Personal information
Biography:
I have recently graduated from college and am currently working in Atlanta, GA in order to pay for graduate school at New York University in the Fall of 2007. I am so excited and blown away day after day at the ways that God is working and is moving to allow me to be a part of His beautiful plan. I have a passion for bringing hope to the people of other nations, especially the people of Uganda; this is the thing that makes my heart race and is what I truly believe that God has created me to do.Continue reading “Lindsey”
This is Our New Life
I had to write a poem about the I Have a Dream speech for a contest and this is what I wrote.
It is called This is Our New Life.
My brothers and sisters black and white
They did not give up without a fight
So everyone I see
Would soon be free
Look around for the blank pages to be found
With the discoveries it will see
You never know what is next for you and me
No one knew here today
Everyone would be free with every say
No one is picking cotton their whole life
Or doing another persons dos their whole life
Kids can have friends
Black and white again
My brother or sister black or white
Are not at any fight
Just holding hands
With all my friends
That was the dream
That is our NEW life
I hope you liked it!
With Faith,
GraceContinue reading “This is Our New Life”
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RENA
We are sending lots of love and prayers your way to wish you the very best birthday ever. I am sending greetings from your favorite little town and your favorite coffee shop in town. Now guess where?
Things I think I Know
I know some things, but not many things do I know, compared to the many things yet to be known.
I understand quite a few things, but not all things, for I do know, understanding is not about me or original to me.
I have answers to both some great and small questions; but it’s not the only answers to my questions or the final answers to be known.
I love much but not enough to get the work of love done all alone. I know loving the world will help my knowing.
I hope you don’t feel bad for me or think I feel sad for myself. I feel like I am in a great ‘state of hope’.
President Bush indicated it takes a thumpin to know some things. My heart is thumpin to know many things.
Things I thought I really knew, are changing day by day. So what do I really know at the end of each day? I know I can’t control change of too many things, and those I do are minute in range.
Merry Christmas Target
Here we are very early in the Holiday season. Chris and Tammy just called to tell me as they were leisurely strolling through Target they were greeted with Merry Christmas big and bold on Holiday signs. Cards, decorations, and gifts to purchase that say to us Christmas is about Christ the Lord and His Birth.
I appreciate you Target and employees that take the time to provide a greeting of “Merry Christmas” as I go about my shopping and enjoying the joy. I do love your stores and it’s one of my favorite stops almost daily.
I pray that we as customers will remember to greet Target employees with Merry Christmas and pause to say, Thank you.

Great quotes
This is National Education Week and the NEA sent us some great quotes from great people concerning teaching and education. I thought we might enjoy these.
…A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
____Henry Brooks Adams
…Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.
_____Japanese Proverb
…One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.

Sponge “Peacock”
As I was reading in early morning from Ezekiel 13, this passage of scripture really stood out to me
in light of the many things on our minds at this time.
It says: “The fact is that they’ve lied to my people…. When
people build a wall, they’re right behind them slapping on whitewash. Tell
those who are slapping on the whitewash, that when a torret of rain comes
and the hailstones crash down and the hurricane sweeps in. Then the wall
collapses, what’s the good of the whitewash that you slapped on so
liberally, making it look good.”
Having myself gone through Katrina here in Louisiana with all the wood that was soaked in the floods
and rot, I knew when the scripture said the storms came, the whitewash wall
would not stand. Today one of our pastors said that if you left a sponge in
the water that it would eventually rot. He explained that holding the word
of God Continue reading “Sponge “Peacock””
The Friendship Creation
After finishing the book, THE BRIDGE TO TERABITHIA by Katherine Paterson,Mrs. O
had her fifth grade students prepare a speech from the perspective of the main character,
Jess Aarons, who had matured into a well rounded adult. We were to
pretend that we were asked to give a speech on friendship. We were to
weave a metaphor or simile through their work using scenes from the story.
We were to share with the reader something of ourselves.
Here is my speech.
Entitled: The Friendship Creation
Hello! I am Jess Aarons, and I am here to talk to you about friendship.
This may not be interesting to you right now, but trust me it will one day.
You never know when your friend is going to disappear. I might talk about
friendship different than your teacher does.
I had a friend named Leslie. She was one of the most interesting friends I
had ever had. Well, Leslie Continue reading “The Friendship Creation”
