SHE’S THE FAIREST OF THE ROSES;
THE GOLD AT RAINBOWS END;
THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN YOUR SKY;
FOREVER, SHES YOUR FRIEND;
SHE WATCHED YOU LEARN TO WALK;
SHE LISTENED TO YOU SPEAK;
MOMMY, DADDY, I WUV YOU;
SHE SOFTLY KISSED YOUR CHEEKS;
SHE HELD YOU CLOSE WHEN YOU WERE ILL;
SANG LULLABYS TO YOU;
SHE TAUGHT YOU HOW TO SAY YOUR PRAYERS;
LIKE JESUS WANTS YOU TO;
AS YOU TRAVEL THROUGH THIS LIFE;
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER;
THAT WILL MEAN AS MUCH TO YOU;
AS YOUR OWN DEAREST MOTHER.

My Dear Beloved Dot, with your warm wisdom words you awaken the joy and the pain that resides in one when they think on their Mother here but yet not here.
Thank God for you and your very special gift. That is my Mother in my eyes and I will visit this poem often to reflect on My Mother. It has the heart of being able to place flowers @my Mother’s gravesite in Pea Ridge, NC, Piney Grove Church.
Again, thank you, Dot, and Happy Mother’s Day to you.
kEVIN GAVE ME THIS AMETHIST. WHEN THE BLOOMS DIED, JEFF MOVED IT TO A FLOWERBED OUTSIDE. ON MOTHERS DAY MORNING THE YEAR AFTER HE PASSED, IT BLOOMED EXACTLY ON MOTHERS DAY MORNING.
Dot, never so true were your words in my life’s experience. I had (have) a wonderful mother. Her Name is ANNA. The Lord told me after she passed at almost 100 years old as I was calling out her name, still in sorrow…”Sister Grandma”! He spoke to my heart and said sweetly and gently. ‘Her name is ANNA.’ Many on this blog are familiar with the sassy picture of Sister Grandma (ANNA) at a great old age, the family dowager. She had the courage to leave a denominational church and to be ‘born again’ at age 78, giving her life and service to the Lord Jesus Christ and she loved the Lord in great gratitude for HIS salvation. She prayed and witnessed to me until I was brought to a glorious salvation, drawn by the HOLY SPIRIT. She was my friend and confidante. I salute all the MOTHERS of wisdom, courage, strength and integrity that serve their families and communities selflessly. GOD bless our MOTHERS.
You are very special people. Happy Mothers day to you~“**********
Thanks for the cyber-hugs-n-kisses, Dot. Same to you!
Thank you Dot for writing this beautiful poem which strikes a chord in my heart as I’m sure it will in those who read it. And thank you for sharing the story of and the beautiful picture of your flower. It’s vibrant ‘star’ bloom well illustrates your verse, ‘THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN YOUR SKY;’
God bless you and Happy Mother’s Day to you.
As I have stated before my mother was a shining jewel in my life. And there is another Mother that I wish to praise and give tribute to. This “mother” is my spiritual mother. Jesus said that no greater love has anyone that she give up her life for a friend. This “spiritual mother” has given up much for me, her spiritual child. She left her home for many weeks and drove many miles at night to rescue me from a terrible deception (in the church), to disciple me, to admonish, counsel and pray for me. She never let me go. She included me among her cherished FRIENDS and family of the Body of Christ. She laughs with me and cries with me and watches over me like a guardian angel, which she might truly be, in the physical flesh. She is a true mother of the CHURCH and anointed shepherdess of cherished sheep. She is my spiritual mother and I love her in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her name is SARA!
Thank you, MG! And, thank you for being a mother to so many precious children each and every day as you enter your classroom. You have a calling and you are walking in it. A good show it is!
I have had the unique opportunity of meeting some of your students that have enter life’s career and watched their faces as they give praise to you for their accomplishments. Can’t get any better. Blessings upon blessings as you continue to touch the lives of these little jewels.
And, I pause to remember your mother, Sis G and give honor to her for teaching you right from wrong. 🙂 And, watching her for many years being stable in her life and steering you to be steady and stable.
Happy Mother’s Day to you.
