We have something to BE HAPPY ABOUT!

We have a KING to PRAISE!

I Chronicles 16: 23-34 ” Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the
nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of
other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling. O nations of the
world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into
his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. Let the
heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Tell all the nations, ‘The Lord reigns!’ Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields
and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest rustle with praise, for the Lord is coming to judge the earth.”

I’d like to add the footnotes for verses 25 and 29. ” Genuine praise results when we declare
God’s character and attributes in the presence of others.
When we recognize and affirm his goodness, we are holding up his perfect moral nature for all
to see. Praise benefits us because it takes our mind off our problems and needs and focuses on God’s power, mercy, majesty, and love. Genuine praise
also involves ascribing glory to God. This means that we give credit where credit is due. Remember this is in your worship and give God all the glory.”

WOW! When we praise the Lord, we are HAPPY! I am thankful that I can praise the Lord and put His Words on this website, for the WHOLE world to see! We
praise you today, LORD!

  1. Yes, God is mighty and worthy of our praise. As I look around my new home and see that everything that I have ever bought or painted goes perfectly, I know I owe it all to God. Thank you God you are worthy of our praise. As I peer out each window, I’m awe struck at the beauty that He has surrounded me by. What a mighty God who cares about the smallest detail of our lives. Mighty and Loving is He. How could any of us live without such a God. I know I couldn’t. As I see and hear stories about how God has touched others in love and faithfulness, I am thankful I came to know Him, and I am learning more and more about Him each day. As He wraps His arms around us in our daily walk and as we minister to others each day, we see His hand move from us to them. Tears mount to the surface in our very being as we are touched by the things that our God is doing in the lives of His people. Once a lady told me, if you raise your arms in praise, God will give you a hug. So we lift up the name of our God this day, “What a mighty God we serve, What a Mighty God we serve. Heaven and earth adore Him. What a mighty God we serve.! Amen!

  2. Needles, this blog helped me focus and think about the priviledge and magnitude of praising God. It involves our whole being and has many aspects. Our mouths and vocal chords can sing and speak of His praises. Through our minds and hands we can ‘publish His glorious deeds’. With our pocketbooks we can bring Him our offerings. Our hearts can fear Him. Our bodies can tremble and bow before Him. Our farming efforts can produce fields of crops that ‘burst with joy’. Our communication and interaction with others can be used to tell of His marvelous deeds. And then we can say with the Psamlist in 103:1… “And all that is within me bless His Holy Name.!”
“Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!” (Ps 144:15). We do have much to be happy about.

  3. Psalm 149 “Praise the Lord! Heb. Hallelujah!

Sing to the Lord a new song. And His praise in the assembly of saints.” and Psalm 150, Praise Him in the sanctuary and also tells us to praise Him with every instrument you can find and know of, just praise Him. Trumpet, lute, harp, timbrel, dance, stringed instrument, flutes, loud cymbals, clashing cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord, Praise the Lord! Hallelujah.

Just imagine sanctuary’s that believe we should not praise God with instruments that make a loud noise. Why not, I wonder?

Also, praise should be continuous (Ps 34:1)
All nature praises God (Debi said this) Ps. 148:7-10)
The angels praise Him (Ps. 148:2)
Praise Him in public (Ps. 22:25)

Also, remember that on occasions God uses even the wrath of men to praise Him. (Ps. 76:10) One example would be the selling of Joseph by his brother into slavery. And, later we read Joseph would remind his brothers: “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” (Gen. 50:20)

Needles, you are right, one gets happy when we praise the One that deserves our praise. For it is His holiness, grace and mercy that merits praise from all men. And, to think that we have a public forum such as The Daily Lily to daily praise Him is really beyond my greatest thoughts and imagination. But it sure does make me happy as we said before. Be good, do good and be happy! That’s it, Praise The Lord!

Just a little thought when we don’t feel like it. Ecc 11:4-6, “Be diligent in spite of obstacles.”

  4. ….Psalm 22:3 But thou art holy, O thou who inhabitest the praises of Israel….(God inhabits the praises of His people..)….and being His children how much more so we should praise him that deliverance should follow, healing should follow,..salvation should follow…for where there is praise God is in the midst….. Sara:) He only doeth wonderous things, He only doeth wonderous things and blessed be His glorious name forever!,,,,,,,( song from e.t.h. GwenShaw) dj

  5. Psalm 118:19 “Open to me the gates of righteousness; and I will go through them, And I will praise the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord,, through which the righteous shall enter. I will praise You for You have answered me and have become my salvation.”

I am so thankful and want to praise God tonight because He has become my salvation. Psalm 134 tells us to Praise the Lord in the Evening, lift up our hands and bless the Lord. Yes, The Lord who made heaven and earth.

Thank you Needles again for the encouragement to praise Him in the morning, praise Him in the noon time and praise Him at evening time. God is the Lord and greatly to be praised.

Let us use our whole being to Praise Him daily.

  6. Thank you Needles Yes we Have a King to Praise….a King…The King….and Thank you too Sara…for reminding us to do it..in the morning(on bended knee)…in the noontime(with our voices sharing His many benefits and telling of His wonderous works…and in the evening(with hands up raised)praising Him with music and with song….and yes I agree with you Needles..what a praise to the Lord the Daily Lily is and what a praise the” Needle Lily “is to the Lord……such a rare breed of Lily….:)dj

  7. Oh, I love reading all this praise to the Lord. In Luke chapter 19: 36 -40 “And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and PRAISE God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out”. I am so thankful that the “Lilies” will not let the “stones” do what God wants US to do… (praise Him),as Dorothy quoted above
“God inhabits the praises of His people”! We praise Your name today, Lord!

  8. We do have something to be happy about. God is in control. He will take care of us, feed us, cloth us, protect us and love us. He’ll give us eternity. There is no reason not to be happy and overflowing with joy. He’s always been there for us. Genesis 1:1 “When God began creating the heavens and the earth, 2 the earth was a shapeless, chaotic mass, with the Spirit of God brooding over the dark vapors. 3 Then God said ,”LET THERE BE LIGHT.” And light appeared.” He will always be there for us. Rev. 11:15 “For the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting down from heaven, ” The Kingdom of this world now belongs to our Lord, and to his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.”” He will help us through our tough times. 1 Sam.2:1 “This was Hannah’s prayer: “How I rejoice in the Lord! How he has blessed me! Now I have an answer for my enemies, For the Lord has solved my problem. How I rejoice!” He will protect us from our enemies. 2 Sam. 22:4 “I will call upon the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised; He will save me from all my enemies.” He loves us so much that he gave us his precious Son. Eph.1:6 “Now all praise to God for his wonderful kindness to us and his favor that he has poured out upon us because we belong to his dearly loved Son.” His work is so perfect and wonderful that even the angels shout for joy. Job 38:6,7 ” WHAT SUPPORTS ITS FOUNDATIONS, AND WHO LAID ITS CORNERSTONE AS THE MORNING STARS SANG TOGETHER AND THE ANGELS SHOUTED FOR JOY?” How can we not be happy and rejoice and praise his glorious name. He is our ALL AND ALL. Praise you Lord!!
