Sara’s thoughts for 2022

Invite the Holy Spirit to oil our wings so you can take flight in 2022! SM

I shared this with a friend and they responded,
“I read that Michael Jordan says, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”

I would say the same we miss 100% of the flights we don’t take as believer in the work of The Holy Spirit.

The prophet Isaiah says, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Always remember these stats, the best baseball major hitters only get 3 hits out of ten! Got to always step up to the plate.

Be greatly blessed in 2022!

  1. Sara, one of the first things I thought of when I read this blog was something my grandmama Furlough used to tell me. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” I believe my grandmama believed in staying busy, about the Lord’s work. And BTW: I think Isaiah 40:31 was one of her favorite verses. 🙏✝️

    1. Believed it and lived it! ❤️ As I paused to reflect on your Grandmother’s thoughts and life I thought if you really believe a truth you live a truth! Is that right or wrong Tammy?

    1. “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” John 16:13

Tammy, I have been giving thought to the faith of your Gmother and other saints that acted on hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit.

      John 4:23
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

      John 14:17
the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

      John 15:26
The Work of the Holy Spirit
“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.

Some days in the whole of dealing with others and maybe ourselves it seems the voice of the Holy Spirit is muffled in my opinion.

Yet, John 14:17 seems to nudge me in various ways to let me know I’m looking for Him in all the wrong places.

John 5:23 notifies me that Our Heavenly Father is very active in the work of The Holy Spirit. He is out and about recruiting in a bigger way than looking for a new QB for a football team!

And John 15:26 is looking for major hitters.

Going to be good Y’all as we search out and find and enjoy spending some time with The Holy Spirit!

      1. I thank You, Heaveny Father for searching out those that are praying for this panedemic and those suffering and working in and among the sick and giving us a prayer to unite our voices if we desire to.

        “FOR THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONS
Almighty God, whose blessed Son Jesus Christ went about doing good, and healing all manner of sickness and disease among the people: Continue in our hospitals his gracious work among us especially in this time of plague and pandemic; console and heal the sick; grant to the physicians, nurses, and assisting staff wisdom and skill, diligence and patience; prosper their work, O Lord, and send down your blessing upon all who serve the suffering; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

      2. Thanks for those helpful scriptures and comments on, “…on hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit.”, Sara.

That sparked a desire to continue searching in one of your retreat workbooks where you wrote quite extensively about Him and elaborated on John 4:23.

A couple of excerpts I found particularly meaningful from, “Designs of One’s Heart, The Four Seasons, Hearts are Seasonal Much Like the Four Seasons; Lesson IV, Autumn Proves Us” (pg 9) were these.

“…and according to John 4:24 says, “And those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.” The Messiah, Who is called the Christ our gate to God, the Spirit, has died on the cross, a sacrificial Lamb for us; buried and arose on the third day and ascended into Heaven. Jesus has sent back from Heaven, His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the oil from the tree of life. You recall that oil that I told you about that worshippers use of the sandalwood to put on the body. We have an oil also that we pour out on our body and it empowers us and gives us energy, vitality to worship and praise our Creator with song, dance, teaching, instruments, the rhythm of the seasons, our creativity from the Creator. The Dance of Surrender.”

And you ask us a question in Lesson II, Winter Tells Us” (pg. 8) that I think helps us to make the connection to the scriptures you referenced in your blog comment above regarding the Holy Spirit and getting to know Him. “I’d like to ask you today, do you know Him? Has He come to you and you have knowingly turned Him away? Or have you reached out your hand and taken the dove unto yourself? Reach out and touch. Take Him to yourself. For Solomon has said in the Song of Solomon, “for His love is better than wine. His very name, Jesus, is ointment poured forth. Draw me and I will follow You.”

Also, thank you for sharing the prayer for “FOR THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONS” below. Amen.

  2. What Tammy wrote and Sara answered also reminded me of Sara’s words for 2022 from the blog ”Cypress Trees Dwelling Together”: “May each day find duties for your hands! Paths of purpose for each step you take!”

Sara’s thoughts in this blog (Sara’s thoughts for 2022) about wings and flight made me think of a poem she wrote. I found it in one of her retreat books, Dressing for His Glory” in Lesson 5 “Golden Apples in Silver Baskets…On Displaying Your Fruit”.

    It is titled “Gather-In”.

    Gather-in, Gather-in –
    I hear the Master say,
Harvest time is just around the bend.
Sharpen your teeth on the Word of the Lamb
And you will be in-flight on the Master’s plan.
Let your speech be changed by the measuring of His rod
To appropriate His Blood for the ones on the run –
Plans that are in progress should be flexible in type.
This makes room for others to gather in flight.
As you wind and glide and fly
    Straight through your course,
You will find a laurel wreath awaiting to be worn.”

    1. Nice poem Debi and thanks! And for the year and times with prayers and thanksgiving we could use this poem of truth to guide us with updated words and related scriptures that might help the younger generation or others that have not heard these truths to catch a glimpse of God’s greatness in their lives and those of their young families.

We here writing may be in Gmother category and hearing these wonderful truths from the Holy Spirit and that others have taught us can truly get on board the flight from Isaiah 40:31!

