What is your news today?

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19 NLT

“Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.” Mark 16:16

How busy have you been with this assignment? Did you do your daily homework? Or, are you waiting until you get more time? Time? More of it?

vs. 14 of Mark 16 says, “…Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.”

Time, after you Eat? Party? Talk, Work? Catch up on your news? By the way, what is your news? What news did you hear last night? Did you read? Did you give? How many repented and turned to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, from your news?

  1. I had an appointment with God yesterday. I attended a social event after much thought and prayer and dialogue with a Christian friend. I believed she put thought and prayer in my appointment as well. Thanks to her for her faithfulness as friend.

    I went with great anticipation. I knew God would be with me there. His Word as quoted above says, “I, Jesus, will be with you….when you teach new disciples…”

    As I moved around talking I was approached in the hearing of all and told that a joyful message had been sent to me. Whoa, I thought, this just cannot be. But, the message was delivered. The message was, tell her, “I visited ‘The Temple Mount’ and I walked where Jesus walked today.” My eyes burst with tears and my appt. was moisten with rain from the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:17 says, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.” Yes “It’s beginning to rain hear the voice of our Father, Saying “Who-so-ever will, come drink of my water;…” words of song by Gloria Gaither

  2. The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

    ~~~~~~~Exodus 15:2 NIV~~~~~~~
  3. Your news Sara is such a good example of obedience to the scriptures above and the results. It reminds me of the verse in Isaiah 52:7 NLT “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!”
  4. The saying, ‘no news is good news’ is really debunked in Bible Realm. Every morning I have to ask the Holy Spirit in my prayers for that day, to place me in the right position, to encounter someone who He knows is ready to hear the GOOD NEWS that JESUS CHRIST died on the CROSS for him/her, personally, and the reason for His death and resurrection. And the most important part of that is being able to recognize that opportunity. Many times I have missed it because I didn’t discern it even after i had asked the Holy Spirit to put ones in my path to whom I could give the GOOD NEWS and share the message. But it slipped right through my fingers.
    Then: 1) To pray earnestly and To ask the Holy Spirit 2)to Watch for the opportunity 3) to discern it properly when HE sends someone 4) to open my mouth and speak the Word of God to that person(s) 5) Allow the Holy Spirit to work through me.
  5. I think I should start praying for the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts of those I meet to be open to the good news that I have for them.
  6. Yes, that is why We have to ask Him to send those who He knows are ready to receive…and that we would express it in the manner that would speak to them in their situation. Some, we have to tell of the love of God in Christ Jesus and how He died for them to set them free. Others who may need a jolt…. we may have to say…. like, do you want to go to Heaven or go to hell?? Sort of what the scriptures say as “snatch from the fire.”
  7. I agree with Sara. Lord prepare those who I am to speak today to hear about you. You have filled my life with you. My cup is full. May you tip me over into someone’s life and then my cup will be full again with the excitement of the person receiving what the HOLY SPIRIT wants that person to receive. If it is of God it will be the very thing that they had been hoping for that day. Step by step they will be led to Jesus.
    “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3: 16-18 NIV
  9. Here is more Good News. Sara challenged me to recall the WHOLE Word of God that is embedded in the famous quote that we all know…Jesus said,” i will never leave you nor forsake you”. What does the whole scripture say? she asked.
    Hebrews 13:5
    “Let your character and moral disposition be free from greed, avarice, lust and craving for earthly possessions and be satisfied with your present circumstances and with what you have. For God Himself said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not….in any way leave you helpless nor forsake you . Assuredly not!
  10. Our message is called “The Good News.” How exciting that we are messengers of The Good News. Whoa, it should shock up out of bed in early am and poke us often during our day and make our evening glow with candlelight.
    “THE DAILY LILY.COM—-OBSERVER” has the best news around. It gives hope to the weary, love to all and peace like the stillness of water. Let the writers come forth with the news that will travel at the speed of light. Maybe we should get off our schedule and do as good news reporters do report news as it comes. Whoa, what a job!
  11. Even to the end of the age, or this era or even it could be to the END of our PERSONAL AGE. That’s a truly comforting promise.
  12. And speaking of His love and care for us, I John 4:9,10 NLT says: “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”
  13. “vs. 14 of Mark 16 says, “…Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.”
    Remind myself of what I just read! The Eleven were busy eating…they had lack of faith and stubbornness that showed by refusing to believe what others had told them about the risen Jesus. They were rebuked by Jesus right while they were eating. I think some of us would have used the excuse, “not the right time, buddy, to rebuke me.”
    ” Vs. 9) When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
    vs. 12) Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.”
    I think way too often I am sitting at the table of Eleven!
  14. Mark 16:15 Then He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
    19) After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”
    I think most of us would like the latter part, don’t you?
  15. Mark1:1-11 This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God. It began just as the prophet Isaiah had written:
    “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way. He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!” This messenger was John the Baptist. He was in the wilderness and preached that people should be baptized to show that they had repented of their sins and turned to God to be forgiven. All Judea, including all the people of Jerusalem, went out to see and hear John. And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River. His clothes were woven from coarse camel hair, and he wore a leather belt around his waist. For food he ate locusts and wild honey. John announced : “someone is coming soon who is greater than I am-so much greater that I am not worthy to stoop down like a slave and untie the straps of his sandles. I baptize you with water, but he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit!” One day Jesuscame from Nazarethin Galilee, and John baptized him in the Jordan River. As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring great joy.”
    Jesus is still bringing great joy. Jesus loves us and His return is near. If He came for His church tonight would we be ready? The time is near! ARE YOU READY??
