A time for Thoughtful Thoughts

The Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
—Isaiah 30:18 (NRSVU)

Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will kiss each other. Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky.
—Psalm 85:10-11 (NRSVUE)

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
—‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7‬:‭7‬ ‭(NKJV)‬

Come and sit awhile and have and share a thoughtful thought about the artist and creator that took your brokenness and make your beauty shine again.

  1. “Come and sit awhile and have and share a thoughtful thought about the artist and creator that took your brokenness and make your beauty shine again.”

I sat awhile, read Sara’s encouraging words and scriptures, listened to the great Instagram message and gazed at the photo.

The photo spoke to me about my life as a pot referred to in the Instagram message.

The green and yellow cart behind the bench said, “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matt 11:28. And The Daily Lily has been and continues to be for me the source of that needed rest.

Different objects in the photo reminded me of different things that have impacted my life and continue to from Sara’s workbooks and retreats I attended (and ongoing teachings on these blogs).

The bench. This immediately reminded me of Sara’s workbook “Throwing Your Light Forward”, Chapter 4, “Fellowship, The Beauty of the Setting”.  The picture throughout this chapter was of a bench in a garden setting with a caption which read, “Artificial fellowship leaves you empty, true fellowship fills you.” True fellowship is so vital in re-making a pot.

Green trees… a challenge from “Dressing for His Glory”, Lesson 5, the “Steps to maintaining a Healthy Tree.  (capturing my words).” Words are so important and bring life or death. (“Dance of Healing” workbook).

A fern…a seasonal plant. From the workbook and retreat, “Designs of One’s Heart, The Four Seasons”, which taught that “Hearts Are Seasonal Much Like the Four Seasons.” And the need to “Renew thyself each day. Do it again and again and again.”

Sunflower in the gnome’s hand on the flag: “Dressing for His Glory” Lesson 8…Sunflower…The work of the Lord”. This was probably the most transformational lesson that as I applied, and still learn to apply, brings healing and health. “I’m a great believer in work. I find the more work I do, the more work I’m given to do – Sara Mullennex.”

A blooming plant: “The Four Bees, Finding Your Spiritual Gifts’ …development from “burgeoning, to budding, to blossoming, to blooming.”… learning to cycle through and apply the stages; and then cycle through again and again in the growing and learning process.

There are so many more…but I share and am thankful for these.

    1. ““Remember to magnify His work, Of which men have sung.”
      Job‬ ‭36‬:‭24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Debi, I’m imagining you were an A student in school as you sure recall and put into practice your book learning experiences.

You have various outlets in show and sharing with your gardens and teachings in your home and vocation of teaching.

  2. All of the Scriptures shared here are encouraging. I love how the NLT words Isaiah 30:18…”So the Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.” The footnotes from the NLT for the verses in Matthew 7:7,8 says: “ Jesus tells us to persist in pursuing God. People often give up after a few halfhearted efforts and conclude that God cannot be found. But knowing God takes faith, focus, and follow through, and Jesus assures us that we will be rewarded. Don’t give up in your efforts to seek God. Continue to ask him for more knowledge, patience, wisdom, love, and understanding. He will give them to you.” That is a beautiful bench (photo above) to sit and wait on the Lord, in a quiet time with Him isn’t it?

    1. Tammy, I agree the “garden bench” seems to be a perfect spot to have a little chat with Jesus and tell him all about His marvelous works.

      In reading your comment I “bench” paused on your words, “Continue to ask him for more knowledge…” beautiful prayer to pray and hope and believe for. I was reminded of these words from the prophet, Isaiah;

“They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”
      ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭11‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
