You are a new song
You are the one who Jesus Christ set free
You have new song to sing to the nations
So sing with all your might
Reach out and give from your hand and heart
Of the new LOVE He’s given you
Reach out and point the way to HIM
Reach out and walk the path of Truth
Reach out and walk praising HIM day and night
You are a new song, Stand and sing!
Praise HIM morning, noon, and night
He’ll soon come to gather those with the NEW SONG
TO HIM ON HIGH!!!!!!!!!
‘Giving thanks’ can be one of the ‘good things’ that we can allow the Lord to fill our mouths with as we open it. Songs of thanksgiving can color our day with with joy and focus our perspective. In Sarah Young’s devotional, “Jesus Calling” today, March 25, she writes: “Let thankfulness temper all your thoughts. A thankful mind-set keeps you in touch with Me. I hate it when My children grumble, casually despising My sovereignty. Thankfulness is a safegaurd against this deadly sin. Furthermore, a grateful attitude becomes a grid through which you perceive life…cultivate a thankful heart for this glorifies Me and fills you with joy.”
This also reminds me of the scripture – Matthew 6: 26-27 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? Matthew 6: 34“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Looking on the beautiful bird and the scripture I know this day I need to focus on God and give all areas of my life to HIM who can take care of everything and be not anxious or worried about today or tomorrow. Take the steps He’s given me to do for this day and He’ll take care of my tomorrows. No dirge song, but a song of thanksgiving for what He’s going to do this DAY!
“Do not revile the king even in your thoughts, or curse the rich in your bedroom, because a bird of the air may carry your words, and a bird on the wing may report what you say.” Ecc. 10:20 NIV
Luke 12:3 “What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.”
1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples. Psalm 96
“And when Jesus was baptized He went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a ‘DOVE’ and alighting upon Him.”__Matt 3:16
“You have seen…….. how I bore you on EAGLES’ wings and brought you to Myself.” ___Exodus 19:4
The Scriptures use birds of the air, (and even on the ground)—–remember how Jesus warned Peter that he would deny Him before the rooster crowed….. to impart the revolutionary teachings of the Lord God Almighty.
In Exodus He used quail to test the Israelites and the dove,(again) in the New Testament as seen above… and in the Old Testament when Noah sent the dove out to find dry land and she came back with an olive branch which forever instituted the sign of the ‘DOVE of PEACE.’
My thought on seeing the beautiful bird of vibrant colors is that when our will, plans and purposes are truly one with the heart of Christ, we will sing a new song with our lives.”
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Cor 5:17
That song will be vibrant and life giving to others.
Love all our thoughts. When Christ came as a lamb sacrifice via The Cross for all and we believed it sure gave us a new song to sing.
I also love the color symbolism of the color of our bird. Yellow is wisdom and blue is heavenly. Just think we have heavenly wisdom. What a beautiful theme song for God’s children.
Not only are we encouraged by the psalmist to “sing unto the Lord a new song” but the Lord sets the example when He writes in His Book, “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”__Zephaniah 3:17
In Ps. 42:8,”By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me…”
The Lord God Who gives the birds their song is a Singer of songs Himself. Would you not so desire to hear the lilting, Lover voice of the Lord Jesus Christ? Listen to the birds’ glorious songs of liberty and freedom! God’s like that!
It sounds like you are correct from reading some different translations. Apparently, He is addressing this to those filled with fear and despair and has to calm them down and renew them.
“Your God is present among you, a strong Warrior there to save you.Happy to have you back, he’ll calm you with his love.”
“…renews you with his love…”
“With his love, he will calm all your fears…”
This is so needful for our war torn nations and each life affected by such tragedy. Just to think and pray that God would do this now for the nations that are in war. Hope I will remember to pray and sing in harmony with our loving caring God for Hope!
Acts 16:25 “Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and SINGING hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.” (footnotes) “Paul and Silas were stripped, beaten, and placed in stocks in the inner cell. Stocks were made of two boards joined with iron clamps, leaving holes just big enough for the ankles. The prisoner’s legs were placed across the lower board, and then the upper board was closed over them. Sometimes both wrists and ankles were placed in stocks. Paul and Silas, who had committed no crime and who were peaceful men, were put in stocks designed for holding the most dangerous prisoners in absolute security. Despite this dismal situation, they praised God, praying and SINGING as the other prisoners listened. No matter what our circumstances, we should praise God. Others may come to Christ because of our example.”
“Others may come to Christ because of our example”… of singing and praising in difficult, very difficult circumstances. Reverse thinking and think if I didn’t or don’t praise Him in difficult circumstances I may be the cause of others not coming to Christ.????
Haven’t I read somewhere, ‘these are hard sayings.”

What a BEAUTIFUL bird in the above picture. Is it a canary?
