Study with Sara – HOLDING HANDS and walking in stride

“I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.” Isaiah 49:15-16 (NASB)

Have you taken your walk with God today? Did you hold His hands? Did He hold your hands? Did He speak with you? Did you speak with Him?
Did He say to you, “I will never ever forget you? Did you look and see your picture tattooed in the palm of His Hands?

God says to us in many ways and many times a day, “always in my mind is a picture of you and your circumstances.” What are we whispering back to Our Lord at times like these?

Sometimes when I take the time, like I should, which is on a continuous basis, I delight in God and I know He delights in me. I spend time speaking to Him and singing praises to His Name for all His accomplishments, or that is, as many as I can think of at the moment. And, with such joy and amazement to me He recognizes me and praises my accomplishments and milestones and we celebrate the good things in life together.

I love how He is a friend to me. He seems to always enjoy being with my eclectic mix of friends, both old and new. It is always with such pleasure that I introduce Him to my new friends and He invites me to fellowship with many of “His family of friends.” When I invite Him to join in with my friends whether praying, school, eating or shopping, baseball or football game or just a coffee, He always brings me and my other guest a gift of lightheartedness. Yes, Jesus, my good friend, is such a wonderful guest to bring to a gathering. He even brings His high powered digital camera to make new snapshots of us for new tattoos on His palms.

Many days I look out my window and again new flowers have just arrived by the mercy of His Hands. I stopped by a good friend’s house and a little cucumber has just appeared on her small garden vine which He thought of and then gave her the idea, that is, with the help from other friends. Our friend, Jesus ,is always appearing in such simple settings and always patting us on the back and saying, a job well done.

Sometimes I complaint, wimp and cry. But, He helps me to get up and go again. My friend, Jesus, always finds a little treasure to give me just when I need it. Just the other day He gave me the freeing gift of acceptance. And, yesterday He gave both another friend of mine and me the strengthening gift of trust. During my Birthday month, He sings His heart out to me through many good friends and showers me with gifts of love. Does He do that for you as well?

Sometimes I get angry and He shares a gift of tears with me so I can wash my spirit clean. Why it was only a day ago, I needed to, and I did, ask Him for forgiveness for neglect of many things and I was given a ring of grace to wear that sparkled to me like the sun.

I asked my friend, Jesus, for peace that only He can gave, for another friend of ours and He told me to whisper to her, Hold on, help is just in sight. I have heard it said many times and I know it’s true, “One of the best gifts you can give to a friend is to share your other friends.” Always when I share my best friend, Jesus, with others they and I get a new step in our feet and we run, with our shoes shining, in stride, to run the race we have set before us to meet our goals knowing He will be there to pat us on the back and smile a smile of acceptance. That’s it my friend, way to go! I also so appreciate how He gives me the grace and many ways to share all my friends, both old and new with one another. It is no secret what God can do when old and new friends gather together in His Holy Name.

Dear God, help me daily to expand our ‘circle of friends’ by bringing a guest that you and my others friends might not know. I sure want all my family and friends to know you and know you well!

“I will not forget you. (and them). Behold, I have (all your friends) inscribed on the palms of My hands.”

Have you taken your walk with God today? Did you hold His hands? Did He hold your hands? Did He speak with you? Did you speak with Him?

Did He say to you, “I will never ever forget you? Did you look and see your picture tattooed in the palm of His Hands? Do you see it now, even right now?

  1. Have I taken my walk with God today? yes…Did I hold His hands? yes…Did I look and see my picture tattooed in the palm of His Hands?…I didnt stop to even think of looking then…but now since you asked ….yes …I see a picture of me in Christ Jesus tattooed in the palm of Gods hands….Jesus sticks closer than a brother…He will never leave nor forsake….now thats some kind of friend to share…and share we must…if we truly love …then we will…dj

  2. I got out of bed this morning and started singing a verse of ‘Precious Lord take my Hand’ (by Thomas A. Dorsey):
    ‘Precious Lord, take my hand,
    Lead me on, let me stand,
    I am tired, I am weak, I am worn;
    Through the storm, through the night,
    Lead me on to the light:’….

    It was song that doesn’t normally come to my mind in the morning, in fact of think to sing of it sometimes late after a long and trying day. Later in the morning, after walking with Him and praying I read Sara’s blog. And it wasn’t until later in the day as I sat at my computer re-reading it did the Lord bring the remembrance about that first thing morning song back to my mind. I think He was already trying to talk with me about holding His hands and walking in stride. He spoke but did I speak back? No, I didn’t stop to take time to even realize He was talking to meand to respond. I figured we would talk when I got to my appointed walk/talk/prayer time. How sad. I see I need to learn to walk in stride at His pace, not mine, at His appointed time, not mine. You can’t hold hands with someone unless you are physically near them, side by side. Sara, thank you for writing this inspirational blog this morning. I have much to learn and grow from it.

