  1. Bible footnotes on this verse as well as Psalm 33…
[Psalm 33] A hymn in which the just are invited (Psalm 33:1-3) to praise God, who by a mere word (Psalm 33:4-5) created the three-tiered universe of the heavens, the cosmic waters, and the earth (Psalm 33:6-9). Human words, in contrast, effect nothing (Psalm 33:10-11). The greatness of human beings consists in God’s choosing them as a special people and their faithful response (Psalm 33:12-22).

Read verses 23 and decide whether you want to embrace or not!

  2. In Psalms 23 it tells us that we need a Good Shepherd, Jesus, who laid down His life for us to pay for our sins so we could have a place in heaven. We in ourselves have nothing to give – we are sheep with no defenses, we aren’t smart, and don’t have a good sense of direction. Knowing this about ourselves we thank God that He embraces us and takes care of us in all things. Embrace we better or we’ll be somewhere where we don’t want to be – body, soul, or mind.

  3. From the quote I see that God sees all of us, like being under a survelliance camera, to see what we will do with what he has given us. But then, the camera of His eye focuses in on those who fear, trust and hope in Him to become a protective watcher and caretaker. Wallace, I read vs 23 and decided to embrace the only One Whose love never fails.

  4. The Lord says, ” I set before you THIS DAY… Life and death…” Jesus is the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE!. He’s given us the answer to the riddle of existence. Life or Death. Embrace Life. CHOOSE LIFE!

  5. In Hebrews 4:13 it says:
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. This is scary.

  6. ” The Lord looks down from heaven and sees the whole human race. From his throne he observes all who live on the earth.” and I’d like to add verse 15……….. “He made their hearts, so he understands everything they do.”

Wallace, aren’t we glad verse 15 is there?

  7. Yes Wallace, The Eyes of the Lord go to & fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.”
So I believe since we are “on the earth” He’s checking us out to make sure we do not do “foolishly” because ,He says, then we will have wars.

  8. This verse tells me that the Lord above, sees and knows everything we do. Job 34:21 “For God watches how people live; he sees everything we do.” The Lord has his eyes on us constantly, just as a parent has their eyes on their toddler. We are the Lord’s children. If we choose not to be part of God’s family, Satan is there ready to adopt us into his torturous family. Psalms 1:6 ” For the Lord watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.” Psalms 121:5 “The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.” These verses tell me that the Lord is watching us all the time and protecting his children. So we better watch out ! We better not cry! We better not pout, I’m telling you why…………. 1 Peter 3:12 “The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. BUT THE LORD TURNS HIS FACE AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.”…….. So be good for goodness sake…..

  9. Goodness, Chickenfarmer…are you saying…. HE’S making a list and checking it twice, gonna find out who’s naughty or nice? Jesus Christ is coming to earth! HE sees you when you’re sleeping, He knows when you’re awake. He knows if you’ve been bad or good….so….do what Chickenfarmer says….BE GOOD, GENTLE, KIND, JOYFUL, FAITHFUL, LOVING, PEACEFUL and SELF-CONTROLLED….for GOODNESS SAKE. There’re no rules against those things.

  10. In another confirmation that God sees us and all we do…In the book of AMOS 9:8-9, it reads, v. 8a, “Behold! The eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom…” v. 9, ” For I will command and sift the house of Israel among the nations as in a sieve. Yet, NOT A SINGLE KERNEL WILL FALL UPON THE EARTH AND BE LOST FROM MY SIGHT.”
But we take heart at these severe words to Israel, for it was in God’s plan even though He dealt with ancient, sinful Israel in a strict way, yet it was the preparation of restoration for the whole earth, (that’s us, too). For He would send Jesus Christ His only Son to the earth. And it says in verse 13, “Behold, the days are coming that the plowman shall overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes will overtake him who sows the seed. The mountains shall drop sweet wine and every barren place shall overflow with SPIRITUAL BLESSING.
DO Watch over us, Gentle Shepherd. Amen!

  11. Great swelling words of encouragement to know that we have a Father with power that can do all things on our behalf and He has our destiny under control when we stay in His pattern of life.

But, I do have a question, Chickenfarmer? If I chose not to be part of The Family of God, ‘then Satan will be there ready to adopt me’. Now whose family would I belong to while waiting to decide if I want to be in the family of God? And, if I don’t, do I have to wait for adoption papers or am I just in Satan’s family?

  12. Sara,
God has signed our adoption papers with the blood of His precious Son, Jesus Christ. There is no waiting time. We are either in God’s family or we are in Satan”s family. There is no in between. God has sacrificed so much for us and He loves us so much. We own everything to our Father. He’s been so good to us. I really don’t understand why we would have a hard time deciding which family to be in although I know some do. They are afraid they will have to give up “SELF” for God. With Satan, he wants us just to focus on “SELF”. Focusing on self will led to “self destruction”. Focusing on self can led to disappointment and depression. Although eternity would be a miserable place if we were in Satan’s family. God will only wait for so long then He will let us stay with Satan. We do not need to question God or tempt Him in any way. He is our true Father and He wants the best for us. He loves us.
Romans 8:14-15 “14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. 15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he ADOPTED you as his own children. Now we call him, ABBA, FATHER.”
Gal. 4 :5-7 “God sent Him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that He could adopt us as His very own children. 6And because we are His children, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, ABBA, FATHER.” 7Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir.” These scriptures tell us we are slaves without God. So either we are in God’s family or we are in Satan’s family. (Kind of like being pregnant – you are or you aren’t) There’s is no in between. There is no waiting list. We are God’s children or we are Satan’s children. No in between.

  13. Chickenfarmer, I don’t see any grey area here either. Looks like Jesus says we each have a father that we love.
“Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” (John 8:42-47)

  14. WHEE Chickenfarmer and Debi! This will wake you up on Monday morning even if the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins last night.

“The Lord looks down from Heaven and sees the whole human race. From His throne He observes all who live on the Earth.”

I guess from reading this blog God knows His family and the ones that chose not to be His family since He sees the whole human race.

  15. 2 Timothy 2:19 (NCV) ” But God’s strong foundation continues to stand. These words are written on the seal: “The Lord knows those who belong to him,” and “Everyone who wants to belong to the Lord must stop doing wrong.”
