My Morning Thoughts;

Dear God, I want to, and I desire your help in guiding me to translate Light into words–to make Your Glory tangible to our finite senses that comes from Your infinite senses. I speak as the psalmist sings; “Beautiful words stir my heart and I will recite a lovely poem about the King for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.” Psalm 45:1

As Paul said, I want to focus on my goal. “I am not already as God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal, but I continue trying to reach it and to make it mine. Christ wants me to do that, which is the reason he made me his… I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above.” Philippines 3:13…

Today, I continue to focus on moving forward with my goal tattooed in the palm of Your hand. I place my trust in you, O Lord, having confidence, that You have me in the right place at the right time. I believe that You are working all things together for my good. I see new doors of opportunity opening. I choose Faith and wait with Hope, that I will inherit the promises giving in Your Word for me.

I embrace the good things You have in store for me and for those that I make mention of in my prayers to YOU!

I see my prayers for myself and others as having an “Invisible Tongue” but yet reaches “Your Throne.”

Thank You, O My God, for hearing me in “My Morning Thoughts;”

  1. “Today, I continue to focus on moving forward with my goal tattooed in the palm of Your hand. I place my trust in you, O Lord, having confidence, that You have me in the right place at the right time. I believe that You are working all things together for my good.”
I can’t help but share the following verse and footnotes, after reading this. Read with me.

Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Footnotes: “We’re all encouraged by a leader who stirs us to move ahead, someone who believes we can do the task he has given and who will be with us all the way. God is that kind of leader. He knows the future, and his plans for us are good and full of hope. As long as God, who knows the future, provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.”
Now that should spur us on, don’t ya think??

  2. Yes I sure did for two reasons. One reason to use spurs was in order to apply steady pressure on a horse in order to keep a consistent forward motion going while keeping a snug hold on the reins. This encourages flexibililty and fluidity in a horses gait and performance.
The other reason was to give a sharp poke in a horse’s side to wake him up and get his attention and ‘say’ get going!!

  3. “…to make Your Glory tangible to our finite senses that comes from Your infinite senses.”
Reading your prayer communication words that relate to our senses such as ‘moving forward’ (motion); ‘tattooed in the palm’ (feel); ‘I see’ (vision); ‘I embrace’ (touch); ‘reaches’ (exert); ‘hearing me’ (sound); ‘Invisible Tongue’ (taste)…makes understanding His Glory more real to me because these words put a practical reality face on faith.

  4. Interesting Debi! Sounds like we are translating Light into Words..John says,.”He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.” John 1:8

  5. And to be a witness is to be one who “sees”; for that is what a witness is. One who sees ‘something’ physically in the temporal world and especially one who “sees” (witnesses) in the spirit, the Light, understands the Light and trumpets to others about the Light. “He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him (his witness of the Light) all men might believe.”
It gives me pause; If we see a great bargain, witness an amazing event, have a wonderful experience, we want to tell it. We might even strike up a conversation with a stranger in line in a market, coffee shop, fast food store. We want to tell something amazing that we have just seen or done. We want to share it.
Well, On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross where Jesus Christ died for sinners which means that YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO TO HELL IF YOU DON’T WANT TO.
Now that IS good news, glad tidings, good tidings, as Sara said Sunday. Why not spread the Light.

This is very hard, or maybe impossible when sin is my best friend! What do you think?

  7. Gee, Sara, your supposed best “friend…sin” is a back stabber. And all things are possible with GOD. “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” (__Mark 9:23)

  8. MG, what are you calling this friend a name? WHOA! Back Stabber! What an awful friend? I sure have a few of those floating around….

  9. I agree that this is very hard or impossible when sin is my best friend. Romans 8:28 says: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” To me this says He works things for my good if I love Him and make His purposes for me my purpose. How can I say I love Him and knowingly make sin my friend rather than obedience to the Lord? Sin crouches at the door waiting for an opportunity to be best friends. When I open the door, I believe I can count on trouble and consequences. And even if I repent, those consequences have been set in motion. if I don’t keep my part of the agreement, how can the Lord keep His? Having sin as a frined causes things to begin to spin out of control not work for good.

  10. i think sin in all its gaudy trappings beckons to our fleshly minds, egos and ids and sort of says, don’t makes waves, don’t fight the status quo. Just go with the flow. Don’t confront.
Oh, and Paul had a few names vivid names for what he called “friend sin”.: immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, gossip, divisiveness, back biting, etc. etc. etc. (Gal. 5:19)

  11. “Beautiful words stir my heart and I will recite a lovely poem about the King for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.” Psalm 45:1

Did you ever sing the hymn “Wonderful Words of Life”? Oh, yes, beautiful words, wonderful words of life! Let’s sing it over and over again today and make our day our words!

  12. I have some beautiful words for today….”This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Thank you, Lord, for this glorious, beautiful, Fall day!

  13. A lovely Word from Psalm 86:11. “Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an UNDIVIDED HEART, that I may fear your name.” My friend at school brought that psalm to our prayer session this morning and I knew God was confirming our lessons of yesterday’s service.
Sara taught about integrity, yesterday, that is, being a WHOLE person. This Psalm reminds me that I want and Need an undivided, a whole, truly
    non-compartmentalized heart.

  14. Words are beautiful when they accomplish God’s purposes. I think John 1:1 lets us know abbout a beautiful Word who “became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. ” Just to think that Jesus was the Word before He became human…sent to us to fulfill God’s purpose.

  15. How beautiful is this “Word”? “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” In an overwrought, distraught and distressed world, where financial pressures, anxieties, and social demands threaten the human status and integrity, these Words of Jesus Christ ring out pure and clear and “homecoming” to the weary ones of planet earth, for those who would turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and put their faith and confidence in Him and His ability to comfort, relieve and deliver from the evil that surrounds us.

  16. “I see my prayers for myself and others as having an “Invisible Tongue” but yet reaches “Your Throne.”

  17. I pray to dedicate my tongue and lips and mouth to the edification of the Lord Jesus Christ as led by the Spirit of God. Sometimes that doesn’t happen. Instead I “utilize” that tiny weapon in a way that pleases not the Father nor the Son nor the Spirit. But still, It is my desire and prayer to use that tool that James describes so aptly, to pray for others, as Sara says above, and to speak edifying WORDS of encouragement and praise to those I encounter in my daily walk. That the Words that I use will be made ‘flesh’ to others so that they encounter the WORD, Jesus Christ.

  18. I heard recently about this bible teacher; From her bio: “Aliene’s ministry took a major turn during writing of Radically Obedient when a woman who had attended the Galatians study left a message on her phone. “I am in the hospital and I need your help.” This woman had been experiencing so much emotional pain that she had attempted suicide. She now asked Aliene to come to the hospital and teach her God’s Word.

After leaving the hospital that first day Aliene cried out to God, “Why did this happen? Why didn’t she feel like she could be real and share the pain she was experiencing?”

God spoke this to her heart, “Well, Aliene, you are not being real. You tell women about your “acceptable” struggles like gossip and complaining, but not the mountains I have moved in your life. How can you expect other women to share their deepest needs? You have a story of redemption to share. Quit dressing yourself up and quit dressing me up. I want you to reveal me in all my glory and all my truth and teach women to depend on only me because I am the answer for every need they have!” To find out more about Aliene and her Bible Studies visit her:
