Barn Yard Art and Prayer Wall in the making

A making of our Barn Yard Art and Prayer Wall for Autumn by Ricky
An update on progress of art

Surely, God is present in this place! ๐Ÿ™ May this place serve as a spiritual awakening for everyone who witnesses this scene and offers prayers, whether in person, online, or as a vision. ๐Ÿ™ I offer my prayer alongside yours:

Heavenly Father, please call your saints, children, into a listening, hearing, seeing, really seeing of โ€œTruthโ€โ€” Your truth. Knowledge with understanding โ€“ wisdom without fear โ€“ Doers of Your word โ€“ Please correct us that walk in darkness, correct our hearing, seeing, doing โ€“ deeds, words, actions โ€“ So many things seem out of focus โ€“ Even our prayers at times seem to be outdated for the needs of today โ€“ Our strength being weakened โ€“ words conveyed having no meaning in the battles of today โ€“

Holy Spirit, teach us about God, our creator, and make His truth known to us today. Just as when Thomas, a disciple of Jesus, Your son, doubted his resurrection from death, Jesus appeared and allowed Thomas to use his own fingers to touch the scars in His hands. Your love for him and us was revealed in this action of Jesus. He didnโ€™t find fault with Thomasโ€™s doubting but showed grace for his fading faith through His words.

Please intervene in our lapsed faith at times. The misunderstandings and the conduct that lacks love, as exemplified by the art of grace and mercy, need our intervention.

May this photo of Barn Yard Art in the making remind us of a story about another barnyard art offering lodging to a Mother and Father who were seeking a place to give birth to their son, Jesus.

Pull back the veil that we, your children, may see, as we change and doโ€ฆ In Your Holy Name, I prayโ€ฆ

Beloved, we are Godโ€™s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 (NRSVUE)

  1. What beautiful โ€œBarn Yard Art and Prayer Wall for Autumn by Rickyโ€! It is an inviting scene to gaze upon, and read Saraโ€™s words, prayers and scripture.

I would like to add a prayer of agreement to her prayers for the prayer wall.

โ€œPull back the veil that we, your children, may see, as we change and doโ€โ€ฆ

I think Rickyโ€™s garden with contrast of colors which will change as the season changes, yet with art structures providing the unchanging anchor, illustrates these prayer words of Saraโ€™s as well as the message from the video about the โ€œonly thing or person that never changes.โ€

  2. I agree in prayer with the above ๐Ÿ™. The footnotes for 1 John 3: 2,3 says: (NLT) โ€œThe Christian life is a process of becoming more and more like Christ ( see Romans 8:29). This process will not be complete until we see Christ face-to-face (1 Corinthians 13::12, Philippians3:21), But knowing that it is our ultimate destiny should motivate us to purify ourselves. To keep pure means to keep morally straight, free from the corruption of sin. God also purifies us, but there is action we must take to remain morally fit (see 1Timothy 5:22; James 4:8;1 Peter 1:22).โ€ Beautiful prayer wall in the above photo. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  3. I love reading the footnotes posted often by Tammy and Debiโ€™s sharing of the things she sees and thinks of when it comes to a plant or nature.

I have a 5 yr old G-daughter that shares play dates with me. Itโ€™s just us. Well, almost! We have a tiny doll collection that she thinks calls for much care. Now, that is doctor care, of which she is Dr, once she puts on her tiny size white jacket and hangs her play stethoscope gently around her neck. Always, asking, โ€œNurseโ€ and, thatโ€™s me not Tammy the real nurse. ๐Ÿฅฐ Whatโ€™s wrong? Recently Iโ€™ve introduced her to the under tongue thermometer and taking their temperature. We are learning a bit high or low calls for a discussion on change. Maybe an aspirin or just a little rest. She often thinks maybe a shot and those magical band-aides will adjust the temp. She also reminds me we need to be kind. Speak kind words. Seemly babies,(ie our dolls) are all perfect within minutes and ready for the swimming pool and playground.ย Rereading our blog and comments has prompted me to ask the Holy Sporit to teach me how I can make small changes to help bring temps down or temps up when needed in todayโ€™s world be it in child play or food shopping? Whatever it may be or wherever it may be.ย

A child at play as doctor and dolls as patients reminds me kindness in word, deeds and actions may start with a doll then family, friends and come Monday morning a classroom of 5 yr olds for her and maybe neighborhood chats for me.

