Happy Fourth

Happy Fourth of July!

Independence Day is often celebrated by patriotic songs such as the national anthem “The Star-Spangled Banner”, “God Bless America”, “America the Beautiful”, “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee”, “This Land Is Your Land”, “Stars and Stripes Forever”, and others.

Let us celebrate our freedom! And, embrace freedom for all.

  1. I thank God for the many freedoms that this nation enjoys and for those in our military that continue to lay down their lives and personal comforts and welfares to serve our nation and protect these freedoms. We are so blessed.
And thanks be to God who secured the Way through Jesus Christ to make us free from the penalty of eternal damnation to be set free from our sins and to experience the glorious freedom that is in Christ. Help us Lord to daily walk in such a way that we please you and live in this freedom.
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. ” Galations 5:1

  2. Fireworks in our town were great to celebrate the 4th. We are thankful with the state of the economy in our Nation to still have a display of beautiful fireworks.

Of course cookouts and fellowship with Christian friends really make the fireworks worth their value.

  3. Yes Sara …I will amen to that. We have much to be thankful for and many blessings to count tonight.

  4. This day’s celebration was peaceful and pleasant as we shared and fellowshipped with our friends. We saw a glorious display of fireworks, creative and stunning in light and image. It made me think about the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to receive us in the heavenlies with bursts of brilliance and color and breathtaking grandeur. I know that this display was a meager symbol of the glorious and dazzling return of the Son of God but I could meditate on that as I watched with close Christian friends and neighbors.
The Scripture that came to mind is…”Blessed is the nation whose GOD is THE LORD!.”
    God bless America
    Land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with a light from above
From the mountains to the prairies to the oceans, white with foam
God bless America my home, sweet home
God bless America my home, sweet home

  5. Thanks to the brave men and women throughout our history who have fought bravely for our freedoms and liberty; many of them lost li
mbs and eyes and hearing and even more lost their lives. What heroes! Thanks, also, to the families who sacrificed their loved ones for this nation to remain “one nation under GOD indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”

  6. Yes we are so grateful for the men and women who protect this nation with their lives. Not many would stand in the gap and lay down their lives for another but these men and women have done it and do it daily. We thank you for keeping our nation free so that we may live in this beautiful nation. We also thank the men and women of integrity who are leaders who concern themselves daily with keeping us free. We thank God for this beautiful nation. Due to your persistence, steadfastness to protect we can sing and pray the following:

    America the Beautiful

    (lyrics by Katherine Lee Bates)
    O beautiful for spacious skies,
    For amber waves of grain,
    For purple mountain majesties
    Above the fruited plain!

    America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea!
    O beautiful for pilgrim feet
    Whose stern impassion’d stress
    A thoroughfare for freedom beat
    Across the wilderness.

    America! America!
    God mend thine ev’ry flaw,
    Confirm thy soul in self-control,
    Thy liberty in law.

    O beautiful for heroes prov’d
    In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
    And mercy more than life.

    America! America!
    May God thy gold refine
    Till all success be nobleness,
    And ev’ry gain divine.

    O beautiful for patriot dream
    That sees beyond the years
    Thine alabaster cities gleam
    Undimmed by human tears.

    America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
    From sea to shining sea.
