Prayer offers Love, Hope and Peace…

John 15:25 (NIV) Jesus spoke and said; “All this I have spoken while still with you.26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Peace to you and you and all we meet let us share our love and Peace!

  1. “my peace I give you”…

“Sara, just gazing at this beautiful photo brings peace. How unchangeable are the patterns of the tides, and the sun that God made. That stability brings peace in an unstable and uncertain world.

    “Peace I leave with you”…

What true peace to know that although we were, “Once alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.” (Colossians 1:21), that Jesus came to die on a cross in our place so we could have peace with God and not be His enemy. “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.” Romans 5:1

And even more peace and Hope I think it brings to know that this is not a faith we can muster up, but it is also an undeserving gift from God. Thank you, God for your great, great love. “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, / not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

    1. Debi, you share; “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, / not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

A gift you mention seems to be the answer to our personal issues as well as to our world issues. The “Peace gift” we that accept this gift are advised in the instructions that it is a different peace gift that the world gives.

The “Peace gift” we that accept this gift are advised in the instructions it is a different peace gift that the world gives. Therefore, we need a Manuel to understand the difference between the two types of peace.

With so much going on in the world and our new ways of connecting to the world at large do we have the tools and skills to use our peace gift for its purpose.

We find a lot of talk. And, I mean a lot of talk from being gifted with internet devices and skills.

We have a gift or gifts by Grace for faith to have peace but it is different than maybe a similar gift from the world also giving out a peace gift. Big question for me; don’t we need to know the difference? Live the difference? Teach the difference? Or. blend the two for what benefits us?

I would agree that we need to understand and know the difference in the kinds of peace. If that were not so, then Jesus would not have made the point that the kind of Peace He gives is not the same as what the ‘world’ gives.

Some peace definitions from an online dictionary: “freedom from disturbance; tranquility.”; 2.a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended.”

A couple of words from Jesus on this subject and these definitions come to mind:

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.” Matt 10:34

And… “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” Galatians 5:22

Seems two items can look alike, but one can be a fake or a ‘knockoff’. Even satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Cor 11:14).

I have heard something like this said about how to spot counterfeit money/bills….don’t study the fake bills; study, learn, and know all about the characteristics of the genuine ones and then you will be able to spot the counterfeits.

Wisdom words from one of Sara’s workbook teachings, “Throwing Your Light Forward”, comes immediately to mind in her book introduction which I think helps identify and differentiate the kind of peace Jesus is and gives vs others. Her words: “Introduction, finding your archetype…the original pattern or model from which all things of the same kind are copied or on which they are based.”

  3. The footnotes for John 15:26 says:( NLT)”Once again, Jesus offers hope. The Holy Spirit gives strength to endure the unreasonable, hatred and evil in our world and the hostility toward Christ. This is especially comforting for those facing persecution.” These verses shared above from John 15 are encouraging. We have an advocate! 🙏✝️
