“Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light 🌠 is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness 🌑overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” John 12:35-36
“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,🌏 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” Titus 2:11-14
Precious Jesus sweep over souls throughout the world and give them light in their darkness to know You, serve you and love You…Come quickly Lord Jesus. It seems the earth groans for Your return!
I love, love, love this scripture! It leaks with love and hope. “And now the prize awaits me–the crown👑 of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:8 NLT
Have you ever just sit 🙇and pondered what the crown 👑 of righteousness may look, feel, smell like! Wonder if it will be given just before the bride is presented to The King? It is for those that eagerly want to see Him! Oh, what a day!
“Have you ever just sit 🙇and pondered what the crown 👑 of righteousness may look, feel, smell like!”.
No, not feel and smell until you just suggested it.
Maybe it will smell like the deeps woods, woven from deer antlers, with some tips broken, edges rubbed smooth from years of struggles, searching, battles. And mosses, briers, pieces of twig and berries dangling from it.
“As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?” Psalm 42: 1,2
Debi, that is a real cool head gear you just made. Gary and I just gave a table arrangement (you made for us) to a co-worker that we are hoping will see Jesus in the deer in the beauty of nature as they are deer hunters.
Gary and I have talked often recently how if one misses heaven and hunting deer is their passion on earth they may never have that opportunity again. Maybe, we can tell them about this hunting hat!
In reviewing Debi’s woven crown of righteousness I realize when one receives this crown at the judgement seat of Christ it might not shine with the jewels and glitz we see in movies! So, how must we get the shine? Crown the crown with a few other crowns:
Incorruptible crown
Crown of life
Crown of glory
Crown of rejoicing
These will determine your light and shine.
“While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” John 12:35-36″.
I recall reading in your book, Dance of Healing”, Sara, that you stated the above verse this way, “believe in the Light and you will become the Light”. This seems to connect back to your prior blog.’Rhythms of Grace’ where you stated, “I hope that some will join me in the dance of healing as our beauty adorns the King.”
Dancing, lights, healing, rhythm, grace look interconnected across the night sky to say, Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven…”
Thanks for the instruction on how to get shine on the crown. That’s important to know as I thought the crowns were each independent and now see they are really intertwined and interdependent.
It looks to me like getting an incorruptible crown might be like winning the Kentucky Derby Crown. You discipline the horse and train hard, then make every stride in the race purposeful with the goal to win it. Once you win that Crown, you’ve got the ‘first jewel in the crown’ it is said. Then on to the Preakness and finally the Belmont. But unless the horse wins all three of those crowns he will never win the Triple Crown. The Triple Crown win makes the Derby, Preakness and Belmont crowns really shine much brighter collectively as an outstanding accomplishment.
“While you have the light believe in the light.” Thinking upon this I think of many people who have walked a long time with the Lord. They are humble pointing the way to the light for others. NO pride here – open, honest! They are so in love with the Lord that they seem to have an inner light that beams wherever you see them. They are not the people of darkness who have no light. Haven’t you seen them walking down a church aisle or in your workplace wherever that might me. These people you would like to engage a conversation with as you know it will be filled with life experiences which God worked in them to produce His character and the word of God which produces the confidence you see in them. (This insight came from BBN Bible Institute – 2 Peter by Howard Hendricks). Their thinking is focused on Jesus and Heavenly things to carry out here on earth to bring glory to Him. No sloppy thinking or slopply life style as Hendricks says. EXCELLENCE lived and carried out in a Human Vessel carrying the light of Jesus ready to ignite anothers light for Him just as we do during Christmas Eve services. Who’s light might we light this day, year.
Debi, I like your idea above concerning the ”scent of the crown of righteousness’ given to all those who love His appearing. That is….while we are looking up in anticipation and expectancy of His appearance, we must still conduct ourselves in a life of righteousness, overcoming, self control…not self-righteousness but, thru the righteousness of the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. And that is the only way we can overcome.
And concerning the LIGHT, Isaiah 58:8 says, -about the chosen fast of God…..to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, etc. ”hen shall your light break forth….it will rise from obscurity…. as the morning sun, and your health shall spring forth speedily: and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.” Wow!
Pamela C. Hawkins In “Simply Wait”, shares….”MAY THE HOLY SPIRIT fall upon you. Like a falling star, trailing across the dawns and dusks of your Advent living, may the Spirit mark you with light and point the way toward God-With-Us. Be patient, draw close, for the Lord is very near. Amen.”
I join in and make this my prayer for each spiritual trailblazer this advent season! Today, being Christmas Eve and Christmas Day only hours away I pray the embers of Rose Fire will show in your glow.
Thank you for such a beautiful prayer, Sara. It’s the kind of prayer that to me is like a good landscape design…one with many different types of outdoor rooms and spaces, each partially hidden from sight that invites a person to move through each one in search of a hidden ‘treasure’, such as an unexpected view or a beautiful garden art.
And even though it is the middle of December, I was thinking about Knock-out roses yesterday. Such enduring roses. Even when ‘knocked-out’ for a few days by severe winds, sudden storms, unanticipated cold or unusual heat, they rebound and show their color again and again, providing a reminder of hope to a weary or discouraged gardener.
And may the glory sun [Son] of righteousness arise upon you with Healing in His wings and BEAMS!”
I wish a blessed Christmas to all the LILIES and their constituents.
In Nehemiah it is written [paraphrased]: “Go your way….go ahead….eat the fat, drink the sweet..enjoy yourselves in the Lord and be joyful.
Send to those who do not have. And do not grieve.
For the JOY JOY JOY of the Lord is your Strength.”
Celebrate the Lord God. Merry Christmas!!!
