The caption read, “Even your eggs are happy when you start your day with prayer.” The picture showed a carton of eggs with happy, smiling faces. It caught my attention and made me realize how prayer changes us.”
“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.”
Psalm 145:18 (NRSV)
It seems worldwide the heat of politics is blazing hot and the reports of hurricanes, tornadoes among other natural disasters are overwhelming to both my thoughts and prayers. I often feel so overwhelmed that I don’t even have the energy to utter a prayer. It was so refreshing to see smiling eggs put a smile on my face and joy in my step that I paused to meditate and pray. So often eggs are a topic of conversation in both our dietary needs as well as symbolical in nature.
I imagine we all have an egg story and lots of tags to add on. How often have you heard, which comes first the chicken or the egg? 🥚🥚🥚
The dozen eggs sparked my thoughts and started a prayer storm within my inner being asking have I been calling on the Lord in TRUTH? (reference scripture above) If so, the Lord is very near to all the troubles that boggle my mind. Yes, I can balance an egg on a teaspoon. Paint a smiley face on an egg. Tell an Easter Story from an egg. Hide a egg to delight a child’s find. Let my imagination do the work and I may just find “a good old egg” smiling at me.
🍳 Try It!
My husband called from work to check in with me just moments after I posted this egg blog. I do what I often do read him the blog from our daily post to encourage him in his day. As I read the last tag line, “try it”…he responded. Don’t break any! What is the moral in his thought! “Don’t break any!” Another thought for me to ponder. 🥚🍳🥓🍳🥚🤗 I thought, obey the rules…..😱 So much joy in an egg story!
Love your egg picture, the story and the encouragement to pray, Sara!
When I looked at the eggs again this pm I thought about how effectively efficient they are…nothing wasteful about them. Their shells even provide fertilizer nutrients for plants and soil. I better start saving them for the garden.
Debi, you have symbolized the egg with prayer. Surely, there is nothing wasteful about our prayers. Eggs fertilize the soil. Prayer fertilizes the soul. Prayer changes the earth and fills the earth with God’s power from our prayers. ” In the Book of Revelation, the Bible describes golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints (Revelation 5:8). In other words, the prayers of God’s people collectively fill heavenly bowls with sweet aroma, much like the burnt offerings did in days of old. In Revelation 8, we discover what these bowls are used for:”
“Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden alter which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake” (Revelation 8:3-5).
Love the smile on the egg pictured above. I sure smiled this morning when my husband boiled me two eggs to eat, on my way to work this morning.😊 Wonder if God smiles when His children pray?
Good Morning, Tammy, I love the way your husband shows you love and makes you smile. 🍳😊I laughed out loud with joy and smiled thinking of your Chris making you eggs for your trek to work. I smiled thinking I’v been wanting a boiled egg for days😄😄I thought did she draw a smile on the egg with a thank you emoji? 🥚👏🏻❤️😄 Don’t tell me he peeled them too. 😮
I believe with great ❤️ God smiles when we please Him. David in the Psalms was always trying to find ways to please the Lord and to make sure that the Lord was pleased with him. Psalm 119:135 Msg., gives David’s prayer to us, “Smile on me, your servant; teach me the right way to live.”
Yes, I believe God smiles when we pray. 😍 Do you?
No, I can’t tell you Chris peeled those eggs, because I did.😉😊🙃😍. Thanks for sharing this scripture in Psalm 119. “Smile on me your servant, teach me the right way to live.” ✝
I agree with you Sara, I believe God does smile when we pray.
I would like to offer this prayer found in Ephesians 3 for my believing friends; “…I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20)!Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
I tag verse 20 for my fervent prayer for those that have requested prayers for family and friends. I highlight Noah, request by Tammy in this prayer today. 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻✝️
I agree on prayer with you.🙏✝
I would alike to Amen to your prayer above also, Sara.
And all the scriptures you share above are very encouraging.
