Today would have been Sister Grandma’s 100th birthday. I often thank God for a godly mother who took us to church, taught us many good things and “grew us kids up” to the best of her ability. She saw many changes in her long lifetime and as the times changed she adapted to them (mostly) and after being in a denominational church from her birth, she caught the true meaning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and received Him into her life as her Lord and Savior. Then she prayed for me until I came into the full knowledge of the Salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sara pondered about Sister Grandma’s birthday….”I wonder what her cake is like in Heaven, today, and who is attending her birthday party?” That set me to thinking that Sis G., as we called her, must be dancing and singing at the greatest RE-Birthday Party of her eternal life. All the saints in Heaven are attending. What celebrated guests are on hand! And most importantly, Jesus, Himself is there and the breath of the HOLY SPIRIT will help her blow out the candles on her cake
Yes, Sister Grandma, ANNA, as the Lord calls her now, would have been 100 years old, today. But…..NOW, SHE’S MUCH YOUNGER!!!
BLESSED RE-BIRTHDAY SISTER GRANDMA. I LOVE YOU

Your mother’s length of life reminds me of the beautiful promises in Psalm 91 for those who abide in the Lord and dwell in the secret place of the Most High during their life and set their love upon Him. One of the promises in Ps 91:16 is …”with long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
I agree wholeheartedly with what you said about precious Grandma. What a wonderful role model for us.
of your Mom’s homegoing is today I believe. I can only think of Ivan Parker singing “I Can Only Imagine.”
Artist: MercyMe
Album : Almost There
Song: I Can Only Imagine
Lyrics :
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When Your face
Is before me
I can only imagine
{Chorus}:
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for You Jesus or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in Your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
Our thoughts are with you and your family today as you have the opportunity to pause and remember and imagaine.
Thank you, precious friends, for the solicitous words of love and encouragement. Yes, indeed, I thought about Sister Grandma a lot, today and in prayers I congratulated her for her magnificent graduation and for her having been PREPARED to enter the KINGDOM that JESUS had promised to PREPARE for her and for ALL THOSE WHO LOVE HIM and await His appearing. I blieve with all my heart that Sister Grandma is among the virgins with oil lamps brimmed and trimmed and burning brightly. And now, I see her gazing over the bannisters of Heaven, cheering us on and from a distance, I seem to see her pointing a finger at a spot I missed when I ws sweeping the Kitchen floor, today! You’re right, again, Mother….as usual. How I love you, Sister Grandma!!!!
Thanks, Sara! This one of my favorite songs. It is so true. You know, Sister Grandma loved to dance. She was a lovely dancer. Now she is dancing with Jesus Who, I read in the Scriptures is quite a dancer Himself as He leaps and twirls for joy when He dances. Oh what at glorious sight!! What a wonderful Anniversary party they must be having!! They sure know how to celebrate EVERYTHING in Heaven. Happy Homegoing Sister Grandma. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE!
Sister Grandma is cheering us on with all the other Saints in Glory…..O the joy she is having….in deed I too can only imagine..dj
