Be Patient with yourself

It’s seed time in No Va where I live. It’s time to plant and it’s such a joyful time as we share seeds, plant seeds and wake up with eyes, to look and see, what we might see! Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which states, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: … a time to plant, and a time to pull up that which is planted…”.

Be Patient , not sure from whom I received this drawing but I like it!

“This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. “(Habakkuk 2:3)

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” (Roman’s 8:25)

(Psalm 37:7) “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his ways.”

Be sure to give thought to what you are waiting for and then answer the question posed by Jesus himself;

“What do you want me to do for you?”
‭‭(Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭36‬ ‭CEB‬‬)

Harvest time will come!

  1. What a great picture and scriptures to illustrate your blog title, Sara! I think it helps us understand seasons of life and divine transformation. Wow! Every stage/season of that insect is beautiful, meaningful, necessary…having to crawl and eat leaves as a caterpillar; then climb and spin what looks like a space capsule around yourself; only to wait, be still and transformed in the darkness of the capsule until time to exit and fly.

    You wrote “it’s such a joyful time as we share seeds, plant seeds”. I agree! And to just look at and feel a seed and think that God has implanted life in that seed and that everything and every season/stage that the seed will become is all there….cycling from baby stem, leaves, roots to a mature plant, then to flower and finally to fruit.

    And this scripture in the blog, “Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, which states, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: … a time to plant, and a time to pull up that which is planted…”. Made me think of something from a book Sara gave me years ago, “The Private World of Tasha Tudor”. I love her art and reading about her skills and ways of life. In one of her seasons’ chapters titled “Winter”, she wrote, “Sometimes when I’ve been throwing hay around, it smells like summer in the barn, and the sun comes through the windows and the cracks in the boards and makes shafts of light in the dusty air. But I never long for summer in winter. What is that lovely quote from Shakespeare – “At Christmas I no more desire a rose / Than wish a snow in May’s newfangled mirth.” That’s the idea. For everything there is a season.”

    When I read the scripture and context to His question, “What do you want me to do for you?” (Mark 10:36 CEB)”, I saw that Jesus answered the persons who asked Him for something, “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said.” (vs 38).  So, such a great exhortation to us by this blog title, “Be patient with yourself”, and the wisdom and directive to “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;” Thank you, Sara.

  2. The footnotes for Habakkuk 2:3 says; (NLT) “Evil and injustice seem to have the upper hand in the world. Like Habakkuk, Christians often feel angry and discouraged as they see what goes on. Habakkuk complained vigorously to God about the situation. God’s answer to Habakkuk is the same answer he would give us. ‘ if it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place’ it isn’t easy to be patient, but it helps to remember that God hates sin even more than we do. Punishment of sin will certainly come. As God told Habakkuk,’ wait patiently’. We must trust God, even when we don’t understand why events occur as they do.”
    I have to agree with the above comment that says..”it isn’t easy to be patient”, but we must remember God is always in control, so we must trust Him. 🙏🙏🙏
