Wedding of Laura and Pat

My family and I attended the wedding of Pat and Laura on Saturday, October 18, ’08. Patrick is my Mother, Ada Patrick’s, grandson just as she is grandmother of my two sons and other sons and daughters. When Patrick walked out and stood on the platform I was standing on the balcony just above him and facing him and the ocean. I could see the ocean through windows and doors. I looked out the screen door to the ocean and I saw my Mother with a cloud of heavenly witnesses that I knew were related to Patrick and Laura joining us from the balcony of heaven. I had an epiphany moment! I was overwhelmed with joy. As the bride, Laura, approached the altar I felt the saints move closer. Then the minister opened with the scripture from Hebrews 12:1 “…we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses.”

Look and listen to a portion of this ceremony video captured by my daughter-in-law, Tammy, of the minister confirming to this lovely couple the blessings of knowing those that have gone before us were looking upon them with grace, mercy and love to support them in this union. I had whispered to my son, Jonathan, just before the minister spoke that I saw their Grandmother with the cloud of witnesses joining us. What a blessing to all!

Our Blessings of Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) to Laura and Pat….” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  1. What a beautiful setting for this wedding. What an honor for the couple to have their union attended by Patrick’s grandmother Ada, from the heavenly banisters along with other saints of glory.
May I commend this young bride and groom on their courage and fortitude to marry with great commitment and dedication to one another.
Best wishes and blessings of the Lord. I am sure the “cloud of witnesses” applauded with great joy at that godly phrase…”I now pronounce you husband and wife”

  2. Thanks to Sara for sharing their wonderful “wedding” experience and to Tammy for taping it so that we can all share in the joy of the sacrament of marriage.

  3. What an awesome confirmation by the minister to the prophetic sight of Sara. And how real that makes Hebrews 12:1 to all of us. It is a great blessing that Tammy got it for all of us to be inspired by and Sara is sharing with us on The Daily Lily.
My sincere congratulations to Patrick and Laura and may God bless you both all the days of your lives.

  4. And, thanks to Christopher for making this video available to us and his work on this site to give us a platform to teach, share and show love to all!

  5. Congratulation to Patrick and Laura on their wedding. Thanks for sharing that the Cloud of Witnesses participated with JOY and celebration even as those on earth did. The veil between heaven and earth surely is thin and what is proclaimed on earth is proclaimed in heaven. May the wine of the heavenly bless the couple forever.

  6. What a beautiful wedding. To see the cloud of witnesses is so awesome. Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” “Footnotes of NLT : We do not struggle alone, and we are not the first to struggle with the problems we face. Others have run the race and won, and their witness stirs us to run and win also. What an inspiring hertitage we have!” This is an awesome scripture. Just knowing the witnesses are watching over us and cheering us on to win the race. Awesome! Thank you Tammy and Christopher for the video. Thank you Sara for the inspiration. Many Blessings to Patrick and Laura as they start their race together.

  7. Thanks to all! Hebrews 12:1 footnotes as Chickenfarmer has listed gives us great hope daily in all of life’s struggles in our personal lives as well as the struggles we see and hear daily.

Chickenfarmer, what do you think the (weight) sin is that so easily trips us up? Would some of the weight be not having self-control, patience, love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, ie all nine slices of the fruit of the Spirit?

  8. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video of Patrick and Laura’s wedding. May God Bless them and guide them in their marriage.
