HAPPY FEET (PG)
In the great nation of Emperor Penguins in Antarctica, you’re nobody unless you can sing, which is bad news for Mumble (Elijah Wood), who is the worst singer in the world. But he sure can tap dance. Mumble’s mom, Norma Jean (Nicole Kidman), thinks his dancing is cute, but his dad, Memphis (Hugh Jackman), says it “just ain’t penguin.” Besides, they both know that, without a “heartsong,” Mumble may never find true love. His one friend, Gloria (Brittany Murphy), happens to be the best singer around, and the two have a connection from the moment they hatch, even though she has a tough time understanding her pal’s eccentricities.

  1. I saw this movie tonight and it is Excellent. It made me fall in love with Jesus all over again. It teaches us ways to overcome the Giant. fear, in our lives as well as other giants.

With God, all things are possible.

  2. Today I went to see THE NATIVITY STORY with Dorothy and MG. It was a wonderful movie for all to see. It portrayed so beautifully the gift of God sending His Son in the flesh to earth and the trials, dangers and opposition that He (and Mary and Joseph) faced before and right after His birth. The movie showed that God wove a way for Him to come through people with willing hearts who listened, responded, and obeyed His voice. I loved the way it showed the Wise Men using their knowledge and tools and faith to earnestly seek and travel to find Him. I think the way it was done will impact the lives of those who see it.

    1. The thing that impressed me most that the movie brought out was that no matter how great the powers,( at that time it was the powerful and dreaded Roman Empire) oppose; no matter how difficult the journey; no matter how impossible the mission, GOD’S Eternal plan will Not be Thwarted. And I noted that as long as Mary (with Joseph) had the BABY JESUS within her, God brought them safely to the destination prophesied hundreds of years before in Isaiah and spoken by the LORD GOD HIMSELF way back in Genesis 3:15 where HE told the serpent that the SEED of the woman would crush satan’s head. That was JESUS CHRIST That GOD ALMIGHTY was speaking of. God did bring forth HIS plan. Christ was born in Bethelehem and through that one spectacular miracle of GOD’S coming to earth in the flesh, He made a way for us to have Christ born in our hearts, the CHRISTMAS of CHRISTMASES for each believer that receives Christ into their hearts.
Throughout the movie I was flooded with tenderness toward Christ and it made me more and more aware of HIS great love for us and made me love HIM even more. Between the Nativity and the Passion, Christ’s unending love for us is displayed. He made the ULTIMATE sacrifice and we receive the most glorious of rewards~~~ to be with Him in Heaven, forever.

      1. A secular movie guru critiqued THE NATIVITY and rated it well. She pointed out that the portrayal of Joseph was excellent and gave an insight into Joseph’s virtues, fine character, diligence and compassion in the most difficult of situations, both emotionally and in the physical struggles they went through to make their way to BETHELEM and later, the flight into EGYPT. I found this to be true as I viewed the film. It reminded me of MY JOSEPH in the Manger Scene in my yard, who suffered wind damage and loss of light. However, Joseph, true to form, is back again with the Light shining through him . He had been “defused”. But I now re-fused him and he is shining again, a light in the night, watching over BABY JESUS>

  3. I t was to me very deep…and now I find it hard to even put into words what my eyes and heart saw..I heard Mary say to a shepard..He is for all, and we each have been given a gift”……..Mary too was given the same gift and she accepted that gift that made a way for all to have recieve and share that gift…..this movie makes one see and think about just what it really cost when one recieves Christ …it isnt easy at all…The Nativity Story shows when Jesus comes to live inside of you just what really goes on…”The herods” , “the doubters” “the you name its” rise up and “the theres no room heres” rise too, all inside you when Jesus inters in…but he who is faithful and endures….Its a movie that will make you think..it also causes you to think just what are you doing with that gift of Christ in you…dj

  4. My family and I had the opportunity of seeing this movie last night. We all wholeheardedly agreed that it was much better than the reviews we had seen or heard about. I don’t think we will ever look at The Nativity in our yards and homes again without much thought and appreciation for God coming to earth in the flesh. Christmas ignited in our hearts and minds all over again for the love of Jesus.

I must say after having been in many Nativity Stories myself as a child in our church I never ever got a full screen view of what it really must have been like to the family of Mary, as well as Mary, Joseph and their village.

I give thanks to all that made this movie possible. I again encourage all to place “The Nativity Story ” in our yards with bright lights and help to lead many others to The Light of their night. I pray Holy God that as we celebrate this Holy Night and Your Life that many will see and hear and respond to the call of The Star that is shining so bright in our hearts, minds and beings. Let Your Glory shine throughout the world in the dark of the night and let their be Peace, Joy and Love on Earth.

I would recommend this movie to any and all.
