My Dove Moment-Tammy Holton

A love Song

In Matthew 3:16,17 A dove symbolizing peace, comfort and the fulfillment of promises. We find other times God uses The Dove to show and tell His Glory within the earth.

Saturday, April 30, 2023 I experienced a love song of kindness as encouragement in my life as this baby Dove dropped into my yard.

Lets keep watch for God’s goodness daily in our lives as he sings love songs to us in so many ways. Psalm 103:5 NLT “He fills my life with good things . My youth is renewed like an eagle.” Tammy

  1. Tammy, I love your “love song” Dove. And, I’m always in awe how year and year birds find safety around your home and dwell there to enjoy family life. I read these facts about doves:

“Doves are a family of birds related to, and to some degree, including the pigeon. They are small, and delicate, but resilient, and can survive and thrive in a variety of environments including cities and inhospitable places.

They are also a nurturing family of birds, with both parents caring for the babies, and both sexes capable of creating a substance called crop milk, which feeds their fledglings after they hatch.”

Then we have beyond stories involving real doves and the Spirit appearing in the likeness of a dove, there are also verses which use doves poetically in a variety of ways. Just to name a few…These are truly love songs. 🎼 Sing along.

Song of Solomon 4:1 – “Behold, you are beautiful, my love, behold, you are beautiful! Your eyes are doves behind your veil. Your hair is like a flock of goats leaping down the slopes of Gilead.”

Song of Solomon 5:12 – “His eyes are like doves beside streams of water, bathed in milk, sitting beside a full pool.”

WOW! How awesome is our God!

    1. Our God is awesome Sara! I am reminded this morning of another verse that I have heard you say…” I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” (NIV, Matthew 10: 16)

  2. Tammy, I love seeing your picture of the dove that visited you. That dove and your words, “he sings love songs to us in so many ways.” made me think of one of the songs Sara wrote, “Jesus is Waiting There.” A part of one verse says, “Look up, Look up past the days of gloom, And let My Mourning Dove arise in your heart. You’ll find I’m there and waiting for your call…”

  3. “Oh, that you had listened to my commands! Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.”

Do you think, “look at the birds, this might be a command to listen to so we can experience the beach side experience right from our daily duty chairs?

““That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”

  4. Tammy told me a few days ago, “I just love nature.” I think I know why? Seems God does also. I just love how often His Word guides our thoughts to nature. The Psalmist often draws our attention to the joy of what happens outside in the land and pastures where wings are the norm. Not JetBlue! Water comes in natural streams from the land not a crystal glass. Food supply might be right above our heads and to high to reach while I watch a bird perch and I think they are wondering why I need a hot stove and high$ pans. And, a thought and sounds that gives me much joy I don’t need a man made machine or vinyl to hear good music I just need a listening ear for up above my head there is music in the air. Hey, Tammy, I think I love nature, too!

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
    —Psalm 37:3 (NIV)
