Thanksgiving Day

On this Thanksgiving Day I pray: Father God, thank you for life. This ‘musical composition’ of my life that you have prepared and composed for me, with me in mind from the genesis of time, before the worlds were created. You orchestrated and plotted out the lines and the spaces, the sharps, the flats and the accidental and the clef signs of my life. You wrote your melody upon what would be turned from a heart of stone into a soft and malleable heart….that inescapable love song that no other composer can write; this symphony, this concerto where sometimes I am the solo instrument and in other measures I am accompanied by a host of other players musicians, and must play in tune with them.

All Changes;

“All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another.”

I am a spiritual coward

Are you a spiritual wimp? I am. Unhappily, I am a spiritual coward. I know, a bit, the Word of God. I have had revelatory teaching and prophetic teachings where I worship. I have read the Bible stories and the exhortative parables that Jesus taught His disciples. But …when it comes to confrontation, facing a lie, or facing the truth, I shrink back. Or let me say I have been shrinking back.
In instances where I know the truth about a situation or an event I shrink back. When I have been faced with exposing a sin or a lie where a friend is in a bad situation…I do not help. I shrink back. When a loved one was dying and repenting of incidences in life that were regretful, I loathed to add to the guilt other things that I knew about. I started to shrink back then.

A Prayer for healing and;

Do you need healing? Or, someone you know need healing let me say a prayer for you and them:
Dear God,
This is my friend whom I love and this is my prayer for her. Help her live her life to the fullest. Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her to shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs You the most, and let her know when she walks with You, she will always be safe.
Thank You for healing her and making her whole and healthy and holy and honorable and happy as only YOU can cause to happen in her life.

In a compilation of Charles Spurgeon’s works, DISCOVERING THE POWER OF THE CROSS OF CHRIST, I read a new and exciting ( new to me, anyway) attitude of looking at the Cross of Christ. Spurgeon calls IT, “ THE MARVELOUS MAGNET”. In this particular teaching, Spurgeon describes the work of Christ on the Cross in these terms. The attraction of the Cross is …the death of the Son of God and “it is to this shameful death upon the tree that He is able to draw all men unto Himself”.

Last week Sara challenged us to look into the Scriptures concerning lying and repercussions that are involved. Amazingly, I learned quite a few “new” things to meditate on and consider in my own life.
I could list the myriad of Scripture references here but that is easily done by Googleing or using a good concordance. But one that I will reference is that God hates lying. (Prov. 6:16).
I also studied what other noted Bible teachers preached about LYING and their interpretation of the Scriptures. The following observations are what I gleaned from the Scriptures and Bible teachers about LYING.

Christ Is Wisdom The Bible Tells Me So

Reading the Book of Proverbs and searching the Word of God for practical principles to apply to situations in my present life, I found these verses and observations of truths in Proverbs 10 that spoke to me, giving spiritual food to appropriate, digest and apply to my life circumstances and what’s going on in my life right now.
VERSE 8 says that those of foolish of lips shall fall headlong. That means to me that if I jest too much, play the clown too often, at inappropriate times, or blabber on and on unnecessarily, that I will eventually “take a dive”!!
