12 thoughts on “Guest at my front door

  1. Tammy, when I see your front door guest I am reminded symbolically by the Dove just how ever present the Holy Spirit is in my life. I so often, have to seek God for very specific answers to daily duties that seem to overwhelm me only to find the answers lies tucked inside the lines of my devotion for the day, a leaf blown at my feet, a bird chirping just outside my window. The Holy Spirit is my teacher and He is a great teacher with a poor student all to often with me. He gently flies in by a Dove to remind me He has wings and so do I.

Thanks for sharing your front door guest.

    1. Sara, too often I am that “poor student”, as well. I like to think of “the guest at my front door” as a “God wink”. My husband saw the dove at the front door and quietly called me over to see it. I couldn’t believe the dove just stood there, and then turned and laid down!

      1. How Awesome is Our God! He makes His ways known to all! He sends messengers, winks, buds, bulbs, seeds, leaves, fruit among the magic of many things! Yes, we sing praises to His Name!

  2. Tammy, what a timely reminder of the prophecy given to Joel for us in the Endtimes. He promises to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh….sons and daughters will prophesy and old men will dream dreams. God seems to have left none of His people out of the blessing….. before the TRUMP of GOD sounds.
And though we know that the Holy Spirit is NOT a bird, this beautiful sign, the dove, symbolic of the Holy Spirit of God is very exciting to see…especially at one’s doorstep.
Hmmm Sign of things to come!! It’s later than we think!!
Thanks for sharing these pics on thedailylily.com.

    1. “He promises to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh….” MG, this is encouragement, isn’t it? I pray ALL will be open and receive His Spirit.

  3. Tammy as I looked at your two lovely pictures of the dove it looks like he came and then settled down to stay. I went back through some scriptures to review some of the things He brings when He comes…teaching, conviction, truth, power, comfort, guidance, counsel, etc. Seems He is a gracious guest and does not arrive at the door empty handed.

    1. Debi, we have all had guests to come to our homes and possibly bring things, right? Seems from the list you have given above, this guest brings: “teaching, conviction, truth, power, comfort, guidance, counsel, etc.” , are awesome gifts for the “receiver”, wouldn’t you say?

      1. Yes, Tammy, I would agree with what you, noticing you said He brings them for the “receiver”, so it seems you are saying it’s a two-way transaction? And I would think also that the receiver should show appreciation.

  4. NIV: John 15:26
β€œWhen the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.”

The Counselor, being the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Truth comes knocking at your door He must have something vital to say. πŸ•ŠπŸ•ŠπŸ•ŠπŸ•ŠβœβœβœπŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ’ŸπŸ‘‘πŸ™πŸ»

  5. Jesus says that when HE the Comforter comes….He will speak of TRUTH and tell you things about Me. He won’t speak about Himself but show you all things in Jesus Christ.
Since we know [only in a small part ] the greatness of the Lord God Almighty…..Holy Spirit has been speaking to us about Jesus for 2000 years and there is still more to tell….which we will continue to learn in Eternity. Never ending revelation of a magnificent God. Holy Spirit, please continue to divulge to us the greatness of God and the world(s) to come. Amen.
