Although you have stated that your future is something you don’t see, it is clear that you know who is in charge of your destiny! What a great testimony, Grace! (Ephesians 2:10) says: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (NLT) Grace, keep remembering that you are God’s masterpiece and He will help you complete your destiny! Thanks for sharing your poem!

  5. Grace your poem reminds me of Isaiah 49:16 where God says ..”See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.”
What a secure place to be carried.
And the other verse I thought of related to what you wrote was Philippians 1:6″…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” He certainly has begun such a work in you as your faith, confidence and willingness to share and write about the things He does for you shows. God bless and keep you always in His loving care.

  6. Grace, you have such a beautiful command of words and I love that… but God loves it even more. The Word of God left us so many wonderful scriptures confirming this great artistic and magnificent gift to us.

One of my very favorite prayers from the Psalmist of 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

Thank you Grace for sharing life with us in the ‘form of words’…for His word also says their is life and death in the power of words. May our words of prayers, encouragement and support from The Daily Lily bring much success to you and your family as you continue to share with us and we with you.

PS, Grace, tell Toto we miss her, love her in Jesus and look forward to all her words as well.

  7. I want to thank you all. I enjoy hearing what you guys have to say. It is wonderful to be on the daily lily.
    Grace

  8. Grace, this is an awesome poem. Some people spend their entire lives searching for their DESTINY and never figure it out. It’s simple. Trust in God! He’ll open up the door to your DESTINY. Grace, this poem says it all. God’s in control of our Destinies. He already knows. It’s up to us to reach out to our Lord and receive the map to take us to our Destiny. Grace, thank you for sharing this awesome poem with us.