  3. How lovely a blog and as Debi says, inspirational. I awoke singing this song in my heart that I had written awhile back which The Lord had given me; which verses say:
    “Cause me to hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning
    For in Thee do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein that I should follow, for I lift up my soul unto Thee.
    Yea, hast Thou loved me with an everlasting love; and with lovingkindness hast Thou drawn me to Thee. Cause me to know the way wherein that I should follow for I lift up my soul unto Thee.

    Another time He gave me the song
    “MORNING BY MORNING”…where it says, “And He comes and tells me HE is Mine, and He comes and whispers words divine. And He’s healing my spirit and my mind, Morning by morning by morning by morning by morn.”

    He really does want us to acknowledge Him upon awakening. Oh that touches my heart so.

    David said it in a Psalm, “who is man that THOU art mindful of him?” It’s true. Lovers of God have always been in awe that an ALMIGHTY CREATIVE FATHER GOD could possibly be interested in us, or my friends and I having a cup of coffee or preparing a meal, or taking a walk. For just a little ‘walk’ with Jesus makes it fine.

    I can only praise and thank Him for loving me and caring about me and all that I do.

  4. Luke 12:6-7 ” What is the price of sparrows-two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. 7 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a flock of sparrows.” God not only has our named tattooed on his palm, he also knows how many hairs each of us have on the top of our heads. He knows me better than I do. I have no clue how many hairs I have on the top of my head. Thank you Jesus for not forgetting me and knowing and loving me so much that you know how many hairs I have on my head. I will take you with me always and I pray that people see your love in me. I will follow you where you lead me. Jesus is tattooed in my heart. Thank you Jesus for loving me and being my best friend!!!

  5. This makes me think of the song:

    He’s got the whole world
    in His hands.
    He’s got the whole wide world
    in His hands.
    He’s got the whole world
    in His hands.
    He’s got the whole world
    in His hands.

  6. What a lovely blog. I thank the Lord that I’m imprinted in the palm of His hand and that he will never leave or forsake me. I love walking and talking with Jesus. I love looking at the birds who he tends to , the precious flowers of every hue, and the lush landscapes. I love the hue of friends He has surrounded me with both young and old. I love to sing and dance around my house just praising the Lord. I feel He is in the dance and in the song. I love each day when I go and come to see how he has sprinkled my day with miracles. Lord you are so beautiful to care for me and us. Thank you for holding me in the palm of your hand and never leaving me.
    You are so beautiful to send friends our way who cause us to grow in you. Lord on this day I would like to thank you for sending one such special friend, Sara, who’s birthday we celebrate. Lord thank you for carrying her in the palm of your hand, and may she flourish, and may her name be known in your courts as one who LOVES JESUS. Lord give her even more friends to care for as she cares for others as Jesus does. Lord we celebrate her life as she has thrown your light into our lives.

    A song that this wonder blog reminds me of is:

    By Anna B. Warner – Stanza 1
    Stanza 2 and 3 – David Rutherfore McGuire

    Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak, but He is strong.
    Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.
    Jesus loves me! This I know,
As He loved so long ago,
Taking children on His knee,
Saying, “Let them come to Me.”
    Jesus loves me still today,
Walking with me on my way,
Wanting as a friend to give
Light and love to all who live.
    Jesus loves me! He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.
    Jesus loves me! He will stay
Close beside me all the way;
Thou hast bled and died for me,
I will henceforth live for Thee.

    Another song that comes to mind is:

    “Thy Name is as ointment poured forth.” Song of Solomon 1:3
    by Lela B. Long, before 1925

    There have been names that I have loved to hear,
 But never has there been a name so dear
 To this heart of mine, as the Name divine,
 The precious, precious Name of Jesus.
    Jesus is the sweetest name I know,
 And He’s just the same as His lovely Name,
 And that’s the reason why I love Him so;
 Oh, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.
    There is no name in earth or Heav’n above,
 That we should give such honor and such love
 As the blessèd Name, let us all acclaim,
 That wondrous, glorious Name of Jesus.
    And some day I shall see Him face to face
To thank and praise Him for His wondrous grace,
Which He gave to me, when He made me free,
The blessèd Son of God called Jesus.

  7. We celebrate our webmaster’s birthday, today. Sara’s dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ, from birth to the present moment, speaks an ocean of her devotion and the teachings that emanate through her from the inspiration of the HOLY SPIRIT, are revelatory and relevant, timely and expedient. Wisdom is her constant companion and Proverbs 9:7 says, paraphrased, that when Wisdom instructs a ‘wise man’, he will love you for it. Sara’s teachings bring wisdom to those who are yearning to receive wisdom and her instructions are like the taste honey to the wise, sweetening rebuke or admonishment.
    Happy, blessed birthday to a friend of wisdom, a lover of truth and good Friend of Jesus Christ.

  8. Many thanks to all that have been a part of a month long celebration for my Birthday. How can one not love their Birthday even with age creeping in with all this celebration!!!!
