I loved watching this! That cardinal looks like he knows just where to go to take full advantage of the shower provided for him and the plants he is seeming to enjoy also. I am thankful that your friend took time to view, film and share. Thanks for sharing it!
All the earth honors the LORD;
all the earth’s inhabitants stand in awe of him.
—Psalm 33:8 (CEB)
Great Psalm to read and share.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
—Hebrews 4:13 (NIV)
What a beautiful video of the birds enjoying the sprinkler! This Scripture came to mind when I saw this….”(NIV) Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? …“
Tammy, a scripture of medication to dispel the anxiety and worry that creeps in the mind even while sleeping at times. We don’t even know we need a prescription Bibical med until we wake up with how can I mange one more daily chore instead of the wonder of it all. Your sharing a wonder with a daily meditative I just read sure gives a virtue attainable for enjoying our chores.
“Why do adults tend to lose their sense of childlike wonder over the years? When did I decide that bending over and searching the sand for a piece of frosted sea glass was too much trouble? Why am I not exploring the sand with my feet, as if investigating the surface of the moon? Today I intend to reclaim the wonder of childhood. I will get up from my beach chair and step out of my comfort zone, asking God to restore my sense of wonder. I will hold seashells in my hands and study the intricacy of each one. I will throw out misconceptions that tell me that maturing years are dreary and monotonous. Wonder is that divine spark that awakens my curiosity and deepens my awareness of God.”
—Missy Buchanan, Beach Calling: A Devotional Journal for the Middle Years and Beyond (Upper Room Books, 2019)
“I will throw out misconceptions that tell me that maturing years are dreary and monotonous.” Now, that sounds just like the kind of medicine that is just what the doctor ordered! Hey…..it can be used PRN (as needed, in the medical profession) 🙂
Amen! Let’s not forget to remind one another we are on PRN! When we see, “as needed” in ourselves or in those in our orbit that we can medicate by our spark let’s give the wonder pill. “Wonder is that divine spark that awakens my curiosity and deepens my awareness of God.”