MG, one of the very fondest and encouraging moments I remember from your Mother, about 90 years old and her one and only daughter wants to retire and help her. And, she says, “Oh, no, keep working, we need the money!” She loved going out to dinner, dressing like a queen and getting what she wanted. She sure gave you good sound advice. Don’t quit when the going gets rough and the roads seem all uphill.
As Dot’s poem says, there is gold at the end of your rainbow and a bright star in your sky. I see that as wisdom, advise, and correction from a Godly Mother. And, the ones of us that are so fortunate to have had Godly Mother’s still have them regardless of where they reside now. Wisdom is forever!
I know this is a hard Mother’s Day for you as you have just closed out her home and distributed her furnishings. But, let’s think about the beauty that surrounds her now and hopefully no dust and pollen. Rejoice for she is with her King!
Needles, I would like to say, “Happy Mother’s Day, to your Mother, and my childhood friend from Plymouth, NC. Mrs. Barbara Nobles! May she be blessed!
And, Happy Mother’s Day to you, her daughter, a mother, as well. I know that you are working on Mother’s Day and giving of yourself that others may be comforted and cared for through sickness. O, how could God choose anyone more giving and caring than you to give to Mothers and families that await the health of their loved ones. May you bless them on Mother’s day as we all bless you.
You are a knock out rose!!!!!
Thank you for those encouraging and hope-filled words, Sara.
We have such lovely mothers in our congregation. God-loving, God-fearing, God-knowing mothers of boys (now young men) and girls, (now young women) with daughters-in-law and sons-in-law to be role models for and to be a testimony for the Lord.
May Jesus Christ be made unto you, personally, Wisdom as the Scriptures promise. May your sons and your daughters and their children know the Lord and serve HIM all the days of their lives. May the circle be unbroken as the family of GOD is translated from this plane into the eternal one…taken together, meeting at the Gates of Pearl, bowing first to our gracious Lord and Savior Who made all this possible and then the embrace of loved ones…. and so shall we ever be with the LORD! AMEN!
Happy Mothers’ Day to all our congregation here in Virgina and in NC and all over the globe.
Amen MG, Amen
Thank you Dot for your beautiful poem that touches the heart.
Happy Mother’s Day to all.
Thinking on Mother’s Day of a special mother, Mary, the mother chosen by God to birth Jesus Christ into this planet. The scriptures tell us why she was so special and what was her demeanor as a young teen age girl.
This is key to her character: “Be it done unto me according to THY Word.” What a role model for all of us women, mothers and all alike!
Speaking of “Let it me unto me according to THY Word.” I would like to thank Sara as a spiritual Mother of her congregation and thedailylilies. She too has said the words Mary said in her heart. She too with so much business experience and abilities laid it all down at the Savior’s Feet and arose with all her God given abilities to serve God the most high and the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. She has sat before the Lord and received and written beautiful studies to share with the world. She has given up wealth and fame as the world knows it to serve her Master, Savior, Jesus Christ. She dances down God’s highway writing from the pen of God studies to grow up the saints. With many women/men has she shared her Godly wisdom. We give thanks to Sara today for all she has given up to serve the Lord. She does it with a humble, grateful heart and JOY as she walks God’s Highway trusting/knowing He will take care of every need. May many sit at the table the Lord has already prepared to hear the Words that God has spoken through her.
Amen, Rena. This is all to the glory, honor and praise of God, Whom she serves and for that purpose. To glorify His Name.
From a grateful heart, I say, thank you!
Sara,
I’m a few days later reading the above blog and comments. I am in agreement with you, in blessing my mother. She always cared for me, cooked for me, made sure I had just the right clothes, for appropriate occasions, and I could go on. But the most important thing she did for me, was taking me to church and instilling the importance of knowing and putting Jesus Christ, first. I pause and thank my mother, for teaching me about Jesus. I can also say, that I would not know or have you, Sara, for a friend, if my mother had not introduced you to me. You have been and are a great mentor, friend, and spiritual leader. I thank God for you and what you stand for. May you, also, be blessed this Mother’s Day season.
You are a big red rose, right in the center of the garden!
