So sad for all of us having to battle so much darkness around us.🧡
I looked into the recesses of the Fall sky and saw shades of grey. I said, “sky why were you so glistening blue yesterday? And, today you are just a dull grey? I heard the breeze around whisper dull grey gives space for the 🍁 🍂🎃 autumn colors to delight the psyche and palette alike. Yes, chase the flying leaves! 😱I did and one caught in the wavy coat of my beautiful dog 🍑 as she struck her stride. A slight giggle from deep within gave memory to gift cards that lay in a misery work pile. 😳 My reserved white space gave way to iced pumpkin cookies and cinnamon with Chai tea. Two for me and a few “ones” to share here and there. My sky broke forth into shiny silver. I wondered only for a “pause” what got in my psyche and told me shiny silver was a dull grey? Why do I need to turn my pumpkins into hollering Jack-O-Lanterns? My cookies into faces of a mystic? Maybe it’s the joy lodged between my psyche and my palette.

So glad you heard the breeze whisper, Sara, and shared with us. Love reading your words (especially “Maybe it’s the joy lodged between my psyche and my palette.”) and their descriptions. That, along with the photo and autumn colors sure brought a bright spot and joy to the day.
Debi, glad you enjoyed a bright spot! Did you enjoy your shared pumpkin cookie and tea?
I sure enjoyed the gift card from friend, Rena! The gratitude of you picking up for me is a great gift. And, the sharing of a pumpkin smile cookie with you.
When I think on the profound words found in the gospel of Matthew 16:18 I am seeing The Church prevail under and in the pavilion of God’s creation with Jesus Christ the brilliant Light! With family members staged to carry out the theme Tammy spoke of? “ I’m glad we have artists/people that can paint, create, write words, and share.” Amen!
“the breeze whisper…” I heard in post and Debi echoed in her comment, “Sara heard the breeze whisper…” Have you ever heard the breeze whisper? John 3:8 “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
And, wisdom hears the wind whisper and hollows, Ecclesiastes 11:5 “You don’t know where the wind blows. And you don’t know how a baby grows in its mother’s womb. In the same way, you don’t know what God will do—and he makes everything happen.”
WOW! Imagine if you lived one state over and the wind blew by and whispered it’s time for you to…? Would you say, oh no not the spirit? I will wait for thunder to assist my way. Tammy points out, “ we have artists/people that can paint, create, write words, and share.” That is so true but are we hearing the whispers in the wind and obeying?
We might be in this category, a blade of grass grows from what? Is it from us? Sunbeam? If it’s not totally from me I will replace the sun with my shade and no grass here will grow. Check in for review in Ecc 11:5 again.
The beautiful colors in the photo above and the colors we enjoy in the fall, does bring “Autumn Joy”. I’m glad we have artists/people that can paint, create, write words, and share. 😊
Tammy, thanks for outlining the book of Genesis. For, it’s there many unlock from within the knowledge of God, the Creator! We read the fullness of His written word and then view the majesty of Creation. God’s Son and The Holy Spirit invite all to join the family and enjoy the joy of all seasons of earth life with promise of Eternal life with God and family. He shared and shares giving us the gifts to share in this great family life. Our Heavenly Father, just seems to delight the whole being to enjoy the breaking of bread together. Table fellowship with the family of God breaks the barriers the world struggles to understand and share in.
“ Did you enjoy your shared pumpkin cookie and tea?”
Yes, I sure did enjoy and appreciate the pumpkin cookie you shared with me, Sara! It looked too pretty to eat, but it tasted great along with the lavender and honey tea you gifted me with this summer.
I would also like to add an “amen” to what Tammy shared. And it’s very encouraging to read how you weave all the examples together to make Matt 16:18 come alive and say, “When I think on the profound words found in the gospel of Matthew 16:18 I am seeing The Church prevail under and in the pavilion of God’s creation with Jesus Christ the brilliant Light! “.
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me/fluttering from the autumn tree” – Emily Bronte
I hear God in the wind and in each leaf also as they flutter from the autumn trees. Today, while walking the doggies leaves were fluttering and making streaks of glowing colors. Their voices were tuned in the key of G as I pitched my thoughts to hear the colors in the sound of glorious, almighty is He! “And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”Isaiah 6:3 NKJV
I wonder what the leaves were saying to Emily Bronte between 1818 – 1848 Living in England in very harsh and difficult circumstances. I wonder what the leaves are saying today to hearers in England, the USA and other nations as COVID-19 is ravishing our comforts and daily living is limited in ways we have never know.
Yes, God is speaking in ways and notes that may be unfamiliar to our familiar ways but He is speaking. Remember the whole earth is full of His glory! 🍁🍂
“2 Samuel 7:22 (New International Version)
“How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears.”
WOW! “As we have heard with our own ears.”
“How great you are, Sovereign Lord! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you,”
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear…”
Matthew 11:15
“I wonder what the leaves were saying to Emily Bronte between 1818 – 1848 Living in England in very harsh and difficult circumstances.”
I wonder if she was hearing about the Lord and His Glory like you were, Sara? Seems she would have to be seeing and hearing beyond what was happening in “England in very harsh and difficult circumstances” in order to rise above it all and write, “Every leaf speaks bliss to me”.
