  1. Look! A way of keeping the light on in 2015 that will not increase our utility bills!
Jesus said that the people living in darkness have seen a great LIGHT and for those who are living in the shadow of death, a great LIGHT has dawned upon them.’’
Who are those who live in the shadow of death, who dwell in darkness and are in great need of light to be shed into their lives? They are the poverty stricken , the physically and mentally ill , the disenfranchised, the rejected, the despondent, depressed and the lost…. those who do not know the magnificent love of Jesus Christ and what He has done for them to bring them into the Kingdom of Heaven and deliver them from the kingdom of hell.
Paul tells us in Romans to cast off the works of darkness and put on the shining armor of light, and Isaiah says to arise, shine for our light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon us. So don’t hide your light under a bushel but put it up on a lamp-stand where the light can be thrown forward to illuminate the areas all around us for all to see so that those who have rebelled against the light and have wandered off the path will find their way back to the SOURCE!
Does this sound like a pretty tall order? Let us work while there is still light and while we have the day to work in for the night will be coming too quickly and is almost here when no one will be able to work.

    Matt. 4:16
    Rom. 13:12
    is. 60:1
    Luke 11:33
    Job 24: 13

  2. My thoughts for resolutions 2015 is how I can stay aglow with the spirit? ‘Word Watching’ in voice and pen are the utmost items on my list. Enlarge my living circle to include prayers, praisers and poets. Understand through study and action peacemaking to be called a son of God and activities of angels so messengers are comfortable in my mist. I find I have many spiritual deficits that need redefining for enlightenment into my reaching beyond imagination into spiritualization.

These are big goals for me but needful to keep the light bright in 2015 on my part!

    1. Sara, your writings are tough, tender, timely and terrific. But your ”doing” is even greater. When you do the deeds of the Father, which He has prepared in advance for you to do, you are a shining star and a bright light and Father’s delight….not to mention warming the hearts of those to whom you minister.

    2. In my first day of goal revealing I received a hand written card from a lady that wrote to say goodbye to me as she had heard from the medical that her earth journey may be very short without a miracle of healing from God. I was a little surprised as I had heard a month or so ago she was doing well with her treatment. She went on to say nice things to me and thanked me for being her friend! Truly, that was a mirror reflection that frozen me for a moment.

Then, my 2015 goal was quoted from deep within; “Understand through study and action peacemaking to be called a son of God and activities of angels so messengers are comfortable in my mist. I find I have many spiritual deficits that need redefining for enlightenment into my reaching beyond imagination into spiritualization.” Here I need to understand spirit. I called and was pleasantly surprised with great comfort and given a chore to do. And, ask spiritual friends to become involved with. Be a part of the circle of light where angels carry the light! And, in sharing story with my friends they went to work to carry out this chore.

I knew then and feel even more strongly retiring is a funny word really. Leaving a place to be promoted to another is a spiritual growth promotion. From glory to glory!

      1. This comment of Sara’s, “Truly, that was a mirror reflection that frozen me for a moment.” made me think more on the scripture she quoted in subsequent comment “And we all, with unveiled face, 🎆 beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18″.
As I read this verse and then read it in my bible version I saw that it spoke of a mirror connected to this transformation…..” beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord”. Also thinking that a mirror can’t reflect anything unless there is light.

  3. My devotion on reflection this morn from “Meeting the Messiah”.. gave me good starters for my goals.
“THE GOOD NEWS of Jesus’ birth comes first to the shepherds, humble and hardworking people, tending to their flock by night. God knew these men could not bring gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, as the wise men who would arrive later. Immanuel, “God with us,” came among us in a manger where all could come and kneel to worship him. There were no barriers of dress code, entrance fees, or guards at the door. From his first breath, God was available to all.”

