Beautiful words that are a ‘foolproof truth’ that shows love like no other. Hebrews 13:5 among others gives us this assurance; “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” I pause to give thanks for each of you wherever you may be. I pray God’s love for each cup of hot soup, turkey leg, milk for a child, bread for the soul, greeting card to a shut in and family with a member in war zone and far away from home. My prayers continue for the hugs given in a nursing home, hospital room, a scripture shared, a warm blanket for the homeless, a fireman or other community service that gives extra on this Thanksgiving day. Each place of business that offers jobs and service for others to benefit that a greeting and thank you will be joy to their heart. Awe, so much to appreciate and be thankful for. Don’t want to forget our TV and table huggers that share abundance of food and story. Our Jewish friends that celebrate, ‘Thanksgivingkah’! I love making prayers and thanks for each of you today as I just designed my centerpiece of beauty! Each one a special place in our Cornucopia of thanks. Happy Thanksgiving to All!
Such a lovely and meaningful cornucopia of words of prayer and thanks, Sara, that will last long after any flowers have faded. I would like to add my amen, thanks and a Happy Thanksgiving, also.
Sara, your words are a balm to a conflicted world, to a confused America, on this Thanksgiving Day, 2013. I have been hearing several different maxims today about what certain ones are thankful for. But what surprises me the most or maybe troubles me is not for what they are thankful, but to whom they are thankful. The politically correct address some unnamed deity, for fear of offending. Yet why are we not fearful of offending the One True God, the Lord God Almighty Who has given us all these things?
Thank You Father God, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit for Your bountiful graciousness to all who call upon Your name. Thank You for generosity, grace and forgiveness and thank You most of all for Jesus Christ the Lord of Glory Who died and arose for our sins. That is the global blessing that we should all be thankful for.
MG, thank you for your words of praise as we pray and praise together. I had a moment of chuckle from your comment, although a bit sad as well. A picture flashed in my mind of 25 degree windy night the brave standing in line to break rank if opportunity presents itself to spend money on things. Get $’s off! Spend hours in line reading ads and shuffling coupons and redeeming last years gift cards. But, not a single moment to thank the Almighty! Goody, goody for us no lines to the throne room and a storage warehouse bigger and better than Amazon but only the faithful few buying. BTW, if you know of anyone needing a special ointment for their eyes so they can see better share with them we know the perfect store to buy. Even love can be purchased there. The price is right for any budget. The displays are better than Tiffany’s. Global is our shopping mall!
Come Lord Jesus, we pray!
You are so right, Sara, about the purchasing power given to us by Almighty God. Because on His black Friday, the day He shed His blood for the atonement of our sins, He now gives us our shopping list for the coming feast day. In Revelation 3:18, Jesus says to all, “Therefore I counsel you to purchase from Me, gold refined and tested by fire and white clothes to clothe yourself in purity and splendor.”
And here’s that ointment you wrote about above, Sara.
“…….and salve to put on your eyes that you might see.” These are all free of charge for Jesus Christ has already paid for them . Hallelujah!!! Jesus Lord. Thank You, Father for Your unspeakable generosity. “Rock oh steady Rock, and faultless was Your work. You shed Your precious blood in the covenantal cutting.” (c)
And Sara, I loved the mental image I got when I read your words….”No line to the Throne Room” AMEN~~!!
Love your beautiful words of thanksgiving. I could almsot hear the Lord Jesus say them. We are so thankful to know the Lord Jesus. He has caringly touched each of us in so many ways throughout the years of our journey with Him. He has given us gifts to use in His service, creative ideas to use in His service, able bodies to serve others, voices to help in His service to give a kind word, direction, suggestion, word of encouragement. Oh how glad I am to have Jesus. As I was just texting a friend I was reminded that although it would be nice for Jesus to come soon, the best part is that we who know Him, He is with us every moment of the day. The real sadness is the people who do not know Him. They don’t know they have someone who LOVES them, cares for them, and has their best interest at heart. They really wont even get to assend with HIM when He does come.
How sorry they will be they never gave Him a chance. He is standing on the right side of God beckoning for YOU to come. I hope you will.
Rena, we are gifted blessed! How about those among us and so close to us that know Him but disobey Him? Think on this; “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. 13″You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.” Mark 13
Truth is in the scripture you quote Sara. Jesus says: “I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword” ( Matthew 10:34). A spirit sword to divide His sheep from the world – seems like a civil war on earth. In talking with my brother today he said a minister he listens to said that as Christians we seem to stumble all the way to heaven. Hopefully somehow Jesus will take His shepherd hook out and pull the waywarding one back whether it is us or someone we care dearly for. Seems the key is ENDURING to the END will be SAVED. God may we endure to the end!
