A View from the Mountaintop called Truth

When you have the idea or a passion to view and then “tell the truth” always remember that truth is from the view you have of it and you only have a partial view and that view may not have been or be the best view for total truth.
The Word of God written by the Apostle Paul (I Corinthians 13:12 Ampli.) says, we are looking in a mirror that only gives a dim (blurred) reflection (of reality as in a riddle or enigma) but then (when perfection comes) we shall see in reality and face to face.
I try to remind myself to be humble and remember there will be different interpretations of truth as we have all heard just a little different or seen just a little different or may have been taught a little different view.
We may not have the whole of the issue whether from someone telling us or seeing with our naked eye. We may not have the essence of the story or maybe the motive of the storyteller, or their countenance, which reveals much, or voice pitch or other related factors that will reveal complete truth. The Apostle Paul goes on to say in vs. 13 ” so faith, hope, love abides and the greatest of all is love.
Attitude and gratitude may play a major factor in our minds and reflect the state of our own thinking and speaking power.
So when we think we are telling the truth, we are just telling truth as we can see or hear and to the amount of love we have for truth and for others! Isaiah, the prophet (Isaiah 13:13-15) reveals a mystery you may hear but not hear, you may see but not see.
Matthew 13:13 give us another account of our seeing and hearing dilemma while relating to Isaiah’s account. (Matthew 13:13-17 would be a great reading for further details on seeing, hearing and understanding truth).
When one finally sees truth and hears truth to the point of speaking truth it is only because one has a measure of perfection within them.
Truth is all about ME! Yes it’s all about ME from my mountain view!
WHAT IS TRUTH? DID JESUS EVER ANSWER PILATE WHEN HE ASKED JESUS THAT QUESTION?
BUT IN “JOHN” JESUS DID SAY …”I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE” ANYTHING ELSE, I GUESS, IS AS YOU STATED….”MY MOUNTAINTOP EXPERIENCE OF THE TRUTH.”
Sounds like our mountain view will be very distorted unless we see it through the eyes of Jesus…and that getting his perfect eyesight will cost us something.
It seems that just as beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, so is truth….
I BELIEVE BEING TRUTHFULL WITH YOURSELF IS MOST IMPORTANT. I’D RATHER BE DISLIKED FOR BEING HONEST WITH MYSELF AND OTHERS THEN BE DISKILED FOR NOT BEING TRUTHFULL……. JERSEY
Dear Jersey
I believe Truth is the Essence of Spirit and you have revealed it.
Thanks,
Sara
It is hard to remember sometimes that not everyone sees the “truth” the way that you (me) see it. I think your statement about being humble and remembering that the “truth” is based a lot in past experiences for people is an important one. Many people struggle with this, I know I do.
I’ve been watching the season change and thinking as I ride over the Blue Ridge Mountains weekly. I guess one gets a little better view from the mountaintop when the chill of winter comes and there are no leaves left on the trees to block the view. Exposure seems to help us get to the truth a little quicker.
MG says, It seems that “truth, like beauty ” is in the eye of the beholder.” If one opines that a certain “frock” is lovely, becoming etc. and another says that it is not then what is the truth? I suppose that the “truth” is in the eye of the wearer or the garment. If she/he thinks it is becoming to them then that is the truth for them; or a hairdo, or a picture or painting, etc. Thank God for His Word by which we can judge all things and the Holy Spirit Who enhances our judgments by the Word of God. Hairdo’s and frocks notwithstanding, we ask that the holy Spirit counsel us in discerning and speaking TRUTH.
