Quietness has a voice

My pink phone stand has a voice of its own 🌈

“Better a handful with quietness Than both hands full, together with toil and grasping for the wind.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

Christmas Holiday is over and down comes the many festive decorations. Things seem so plain and bland. Troubles seem to be looming throughout our nation and many parts of the world. Where are you Lord?

My pink phone holder before it found its voice?

As I sat quietly after my litany of prayers for many I wondered if my prayers were a ritual of my voice with hopelessness for these mind boggling issues.

  • Isaiah 30:15: “In quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
  • Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.”
  • 1 Peter 3:4: “Let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.”
  • Proverbs 17:28: “Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise.”

I tried to follow a few Bibical guidelines for quietness as noted in these scriptures. When I opened my eyes and glanced down I saw my above photo of my pink talking phone holder. God’s promises were on display in Rainbow colors.

It’s been a few days and I’m back in my prayer space about many of the same world concerns. I added the concerns of this very highly predictable snow and ice storm that is giving warning of the biggest etc etc for years so be prepared.

I began to get a bit anxious with my added concern of snow and ice storms heaped on the list of growing concern in our nation of great divisions and dangers in our cities where immigration policies are screaming for calm,

I, opened my eyes and in almost disbelief my phone holder was talking again and had enlighten my pens to speak with glee and delight.

I see a picture of God’s beauty and holiness. Ezekiel 1:28: “Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.”

God with us. (Matthew 1:23)

  1. Sara, I think you have prophetically given ‘quiet’ a new meaning and shown the power of it in how you observed and interpreted your talking phone stand and all the related scriptures.

“God’s promises were on display in Rainbow colors.” This surely gives a sign of Hope in the midst of all the “world concerns” as well as the weather. As you wrote. “God with us(Matthew 1:23)”.

These verses came to mind as I read and re-read all you wrote and thought about the power of “Quietness has a voice”; and the importance and impact of your pink talking phone stand.

    “The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
    Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
    They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.”

    Psalm 19: 1-4

  2. After reading this blog, and seeing the beautiful rainbow colors on the phone stand and cup/pens, I wanted to read again God’s promise from Genesis. I will share here from (NLT) Genesis 9: 12-17. “Then God said, ‘ I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all the creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is a sign of my covenant with you and with all the Earth. When I send clouds over the Earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth. Then God said to Noah, ‘Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant. I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.” 🌈 God is still keeping His promises and He always will.🙏

  3.  ‘Yes, this rainbow is the sign of the covenant. I am confirming with all the creatures on earth.”
Thanks Debi and Tammy for giving faith building blocks. An elderly lady told me after reading this her faith was renewed.
🌈 God is still keeping His promises and He always will.🙏

  4. As I read and thought about what Tammy wrote from Genesis 9: 12-17 and looked at the huge rainbow and praying hands posted by Sara, I thought of magnification and how those colorful symbols are greater than anything on the pages; showing how powerful and mighty God’s promises are and helping to keep our focus on them and Truth.

Psalm 138:2 states, “I will bow down [in worship] toward Your holy temple And give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word together with Your name.” (AMP)

God’s Word translation says it this way: “You have made your name and your promise greater than everything.”

  5. “give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word together with Your name.” (AMP) Psalm 138:2

Debi and Tammy, you have given us the rain that brings the Rainbow of remembrance.

My Thoughtful thought, Our Heavenly Father (name) had shown His loving kindness to all by giving His Son as a sacrificial Lamb for the remission of our sins! His name is Jesus. And, He, Jesus has given us truth He reveals this truth through Scripture: The Bible is His word, containing truth.

Jesus is “the way, and the truth, and the life” in the New Testament, John 14:6.Holy Spirit: Guides believers into truth (John 16:13).

    •  God’s truth is absolute, unchanging, dependable, and the standard for all reality.
    • Believers accept this truth by hearing the “word of truth” (the gospel) and following God’s word as protection against deception, 1 Peter 1:25.
    • Revelation 4:3 The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow.
  6. Dosent this feel like a Rainbow promise?
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.

    —Psalm 145:18 (NRSVUE)

    1. Yes, Sara… God’s promises are true and we can depend on them. I thought I would share a little more from Psalm 145, verses 13-21. (NLT) “For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious, in all he does. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. The eyes of all look to you in hope; you give them their food as they need it. When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing. The Lord is righteous and everything he does; he is filled with kindness. The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them. The Lord protects all those who love him, but he destroys the wicked. I will praise the Lord, and may everyone on earth bless his holy name forever ever and ever.” Thank You Heavenly Father for Your promises 🙏🌈

      1. Reading Tammy’s scriptures I seem to remember there is a beginning for us to remember…

“Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.” From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.””
        ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
        https://bible.com/bible/114/mat.4.12-17.NKJV

      2. I just have to share the footnotes for Matthew 4: 17, (NLT) “ Jesus started his ministry with the same message people had heard John the Baptist say: ‘Repent of your sins.’ The message is the same today as when Jesus and John gave it. Becoming a follower of Christ means turning away from our self-centeredness and ‘self’ control and turning our life over to Christ’s direction and control.”🙏🙏🙏

  7. “Dosent this feel like a Rainbow promise?
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.”

Yes, it does, Sara! Thank you for sharing it to remind and encourage us!

Mentioning “Rainbow promise” brought to remembrance a lesson from Sara’s retreat book, “Dressing For His Glory”. The lesson (6) was all about the rainbow; and reminded us that “Clouds of Rain Bring Showers of Blessing”; and that we are “To See the Silver-Lining in the Storm by: 1. Understanding the Rainbow    2. Understanding the Covenant     3. Knowing God’s Promises”.

Great encouragement for the storms of life that so many are going through even now!

And in the same lesson, we are asked to examine Psalm 34 “The Rainbow” Promises”, and “see how many promises you can find.” The example provided is vs. 17, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. This verse seems to connect and affirm the scripture Sara posted in her last comment, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”

    1. Thanks Debi for taking your time and research skills to bring to our remembrance the lessons some of us have studied and hopefully turned into a light and color that shines within the Rainbow Promise.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)