A high school class for Debi and a hospital for Tammy. WOW! The good news of healing and health is contagious and spreads quickly if we follow the footnotes above, โ€œ but there is action we must take to remain morally fit.โ€ And, I ask, what are they for me?

    1. Sara asks, โ€œhow I can make small changes to help bring temps down or temps up when needed in todayโ€™s world โ€œand also states, โ€œbut there is action we must take to remain morally fit.โ€

One of my am devotionals was about being a part of the โ€˜processโ€™ of Godโ€™s work on earth. In part of a prayer by the author she states, โ€œโ€ฆhelp me to remember that Iโ€™m always sharing You by the way I live and by how I treat othersโ€ฆโ€

Since I work w/ high school students as Sara mentioned above, I get to see their interactions in different ways and interact with them about different things, but especially plants. Some students love their at home plant collections like a doll collection and want to show them to me and even share parts of their collection with the rest of the class. In their concern, they often ask questions about their health and well-being in trying to diagnose and care for them. ย Many students are responsible for a โ€˜plant collectionโ€™ in the school greenhouse and just observing how they โ€˜treatโ€™ them and care for them; and what questions and concerns they have, gives me opportunity to learn from them โ€ฆ and respond and share back. These are always windows of opportunity to do/extend as Sara writes above, โ€œkindness in word, deeds and actions.โ€

      1. Debi, your am readings by a lady today states she shared; โ€œโ€ฆhelp me to remember that Iโ€™m always sharing You by the way I live and by how I treat othersโ€ฆโ€

Did she give examples of the difference between how she lived in contrast to others that would showed to others this was Living for Christ rather than for the father of lies?

In thinking a little on this itโ€™s a little scary when using a comparison like this? Nice to know a bit more how she does it?

  4. “Did she give examples of the difference between how she lived in contrast to others that would showed to others this was Living for Christ rather than for the father of lies?”

This was the full devotional. Hope it clarifies.

The title was โ€œPart of the Processโ€. The scripture reference was Matthew 4:19, “Come, follow Me”, Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

She said, “Jesus always knew why He was on earth. He never lost his focus about what His job was. You have a job, too. When you gave your life to Jesus you acquired a new purpose in life. You now have the same purpose He has – to bring people to faith in Him. As you follow Jesus, He will show you how to be a part of the process of leading others to faith in Him. Jesus used the fishing example in talking with His disciples because they were fishermen. Look for Him to use in ways you are familiar with also. Maybe you will be the first step of developing a friendship with someone and then another believer will take things from there. Jesus will use your strengths and the gifts He gave you.

Dear Father, Iโ€™m excited and honored to be a part of your work on earth. I pray for opportunities to share Your love with others. And if I donโ€™t have chances to verbally share, help me to remember that Iโ€™m always sharing You by the way I live and how I treat others. May my life leave a sweet scent that draws others to you.!โ€ (from the โ€œIllustrated Words of Jesus for Womenโ€ by Carolyn Larsen)

    1. โ€œfor it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.โ€

Thanks Debi for taking time to share this lesson. I find the answer to my question in her words; โ€œJesus always knew why He was on earth. He never lost his focus about what His job was. You have a job, too. When you gave your life to Jesus you acquired a new purpose in life. You now have the same purpose He has โ€“ to bring people to faith in Him. As you follow Jesus, He will show you how to be a part of the process of leading others to faith in Him.โ€