As I reflect on these words I am reminded how I feel to enlarge my living circle in 2015. I even had a vision dream last night given by the Holy Spirit and assisted by angels to show me in picture form how God would welcome His precious children in circle for the purpose of Worshipping the Messiah. What a wonderful year to be in the circle of meeting, greeting and worshipping! I am reminded there is no question or debate on whom will come to worship. It is recorded in John 4:24 “KJV
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Oh, what a glorious year 2015 is going to be for those that know spirit and truth!

  4. One way that I would like to help keep the Light bright in 2015 is by staying steady in prayer with my guitar. Sara, you wrote about being a ‘singing light’ in your book, Designs of One’s Heart. That is one kind of light I would like to be.

    1. Debi, I remember a song that you wrote a few years back about Jesus on the Cross and how He saw each of us from the cross and we were in His eyes.
I love that song. Keep on keeping on.

  5. I think that if I were to give 2015 a name [as I heard one broadcaster suggest] & how to keep my light shining brightly…I would continue writing praise and worship songs and singing them to the Lord on my piano. I believe they would delight the heart of my Father and Jesus as they are all about Him.
So what would I name my year? ”Radiate”…that sounds exciting.

A while back I wrote these lyrics to a song I believe the Lord gave me about light..

“Oh Holy Spirit, Spirit of might
He drives out corruption with His light……”

Paul says if you are called to preach, preach; called to teach, teach; called to prophesy, prophesy with at pure heart.” All these are shining examples of ways to light up the world.
If I am called to music, then I will make music to Him in my heart and on the piano and hope that my light will become more than a dim flicker in a dark place.
    May I reflect His light!!!

    1. Just to pause and think how He drives out corruption with His Light is breathtaking. So, MG, I will remind you often as you radiate light through your music corruption has to make an exit and virtue an entrance. Happy 2015 as you radiate!

  6. I have thought and thought about the Light of 2015 and how God would exhibit that light to others through me. I believe if I stay steadfast in the WORD feeding the soul and walking out what I learn that the light will burn brighter and brighter. I hope prayers will abound and the Lord God will answer the needs of many. I pray that creativity of teaching the WORD to children about Him will abound. I pray that creativity in sewing and painting will bless others and cause them not to look at me but to look at the creator God who gives so generously and who directs me in the midnight hour on projects for His children. Often He directs me in the midst of doing the projects. What a wonderful God. May my hands and prayers for others serve Him and the testimony from others by them and me radiate the glory of God.

    1. Hey Rena, I remember that great light with which you shine….most brilliantly…and that is the SHINING SWORD of INTERCESSION of the Spirit that you wield so skillfully….even as you wield the sewing needle so you wield the Sword of Intercession against the enemy.
I remember a prophet of God declaring that your intercessory Sword was one of greater proportion than that person had ever seen in the Spirit. Onward, soldier of the Light!!

  7. Happy & Blessed New Year to all the Lilies and to those who walk among the LILIES!
I felt a sense to share this part of a devotional for a New Year….2015
” I Stand between the years. The LIGHT of My Presence is flung across the year to come…the RADIANCE [my goal for 2015, btw] of the Son of Righteousness.
Backward over the past year is My Shadow thrown, ‘covering’ trouble and sorrow and disappointment.

”Don’t dwell on the past, only on the present. Only use the past as the trees use My Sunlight to absorb it….to make from it ‘nutrients’ in the after-days, the warming fire-rays.
So store only the blessings from Me….The Light of the world. Encourage yourself in thoughts like these!”___God Calling
How encouraging is that! Oh, how I want the excellence of God’s Word to change my “inside Self” so that that Radiance of God I so much desire will RADIATE on my ”outside Self”.

  8. “And we all, with unveiled face, 🎆 beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

I am seeing this verse as ‘the anthesis,🌺 of my vision for believers in 2015….”Let’s keep the Light Bright in 2015″.

