  1. “Expect your every need to be met, expect the answer to every problem, expect abundance on every level, expect to grow spiritually” Caddy, Eileen

    One day, I went into a room what one calls a sanctuary, to pray in silence. I was right in the middle of my serious monologue when suddenly, I clearly heard a voice speak to me and to say: ” Be still and know that I’m God “.

    Thus starts Eileen Caddy’s unique experience of meditation.

    I believe when we meditate on God our cup will be filled.

  2. Fill My Cup, Lord, words and music by Richard Blanshard, please click and sing and be filled today with God’s blessings:

    “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;
    but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14

    Sing with me and many that have and are singing this song today:

    Like the woman at the well I was seeking
    For things that could not satisfy:
    And then I heard my Savior speaking:
    “Draw from my well that never shall run dry”.
    Fill my cup Lord,
    I lift it up, Lord!
    Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
    Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
    Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
    There are millions in this world who are craving
    The pleasures earthly things afford;
    But none can match the wondrous treasure
    That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.

    Fill my cup Lord,
    I lift it up, Lord!
    Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
    Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more
    Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!

  3. As E. has stated above, it is GOD Who fills our cup when we wait on Him. When we seek Him. Some of us try to fill our cup with pretty clothes, cars, gourmet delights, electronic equipment, movies and TV, but all those are draining. They drain our finances. They drain our souls and they drain our Spiritual lives by taking precedence over us.
    Jesus said, “BLessed are you who hunger and seek with eager desire the Kingdom for you shall be completely filled and satisfied.” Luke 6:22

  4. Last week I had a correction from my husband and pastor. Also from my two sons. I had great concern and anxiety about a situation. He said that I needed to seek God and have a desire that God would meet with me. To pray and let God know that I wanted to meet Him and have Him meet me. The Word of God says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

    I took his good counsel and have diligently worked on this in the week with prayer and meditation on an appointed time and place. I realized how right he was. Many times a day I pray on the run. My mind filled with others and things not giving Him much room to squeeze in. I must say my cup has been filled this week and not drained. I thank God for those that love me enough to give me light with correction. I bless all my mentors, counsellors, family and friends that bless me with truth. Fill their cup O Lord, I pray.

  5. This verse in the song above “But none can match the wondrous treasure
    That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.”…the author’s cup was filled with Jesus. It costs to fill a cup with something valuable. I like the parable in Matt 13:43 about the merchant who wanted his cup filled with the ‘Pearl’ of great price. He didn’t just wish it, he worked it. He went and sold all that he had and then he bought it. I think that is what Sara is saying. It costs time and effort and prioritizing in order for our cup to be filled with Life Himself.

  6. Yes we must drink from Him who is the Everflowing River of Life….that we may never run dry,…for it is from us that the waters must flow out to the peoples……..dj

  7. The above comments make me think of Ezekiel 37:1-14. With out water we would die and become those dry bones mentioned in Ezekiel. Without the living water provided by the word of God we would become like those dry bones too. We would have no ability to do anything for the Lord in thought, word, or deed. Our physical bodies can be living but are we a heap of bones in our spiritual lives? Lord is that what you see when you look down from above? Tents with dry bones in them. Lord fill our cup so that bone can come together with bone and that our spiritual side will be set in order so that we may show others our true character in Jesus Christ – life with a purpose. A life serving Jesus – a Pearl serving his/her King.

  8. I have thought of many ways to fill my cup. Among a few, love, giving, forgiving, helping, being virtuous in my daily living as well as prayer and meditation.

  9. Yes all of what you say Sara fills your cup. Also working in the talents God has given you fills the cup. Some how you can be dead tired and when you work in your giftings you are energized. No dry bones I hope in these tents.

  10. Yes Rena I agree about being energized when you work in your giftings. The prayer in the above song ‘Fill My Cup’ which says …fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole….a wholeness of mind, body and spirit does come when we are content and view our giftings work as just that…a gift. When we employ these for others we get our cup filled.

  11. Sara I wanted to share this Hymn with all as it goes with this quote and I thought of this after reading your comment from June 17 on this quote….(what you wrote is to me Beulah land)…and thats where we need to stay .
    ” Dwelling in Beulah Land” Words and Music by C. Austin Miles
    Far away the noise of strife upon my ear is falling,
    Then I know the sins of earth bveset on every hand.
    Doubt and fear and thngs of earth in vain to me are
    None of these shll move me from Beulah land.
    I’m living on the mountain, underneath a cloudless sky. (Praise God!)
    I”m drinking at the fountain that never shalll run dry.
    O yes! I’m feasting on the manna from a bountiful
    For I am dwelling in Beulah Land.
    Far below the storm of doubt upon the world is beating,
    Sons of men in balltle long the enemy withstand.
    Safe am I within the castle of God’s Word retreating,.
    Noth8ng then can reach me,’tis Beulah Land.
    I’m living on the mountain, underneath a cloudless
    sky. (Praise God!)
    I’m drinking at the fountain that never shall run dry.
    O yes! I’m feasting on the manna from a bountiful
    For I am dwelling in Beulah Land.
    Let the stormy breezes blow, their cry cannot alarm me;
    I am safely sheltered here protected by God’s hand.
    Here the sun is always shining, here there’s naught can
    harm me,
    I am safe forever in Beulah Land.
    Viewing here the works of God, I sink in contemplantion.
    Hearing now His blessed voice, I see the way He planned
    Dwellin in the Spirit here I learn of fulll salvations.
    Gladly I will taryy in Beulah Land
    Refrain………….. dj

  12. Thanks for sharing this song DJ…I looked up the meaning of Beulah and in Hebrew it means ‘bride’. What a beautiful picture of the bride of Christ this song describes for all of us to aspire to.

  13. “Life is a cup to be filled not drained”……. boy, the cup can sure get drained, with the cares of this life?!?! Maybe we should take the advice Jesus gave the apostles in Mark 6:31. “Then Jesus said, ‘Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.’ He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.”

  14. Life is a cup to be filled not drained. What an awesome statement. I think we all have felt drained mentally and physically, sometime in our lives. This is not a good feeling. We go to be at night feeling tired and we wake up, feeling just as tired as if we never slept. We feel we can’t continue to go…..we are drained. Our strength is weakened and we have to push ourselves out the door to start our day. Our cup is empty. How does this happen to us? We allow our trails of life, to come in and empty our cup. We loose our push, our drive. Why do we let life beat us down from time to time? If we allowed blood to drain from our body without getting the help we need, we will surely die. Our body cannot live without blood. Our spirit cannot live without the Holy Spirit, who is always there ready to fill our cups. Whenever, we are going through a hard time in our life, we can just call on God to help us. He is there with a huge pitcher, ready to pour his Holy Spirit into our cup to give us strength and life.
    Romans 5:3-6 “3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5And this hope will not lead to dissappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to FILL our hearts with his love. 6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.”
    According to Romans, we should never feel drained. We should rejoice because God is there to help us because he love us. Staying focused on our Lord and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, will keep our cup of life full.
