A Song of Blessing

This song has been such a blessing to me that I would like to share with all of you. Let’s all just sing together now.

“God is in Control”
Twila Paris

This is no time for fear
This is a time for faith and determination
Don’t lose the vision here
Carried away by emotion
Hold on to all that you hide in your heart
There is one thing that has always been true
It holds the world together

God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control, oh God is in control

History marches on
There is a bottom line drawn across the ages
Culture can make its plan
Oh, but the line never changes
No matter how the deception may fly
There is one thing that has always been true
It will be true forever

He has never let you down
Why start to worry now?
He is still the Lord of all we see
And He is still the loving Father
Watching over you and me

watching over you…watching over me..
watching over every things..
watching over you..watching over me..
every little sparrow..every little things…

  1. this will or should put the brakes on for some of us. Seemly, we perfer our fears to our trusting. Fears and emotions gives us a ‘show and tell’ show while trust brings peace and solitude and just might decrease our show.

Twila writes “History marches on, There is a bottom line drawn across the ages…” The Prophet Jeremiah writes (16:14) “They have also healed the hurt of My people slightly. Saying ‘Peace, peace! When there is no peace!

Thank U Tammy for bringing this song to The Daily Lily as it is timeless in its message and so encouraging to remember ‘He has never let you down, Why start to worry now?’

  2. In several places in the Scriptures the LORD commands to make a remebrance or a kind of “memorialziing” of certain Feats that HE has accomplished in the lives of and for His people. This song seems to be that kind of song that pulls us back to remember that GOD is indeed in control. In the heat of the battle, in the confusions of circumstances, in the stunning surpise of the attack, in the hurts of a situation, in the shock of a confrontation, this reminds us of WHO is in control, always, and Who will pull us through. We need not “worry our pretty little heads” over each and every conflict knowing that GOD is at the helm. How do we do that? BY faith. Hab 2:4 says that, “the just shall live by faith”. We know that without faith it is impossible to please the LORD, so we must make a conscious decision to trust the LORD in all these things. Jesus wants us to. He says, plaintively, in Luke 18:8, “When the Son of returns shall He find faith in the earth?” Oh, we pray so, Lord Jesus!
This song’s sentiments go along with Sara’s teaching on Happiness & Joy. It reminds me of a song our principal at my school would play every morning before the last bell rang…”DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY”!
    I choose THAT!!!!

  3. Thanks Needles for sharing such an inspirational song. This is an anchor in a storm that holds and a lighthouse on a dark night to guide.

  4. Thank you Needles for sharing this song……I read in Luke 12;22,26,27 that Jesus tells us be not anxious for …your life, for food, for your body, for clothes…He tells us to consider the Ravens…they are fed…consider the Lilies…they are arrayed finer than Solomon. Why be anxious when…God is in control!…dj

  5. Dear Needles,

Thank you for sharing the words of this beautiful song. Just the other day I was thanking God that He was in control. Sometimes when the pressures of life are so great, you think, “God I’m glad you are in control” because this is way beyond me. He always seems to pull us through, so why worry, why worry indeed – and yet we do at times.