I am so glad that the Spirit of God has chosen so often to teach me by story. I read about Moses and his good-bad….prophets with flaws…apostles strange characters…yet most, if not all, seem to have grown in glory. I hear stories of today and see the negative-positive results that aligns itself with the directives of the teachings of Jesus which is the unveiled face as spoken of in this scripture. I tell stories about others and myself to verify the degree of glory and how to get to the next level of glory which is enlightenment-light -truth or right way and may show wrong way. Results will pursue and ensue.

Yesterday, New Years Day, my sister, brother and niece gathered to share for the day and tried to tell stories to niece and one another…they would contact me every few minutes to get their stories straight. Finally, they said we so wish you were hear because you are the one that tells stories that we all love to hear. I laughed with joy for I knew then they had come to a new place of enlightement and, hopefully, I had also. So often we don’t understand then and maybe for years but if we search for the truth in story it will be revealed. Yay! I love the bright lights! Don’t you?

  9. Sara, the story lover… Anne Graham Lotz told a story about Robert Louis Stevenson’s remark as a little boy….as he watched the lamplighter of those days lighting the street lamps. “Look!” he said of the lamplighter. ”He punching holes in the darkness!”
What a Light bringing goal. To punch holes, one by one, in the darkness.

  10. When I asked my husband, Gary, about his goal, word, thoughts for 2015, he replied Glory! Now, how’s that for spiritual synchronicity? Let my Light burn brighter in 2015….let my glory shine…

I like the thoughts punch holes in darkness from MG’s quote above.

    1. I find it not too surprising that Jeepgary got “GLORY” for his word for the year. My readings, this a.m. took me to 1Pet. 5:4 which reads, “And when the chief Shepherd shall appear you shall receive a CROWN OF GLORY that never fades away.” The note with that Scripture renders it to address the ”men who rule the Church” and is promised to Faithful Pastors! GLORY!!!

  11. “Let’s keep THE LIGHT bright in 2015!”

I took a few notes, from Wednesday night service at church. If I implement the “ups” in my life, maybe I will help “keep the light bright in 2015.” What do you think?

“7- ups for the new year”

    1) wake up – the church needs to wake up
    2) dress up – put a smile on your face
    3) shut up – watch your tongue
    4) stand up – take a stand on what you believe
    5) look up – look to God
    6) reach up – make sure your prayers give thanksgiving
    7) lift up – be available to serve

  12. Interesting….one of the scriptures our preacher used Wednesday night was: Isaiah 60: 1… “Isaiah 60:1 New International Version (NIV)

    The Glory of Zion
60 “Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

    1. I love this scripture! Interesting, we discussed this scripture over lunch on Saturday before Tammy posted @night from her Pastor’s sermon notes.

Also, an interesting spiritual note here we also discussed Tammy and missing her post over the holidays. We talked of her sharing, her faithfulness, love and notes that keep us on our toes. Prayers whispered for her! And, it’s not magical really it’s mysterious! Just the way The Holy Spirit goes about His day as we partner with Him.

Let’s grab and share a glass of 7-up!

    2. TH, If we all diligently implement the 7-UPS in our Christian walk and works, Jesus tells us in Matthew 13: 43 that after the reward of the wicked those who are “righteous in God’s sight shall SHINE forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father”!! Then Jesus adds a caveat….that we’ve heard, often…”who has ears to hear, let him/her hear.”

  13. Sara & Tammy, it shows the connection in the Spirit among the saints in the Body of Christ….Mysterious? ,yes! Supernatural? Amen!

  14. “Let’s grab and share a glass of 7-up” …I agree!
I noticed how on the bottom of this Daily Lily page that even the artwork connects to what is being said. The sun is arising and coming up over those lily pads.

  15. One way to punch holes in darkness, awaken as a church and grab the 7-up is to spread by request prayer needs of the body of Christ. Imagine sitting on your hands when you could use them to get names and needs out in the body so healings, jobs, financial needs, safety, wisdom, etc. etc.

Find ways to connect friends, churches, families to others that you are in relationship with. Stop division…confront….bring truth which turns the light up on bright.
