“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined” (Luke 5:37, NIV)
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”
Heavenly Father, grant us wisdom to discern the seasons of our lives and teach us to embrace the new things You have for each of us.

Thanks for the verses you shared, Sara. They really provide an instructional map for how to stay aware and navigate each day. And I would like to say Amen to your wisdom prayer.
As I look over and work in my garden each day I see that plants (and insects) are constantly changing. The life God put in each seed has so many different stages as the weather and conditions shift, but it is still the same variety with the same life whether seed or soon tomato with the seed in it. The garden work changes and cycles too… one day digging, then planting, watering, pruning, picking, pulling weeds.
I love the example of Moses…a new way of looking and thinking about things.
Debi, you always find the anchor that holds while traveling the world with seeds that produce beauty and healthy meals that helps humans grow and thrive. Why tiny, tiny seeds that have big bold viable stories, parables and songs that are smaller than eyes but larger than a Mountain View. Seeds!
The Bible consistently warns us that this world will not last forever. “Heaven and earth will pass away,” Jesus said in Matthew 24:35. His statement was in the context of end times’ prophecies and the eternal nature of Jesus’ words: “My words will never pass away.” This means that trusting Jesus is wiser than trusting anything in this world. News of today at times reminds me of a comic book! Well, not really since the comic might reveal a light missed by news seeking ratings.
Matthew 5:18 “For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”
Matthew 24:35-39 (KJV) 35) “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36) But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37) But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
I could post from The Word of God non stop but there are many, a whole lot of many of us, that would argue Fox vs CNN is the one to watch!
Lot of praying after the watch wouldn’t you say? “He, (Jesus) told them to watch and pray to avoid temptation (Matthew 26:41). Today many talk about our need to “watch and pray.” “Watch” is a word meaning to have vigilant awareness, like a sentry at night. A sentry is to be on guard for anything out of order, for the enemy’s advance, for anything that might threaten his watch.
Old vs new! What is today’s news from my watch? Do I watch from an English Castle? A mountain log cabin? A California mansion? Or, my Apple Watch?
Sara one thing I’ve seen changed is reading the Bible on a Tablet or IPad or use Bible app.. Also if you have a song in your heart and know some words you can go to I Tunes type in the words you know and takes you right to it and helps keep you in tune or just stop singing and listen to the artist. I also love when I want to read a commentary and can go pull it up instead of buying a commentary in book form. Also I can read many versions of the Bible scriptures and many versions of commentaries. I love tech in this regard.
When I thought of the End Times and Jesus coming I thought of the 10 Virgins ( Matthew 25).
I was so lucky that a friend recommended a new versions of the Bible called @NRSV Cultural Backgrounds – Study Bible- Bringing to life the Ancient world ofScriptures.
Research in other places says:
In the Bible above. The notes said that it probably was a torch instead as lamps did not give enough light for a night wedding. The torch was wrapped in rags and had to rewrapped every 15 minutes. So you had to have plenty of oil. You needed to have your mind focused on Jesus all the time.
Lamp means having your mind alert and tuned into Jesus and ready to hear Him.
Lamps are also symbols of guidance. (Psalm 119: 105, John5: 35)
John1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
John1:14 the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory glory of the one and only Son who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Number 5 in the Bible means God’s favor and kindness and grace count the number of clapping your hands in this song.
Three means God’s presence, completeness and eternal life .

“Technically, Moses was the first person with a tablet”….. 🤔 it might be a good Idea if I read those messages Moses received on his tablet, daily, from Exodus 20?
Hi Tammy, I thought you had a great idea so I added to my morning read Exodus 20! A cup of coffee, glass of fresh cool water and a few figs in a view that might give me a sunrise peek and read the words on Moses’ tablet from my tablet? WOW!
The people were afraid to hear directly from God yet told Moses you can tell us what God is saying. They were afraid if God spoke to them they might die. Yet, Moses relates, “do not be afraid.” This fear of God was to be a safety net to keep them from sinning.
Fear of God from words written on a tablet. As Rena relates in her comments her tablet seems to have never ending helps to remind one you are in the group of hearers and tablet readers. Debi goes all out with her seed packets to remind herself seed packets are one of the visuals that says your tablet or mine or Rena’s or Tammy’s the Word remains the same!
Acknowledge God as your creator! Respect Him! Obey Him! Reverence and Respect Him!
Seems the writer of Hebrews found the depths of Moses’ iCloud message, “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31)
What might I change in my living to better acknowledge that I have gained a bit of knowledge from The living of The Word of God after reading Exodus 20?“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge …” (Proverbs 1:7)
“My words will never pass away.” Sara quoted from Matthew 24:35.
After re-reading all that Sara, Tammy and Rena wrote, and thinking more on Sara’s words, “Fear of God from words written on a tablet.”, I thought how important and powerful God’s finger was. He decided to use it when he wrote on the tablets. And Jesus used His finger to write on the ground words that exposed hearts and motives. (John 8:6).
Even our own fingers do things that have can have significant results…from pushing a seed into the ground to start the germination process, to touching communication devices that send out words.
I found it helpful and sobering to reflect on Sara’s take-away after she read Exodus 20. ““The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge”. It helps keep things in perspective.
Hi Sara, I don’t have a cup of coffee ☕️ right now, but you sure got a jump start on Exodus! 🤓💡📝 “Acknowledge God as your Creator!! Respect Him! Obey Him! Reverence and Respect Him!”
I think I will take a peek at the first thing written on Moses’ tablet to see if there is some instructions to follow that may help with the above statement? 🔍 👀 Look at the note on the tablet, if I’m seeing it correctly?….” 3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.” Did I read/see Moses’ tablet correctly ?