And Sara, you said, “Yes, God is speaking in ways and notes that may be unfamiliar to our familiar ways but He is speaking.”
I find your words reassuring. And I am thankful you, “pitched my thoughts to hear the colors in the sound of glorious, almighty is He! “ and appreciate the reminder to think on, “Remember the whole earth is full of His glory! “
Hey Debi, congrats on the birth of your new healthy granddaughter! Made me hear the rustling of the leaves 🍁 from quoted scriptures above, Ecclesiastes 11:5 “You don’t know where the wind blows. And you don’t know how a baby grows in its mother’s womb…”
Congratulations on the arrival of your granddaughter Debi! 💕
Thank you, Sara, for your congrats “on the birth of your new healthy granddaughter! “ Your hearing from the rustling leaves from Ecclesiastes 11:5 sure does make you think at times like these.
And then as I “Check in for review in Ecc 11:5 again.” On your above hearings and comments, I thought no wonder you said, ““He who has ears to hear, let him hear…”Matthew 11:15 ” we really do have to have ears that want to hear and a heart that wants to obey when He says “it’s time for you to…? “ Being open to the “unfamilar” can be challenging.
Regarding the blade of grass: I think if we could happily stay in our lane as “artists/people that can paint, create, write words, and share” as Tammy said and you referred to, then grass would grow. Everyone would have to do their part. One person “sees/determines” that we need grass to grow and that it needs to be in the sunlight that God provides; another person buys/provides the grass seed; someone else prepares the soil; the next one plants the grass seed; then somebody else waters and fertilizes it; and we get blades of grass. It’s not totally from any one person and is ultimately from God as you said, “and he makes everything happen.”
Makes me also think of I Cor. 3: 6, “I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.”
Thank you, Tammy, for your congratulations!
Proverbs 28:9: ‘If anyone turns a deaf ear to the Law, even his prayers are detestable.”
This statement from Proverbs should send us scurrying to the wind, leaves, blades of grass, nature in many forms to sharpen the ear.
“The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. ‘Hear, O heavens, and give ear, 👂🏻O earth; for the Lord has spoken: “Children have I reared and brought up, but they have rebelled against me. The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”
It’s told by many, The eye gate and the ear gate are entry-only gates, the mouth gate is an entry and exit gate. With the mouth gate, food can go in and we need to watch what we eat, but words can come out and that is really what we need to guard. The Bible says in Matthew 12:34 and Luke 6:45 “that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
I have been taking note of these peculiar truths in the last week or so. I have paused to watch and hear a live video early am of a young couple that owns a little coffee shoppe in Tn. They do their Bible reading aloud and then think out loud on their readings live video. They speak very slow and early morn with first cup of brew it’s slow. It’s a nice practice for my “patience” practice. They look interesting as well. This means different that what I might see at my local coffee shoppe. I don’t even know their names or how to find. Just a connect from a friend,
A few days ago she read the Matthew scripture, “as the mouth speaks”. Sounded good with her sweet melody tones reading so slow. Hum I saw her again this am just for a few minutes but long enough to hear that she thought she blew her readings. She and young daughter make a trip to Sam’s club and she loss control of her mouth. The young daughter had really chided her behavior. Then she paused, he paused and got up refilled his coffee and I was about to lose control with all this pausing. He returned in his slow voice and told a few thoughts he had the day before about these readings. Seems his thoughts had been why are we bad (he told behavior that happens when out of parents eye and ear gates) and how we have to practice and teach children to do good?
Now this young couple, striving to overcome years of teachings or maybe actions opposed to the teachings of Jesus were reading and hearing from the word some “hard sayings”. They are embracing the truths of the teachings of Jesus and sharing their moments of oooops I failed but I’m here to share and be accountable to you. This is friends and strangers alike❤️ I thought of another truth, and the truth will set you free. “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
My thought for today, what are my wind words? 🎶 Am I listening to others that @hashtag Christian and yet lie, coverup, gossip and tell us what they want us to hear and believe? Or, this young entrepreneur couple that share truth in word and deed? Have we heard it said out of the mouth of babes truth will prevail. That truth of babes is not the newborn flesh but the newborn spirit.
“This statement from Proverbs should send us scurrying to the wind, leaves, blades of grass, nature in many forms to sharpen the ear.”
That statement and reading what you write about the eye, ear and mouth gate is a very sobering warning to think on! To think they are gates and can open and shut and we are the ones who control that. Makes me think a little differently about a scripture that came to mind from Psalm 84:10…”I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.”
I think your story about the young couple is a good example of someone(s) that want to learn and want to know and practice to do what is right.
Season of Fall
Genesis 1:14-18
English Standard Version
14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,[a] and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good

One day while coming home from a busy day teaching in Virginia during the season of Fall, I marveled at what the master did with His paint brush everday. Beautiful oranges , yellows , rustic colors strewn on God’s landscape canvas.. Each day the song Blessed Assurance was whispered in my mind and as I looked at the God’s canvas change before me. The portion that was given morning and evening was