    1. I shared the Lily and our prayer that we are now praying ““FOR THE MEDICAL PROFESSIONS” with two friends in the profession of nursing and they are joining in prayer with us. Also, would you please add Susan and Alyson to our prayers.
“…Way back when all this began my son was ill. Chronic conditions are messy. The last week hasn’t been good for him. He has had some ups and downs but keeps plugging along…I reach out to you for prayers again. Thank you so very much for sharing this prayer link.” Susan

“This prayer is so timely, and it brought tears to my eyes… I joined an organization called Christian Fellowship of Nurses and we hold Sunday night prayers to pray for Nurses across the country. I love that this prayer is for all healthcare workers.” Alyson

      1. Yes Debi both Susan and Alyson added into our prayers as well as organization mentioned…

2. I agree in prayer for all healthcare professionals. It is so encouraging, as a nurse; myself, to know there are people who believe in prayer, and take the time to stand in the gap for those in healthcare, and for those that are sick. Thank you for the prayers offered. 🙏

  3. As we post things from days gone by I am reminded of the times, settings, and reason for info without an iPhone to google in my hand. Maybe a hard back Bible, Journal, and pen was all we had. I have suggested we might have great words we easily understand but the ones of today might not have a clue what in the world we are trying to say, share and especially when taken out of context of story it was originally meant for.
This is one poem that was originally written long years ago for a Pastor/missionary that travelled nation after nation proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to places I had never even heard of. He was a different denomination with teachings beyond me. Yet our church sponsored him and his team to hold a conference in our area and I penned a poem of sorts for the bulletin to announce his coming. His team understood this fully because I had heard them in other conferences and this was the type of language they wanted to help promote their meetings. It was great for the times. Now, it’s Greek to me! What about you when you share with your adult children or grands. Or, your SS class of young children? Or, high school? Etc

    Debi posted…

Reading this am I rewrote for what I may use for this week…
    “Sign-in, sign-in
    I hear my mind say,
    Type or talk either works
Sharpen your thinking from info obtained.
And, you might have comments from various sites.
Let your search be changed by the discipline of your soul.
To share a short story for those on the net.
Plans you once had are not for today.
Delete and give room for files newly obtained.

As you search, save, edit, delete
    Quickly obtaining words galore
You might find just what you went there for!

2022 holds dreams many of us have waited for. We need to rewrite our acceptance speeches. It’s fun! it’s good! It’s joy!

  4. Thanks for these clarifications you wrote Sara. I can see and understand your point and importance of them; especially reading your creative poem you “rewrote for what I may use for this week.” It sure is a great poem for today’s applications and making connections that are understandable to others.

You asked, (Debi do you have a date for this?). I could not find a date for when it was written, but the date in your retreat book where I obtained it was 2003.

    1. Thanks for the date you found in work book. So over 20 years! Hard to believe. Lots of changes in the world over the last 20 years.

The important thing to know the Holy Spirit doesn’t run out of talking, teaching and showing us the today and how to live. He is awesome!

  5. This topic reminded me of two parable that I’m studying in MATTHEW at BSF. He was the sowing of seed in varies soils. MATTHEW 13: 3b-9. Jesus talks about the soils which the sower planted good soil.
    1. Harden path -Represents those that rejected the truth of JESUS AS LORD.. MATTHEW 13: 24-30. Jesus taught that the kingdom of heaven is like a man (Jesus) who sowed good seed in His field. The enemy (Satan) came why all were asleep. The seed sown were weeds which looked a lot like the good seed, but they were weeds. The servants wanted to know if they should pull up the weeds. JESUS SAID NO because it could harm the wheat’s roots. Also added that at the end of time, the harvest, the good( the saved in Jesus) wheat and the weed those who follow Satan will be separated. Jesus followers will go with JESUS to heaven the counterfeit, the weed will go to hell . Pul This parable shows that Satan, whom we know is already defeated, will continue to work against those receptive to Jesus’ word will be caught away with Jesus at the end of time..

THE next PARABLE – THE FOUR SOILS. ROCKY SOIL seed sown on the hard soil on the path seed does take due to total rejection OF Jesus. The seed that falls on rocky soilI is shallow Has no root system..This Jesus said represents a person who receives the Word with Joy, but when troubled times come gives up on following Jesus. The seed sown on thorny soil represents a divided heart They love the world more than JESUS
The fourth soil represents the responsive heart that embraces JESUS. They totally believe that Jesus died for our sins, rose again saving us from our sin. And we will be with CHRIST at the end of time forever. This soil represents true faith and this seed will will produce fruit of bringing 100, 60, 30 fold to Him. They will go to be with Jesus at the end of time. This parable is about the soil, the condition of ones heart. How’s is your heart?

You may say how in the world does apply to out topic?

Well the field is the earth which contains the nations. As citizens of the earth God created the earth without sin. But man who saw something that looked good and something God said TO ADAM AND EVE no to not eat. MAN listening to the wrong voice agreed with the voice said yes I’ll do it. Satan lied about GOD’S word so they sinned doing the thing that God said not do.. therefor sin came into a sinless garden and to the earth.

Debi did wonderful research about the soul so I won’t define it again. But knowing soul and spirit which Jesus’s parables reveal. I’d like to clarify the distinction between the soul and the spirit.

    My research found.
Spirit: human spirit relates to GOD – we see that in Jesus’s parables.

Soul- the inner life without any regard to GOD, what all humanity may share, born again or not. Or whom do you callLORD – JESUS OR Satan. Are you the weed or the good plant.
WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF YOU HEART? Are you planted in good soil or are you hardened of heart and refuse to even hear about JESUS or is the world is far more exciting than serving JESUS. We are a broken earth AND ALL OF US HAS SINNED. DO YOU WANT TO BE CLEANED UP OR CONTINUE TO BE DRESSED IN THE FILTHY CLOTHING OF SIN. You choose. YOUR LIFE DEPENDS UPON IT. Do you research with an open ♥️