Tammy, I pulled my old repaired reading glasses out to read from the ancient tablet of Moses you referred us to and I think you hit the bull’s eye! “ You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3)
I am thinking this morning about interacting with another on a purchased return. I’m a bit confused as to a mistake or purposely mixture of items.
I find when I’m presenting items to a child which is the items in box I carefully put each tiny item in proper space before I allow the child to play. My goal I don’t expect a child or a returned box to have a mixture of things not related involved.
It’s a long story that has become a teaching tool for us. The Holy Spirit is God and our teacher. Last night after the box the day before had been returned to the store packed to perfection from my view hoping another family could use item even though it would not work for our purposes I discovered a mixture had occurred. Items unrelated had been included.
From my view this looks like a freak show. The one that was packing for the child’s use had mixed items from toy to toy. In their way of thinking it seemed good. That might have been ok even if it would have been confusing. But, when it became necessary to return to store we were not told the little items in baggies were a mixture of other toys.
Now what? It seems when store opens this am we have to hopefully buy item back and try and organized the items so that box for a child will have the proper items. And, the items in the child’s home can have their items.
Just so many lessons for truth seekers of God packed in this box waiting to be sorted. Why would adults hoping to teach children make a mess of valuable teaching tools for them? Q how many times have you heard an adult say a teacher in the church made a mess of their lives with a mixture of info? Or, maybe we feel that way?
Q Do we see others thinking as long as I don’t say anything and hide behind my imaginary wall no one will know. Have you seen a young child hide to make a messy diaper. They know! But, what does the teacher know?
The Commandments of God given from the cloud to Moses we may have learned like our ABC’s. Did we learn how to live them so others would desire to live them? Or, did we pour them into our old wine skins only to cause a waste?
“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined” (Luke 5:37, NIV)
🎶just a closer walk with thee grant it Jesus is my plea…Daily walking close to thee.”
Thank you Sara, for letting me know I read Moses’ tablet correctly…. But you sure have hit the nail on the head with this comment…” The Commandments of God given from the cloud to Moses we may have learned like our ABC’s. Did we learn how to live them so others would desire to live them? Or, did we pour them into our old wine skins only to cause a waste?”😱🙏🙏🙏
Ok Sara this is for you. No rap just sing your own tune. Was sing in the night so finished this morning.
Move Is On by Rena Oynes (c) 2021
I heard the boots of heaven moving on as God instructed.
One step at a time an angel came along Godly men and women. Placing their wings of protection around the ones God named. The Lord filled the ones called with His strength and power to carry out His plan to the end.
The move is on.
Spread the WORD and see men fall in love with Jesus, the Savior or stay in their sins and death to come.
The move is on.
Jesus died and arose again. He is coming soon.
Fall prostrate before King Jesus who is worthy of our praise.
The move is on.
Ask King Jesus to forgive you. “Have mercy on me. Wash me thoroughly and cleanse me of all sin.
The move is on.
Falling to the floor again you feel the length, breadth, and depth of His love
No Rap! Good I could manage as a toe tap sing along 🎼
Are you still teaching children’s Sunday School? Do they like singing?
They love to sing, dance, and read scriptures dramatically.
I love what each one has said before writing this. The finger can only write what the Mind of God says. We are the instrument He uses, because we said”Use Me
I love what each one has brought to this table. Debi I thought of the finger thought of Moses and God’s finger writing on the tablet. Our finger when connected to God’s whispers today cuts through the darkness; however if connected to my mind who knows – just idle talk. God doesa great job using His instruments when we tune in to Him.
Reading the many pointed comments on my tablet from your fingers as they tapped truths in imaginary ink so I could read with or without my glasses as my tablet allows a touch or pinch to enlarge your print! 😮 What do you say about that?
Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” He is emphasizing that despite what the crowd might be saying about him, who are you saying that I Am?
And, then we might just communicate in our best language, Jesus who do you say that I am? And, He responds, You are my Beloved, fearfully and wonderfully made. Don’t ever forget My Beloved, you, yes you, my most precious are my image!
Tammy, I’m still pondering reasons why I should not put other gods before God speaking in Exodus 20 you kindly referred us to.
Tammy, did you hear God, your Heavenly Father just tell you how beloved you are by Him. How you are His image regardless of where you go. Home, play or work? If you have eyes for another God what thorn He might feel?
This song was suggested by someone else and I thought it great to add as praise to “the Move is On” when thinking about about all God has done praise Him continuously
Here is the song enjoy and sing along.
Im enjoying this beautiful song this morning.🎼🎼🎼. Thank you for sharing it Rena.
Thank you Sara, for reminding me of how I’m beloved by God. That is a truth that the father of lies does not want us to hear, I believe. I can’t imagine how much it hurts God, if we have eyes for another god?
Sara, you wrote, “Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” He is emphasizing that despite what the crowd might be saying about him, who are you saying that I Am?”
I was thinking on this last night since there is so much that Jesus is. So much that God is. So much He does. So many names and characteristics He has… Savior, Healer, Creator, Judge, Master, Teacher, and the list goes on.
This verse you wrote above , Sara, seems to tie in, “Heavenly Father, grant us wisdom to discern the seasons of our lives and teach us to embrace the new things You have for each of us.” I think my response to Jesus’ question may be different depending on the season or situation I am in as that is what I would be focused on. Teacher when I am trying to learn things; Light when I need to see; Master when I need to bow to His will; Healer when in need of Healing, etc. And when praying for others or helping with another’s need, a particular character of His may be needed…Savior, Healer, Helper, Protector, etc.
